Men treat their shops better then they do their bedrooms.
Joe spam That's where the action is 😊
Men treat their bedrooms like women treat their cars.
Or how men treat the bathroom. My girlfriends step dad and brothers keep the bathroom so disgusting
That's because in a lot of cases their cars treat them better than their women 😊
What if your shop is your house? Shouse?
If you don't have enough OCD problems this will be a nice addition to add to your list of things to do.
I tried the microfiber wash for the first time today and had really good results. I did not separate the different towels and everything came out clean and fluffy.
Hi Dave! Thanks for the awesome feedback, we are glad to have you apart of the Chemical Guys family!
Good to know, I enjoy detailing my truck but don't have tons of microfiber towels and everytime I hear wash separately or buy specific detergents I end up buying new towels and throw the old ones away
GOk Ok😢guy
You need 3 different washing machines for 3 different colors of microfiber towels.
...and they have to be Chemical Guys branded washing machines too!
He says dont wash together they cross contaminate then lays each on the other piles lol
And 3 different dryers because you don't want the residue to coat the interior of the barrel and it will cause cross contamination. And because there will be airborne fibers when you open the dryer, to avoid cross contamination, you will need 3 different laundry rooms. But then, you have the issue of central air systems circulating the contaminated air to all the rooms so you will need 3 different houses. preferably in different zip codes. In different states. to make sure you don't get cross contamination.
Hahaha yall wild
Joshua Szeto iam die to read ur coment.. lol
Wash my microfiber towels all together, never had a problem with wax streaks on my Windows :)
Neither have I 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Must be because you have the Chemical Guys window installed on your car
This actually helps a lot because a lot of people dry on high heat instead of delicate, thanks.
Keep Microfiber Goods Like New!

I really do appreciate the fact you showed us how to hand wash. I never thought to use my grit guard. My mrs is going mental because the wax in my cloths has gotten on my kids clothes :-s thank you
I came to see if this was pushing a new product... and YEP... there it is..
LMAOOO you're right!
i think they're jerking us off "microfiber wash". i've never seen jeans wash? or t-shirts wash?
Knows no shame at all.
They are the masters at “creating a problem” and having the “solution”
Normal detergents have fabric softener which will degrade the micro fiber towel so it won't do as good a job
"Microfiber" word count: 54
I will go back and verify that
babe count: 1
Appreciate your dedication
Thanks a lot, now I have to rewatch the video and see for myself...
omg it's so bored,I heard all the time microfiber this microfiber the other....i stop the video in 4rth minute,I tried hard to see it
I swear chemical guys have all the essential you need for you car!!! Didn't even know there was such thing. I've been washing my cloths with regular laundry detergent and wondered why the dirt wouldn't come off.
Glad to have you as part of the Chemical Guys family!!
I simply don't understand the need to separate the colors. The whole purpose of washing the towels is to get the dirt, wax, product, etc. out of the microfiber. If I'm washing 6 green towels and 2 blue towels together, you're arguing that the debris from the green towels will somehow come clean but move over to the blue towels that are being cleaned in the exact same load?? That makes no sense. You're either cleaning your towels or you're not.
Holadude96 You should re-watch the video.
Chemical Guys Why? I understood your explanation the first time, but I honestly just don't see how it makes any difference. It's an honest question. So you use the different colors for different purposes but the only physical difference between the towels is the color. Correct? One's not a heavier knap than the others or some such. So again if you're washing the towels to remove the contaminants, regardless of what part of the car they were picked up from, they should come clean no matter if they're washed with like colors or not. What you're essentially suggesting is that one color towel gets cleaner than the others for whatever reason, and that doesn't make any sense.
Holadude96 What we are suggest is that you separate towels to avoid cross-contamination. Using Grey towels to clean wheels will fill the towel with brake dust. Green towels never touch the wheels, thus if you wash the brake dust filled towels and waxing towels together, there is a chance that brake dust may become impregnated in the green towel. Now if you go to wax your car, the small amount of brake dust maybe cause swirls and scratches on the paintwork. This does happen often, and when you are detailing sensitive paintwork, any particulate matter that is inside the microfiber fabric will scratch the paintwork. These problems can be prevented by washing towels in color-coded groups. Plus, if you are washing "6 green towels and 2 blue towel", you should really wait till more towels are dirt to wash a bigger load. Washing bigger towels together saves water and energy.
Chemical Guys I understand that. I guess the point of contention here is that if you're worried about cross contamination, then your towels aren't getting completely cleaned, hence my comment in my original reply..."you're either cleaning your towels or you're not".
Regarding towels being washed in my hypothetical, those numbers were picked completely arbitrarily for the sake of illustration.
+Holadude96 it's one way to help make themselves look more professional, but completely unnecessary imo. like you said, either they're clean or not.
"You don't want to cross contaminate between towels..."
*sets dirty interior towel on top of window towels* 🤦♂️
Also, when they take the towels out of the dryer the can is marked "dirty green towels" so unless they wash the can after emptying it they're cross contaminating the clean towels immediately.
its a good idea but im not washing just a few towels lol
Can you mix and match color batches in the drier? Or keep all colors separate for the entire process?
New drinking game!! Take a shot every time he says "Microfiber".
Deviousmendez well im lightweight so im about to be fucked up 😂😂😂
Dont do that, you will die
Did this got alcohol poisoning went to the hospital now Im back here. Don’t listen to random youtube comments.
-DEAD-
Deviousmendez do I send my Emergency Department bill to you or Chemical Guys?
Asking for a friend...
In the video it recommends to wash separately and I agree with you but what about drying can I do one big load where they all dry together? I mean they should just be damp cloths right nothing more? Thanks you guys rock!!
If I mixed my towels and used fabric softener can I undo it by washing my towels more than once? With microfiber soap.
Its just like the man says, different colored towels are intended for different areas of the vehicle. Take a brand new car drive it 2 miles. The grime and\or dirt on the lower part of the door will be different than that of the roof. Going the little extra distance to keep things clean is only assisting to reduce the risk of cross contamination of the tiny particles that may not get completely washed out. I have been detailing in different situations including body shops for a while (thats a whole different beast). Proper care of your equipment is essential BECAUSE OF:: #1. Stupid people wanting to use my stuff, #2. Flying micropieces of steel or dirt from people grinding, sanding, sweeping, and welding near me:----- realized pretty fast that I have no choice to PUT my towels, washing mitts (one just for black cars!,one for nasty dirty cars, & one for everything else), AND all buffing pads ALL in separate ziplock bags AFTER cleaning those. I also make sure im not dusty. May seem silly but I keep my buffer clean as well, wiping down the cord once in a while too. This all sounds like a lot but its worth it. Clean the stuff that cleans your stuff you know. Ignore the ignorant chemical guys, for you know what you're doing.
"all buffing pads ALL in separate ziplock bags" Good Idea
Can you guys also do a video on the different hexlogic pads?
Good advice on the fabric softener/dryer sheets. Toxin-laced, you don't want that stuff on anything that's touching your skin.
Most fabric softeners are made from sheep fat with fake scents added. The scent agents might be toxic but the fat is not. The reason to avoid using them with microfiber towels is the fat will coat the fibers and make the cloth much less absorbent.
@@zone4garlicfarm softener is just deionised water and some surf actonts and perfume . No fatty acids ( animal fats
Mostly cows )
Absolutely love your products. I finally have a way to clean shine and protect by new Jeep wrangler JKU.
That's awesome, glad you like it, I just used some to clean my car over the weekend, it looked better than the day I drove it off the lot.
Great video I just used to turf them away after they got dirty not anymore.
Thank you for this. No more ruining my microfiber towels. Much appreciated
Enjoy your detailing products!!
Great job and right to the point.
Thanks for the awesome feedback, Andre, and thanks for being a part of the Chemical Guys family! Make sure to check back later today for a new video upload!
It sounds crazy but think about it this way, would you wash your regular clothes with a dirty work uniform? I’m positive most people won’t, especially if the work uniform has stains that are difficult to remove such as grease.
SUPER informative!!! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
It’s sounds silly, separating by grade but it works and the best I’ve found is to buy an inexpensive portable washer and simply use it for all my microfiber towels. You won’t use as much water and you have a dedicated washer to do it. I use a light detergent nothing special and I get perfect results. And it would be bad business not to have a product placement when doing an instructional video in your area of business so I get that but I’ve never let an ad dictate anything to me so I guess I’m different
Hey guys, outstanding channel with many great vids! Question: How many washes will your microfibers hold up through? Not so much concerning the staining and soiling which can vary to use/application (I did kill one with a single use cleaning up a differential!) ... but more over the life of the towels under normal use. How to know what the "life span" is?
Depends on how they're used and depends on how they're washed. But, with regular use I would say 6-8 months. Maybe 15 cleaning cycles before they should be replaced, the fibers are not nearly as effective after that point.
Na I'm good mine are going in the laundry like all my towels ain't nobody got time for that chief
It's almost like you don't care about the... Details.
@@morrishbs Or it’s almost like there ain’t time for all of this nonsense. Mans is smart and throwing em in the luandry
I use synthetic program at 60°C.
Is it good?
I appreciate this. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
You made it clear what happens when you use softeners, but is ok to use normal laundry detergent?
I use the chemical guys microfiber wash and it works great I do get them really dirty so I use a little extra
Thanks for your awesome feedback, we are glad to have you part of the Chemical Guys family!
Thanks, I needed that!
Saves you money over time so you don't waste towel after towel!
I know this product is highly recommended, but we used regular liquid wash detergent
meanwhile, I take my bar of soap and rub on the dirty spot, rub them and wash em all under the sink.

+Chemical Guys. Do I have to separate towels of the same color if some towels are much dirtier than others? Also, can I wash the green towels with the CHEMICAL GUYS MIC_507_03 - PROFESSIONAL GRADE PREMIUM MICROFIBER TOWEL WITH SILK EDGES if they were used to dry a car after washing?
Color coded ,,,,good idea!!
I use your color system for my towels I’m curious tho, for towels with wax or let’s say V36 that I buffed off can I wash these with my green colored towels I use for quick detailing ? What about the VPR or silk shine dressing will those be okay to mix with my towels I use for interior? Trying to not cross contaminate
Hi Anthony, good question. We separate microfiber towels based on colors. So all the green exterior towels can be washed together, but you don't want to mix the green exterior towels with the yellow interior ones or the blue glass ones. Thanks for watching, Anthony, and thanks for being a part of the Chemical Guys family!
I know this off topic but what is that wall mount rack shelf thingy in the background I love it and I want to know where I can get one for myself?
There a Grid-wall Panel Organizer
Here's a Google Image Link:

Thanks CG ! I usually take my towels to the local laundromat you products are the best.
Do the exact same methods apply to the more special MF and Waffle Weave drying towels?
So if I used a very basic, organic, no scent detergent for maybe 2-3 washes then are my microfiber towels messed up? They seem fine to me. If I washed them with the microfiber wash would that help them get back to pristine condition?
Thanks for the awesome question, and being a member of the Chemical Guys family. Tumble them dry on low heat or no heat. High heat will literally melt the fibers while fabric softener and bleach will eliminate the electric charge that makes microfiber so effective
Cleaning garage towels separately from household is good enough for me. The key is a detergent that breaks down the buildup with hot water and an extra rinse cycle. That color separation is OCD unless you have to clean a full load of each at a time. Notice the use of ALL or any other good laundry detergent. HOT WATER is key.
There is a lot of stuff that some consider OCD. I am the sort that is in between not caring at all what towels i use and being like these guys. My cars usually look pretty good for several years but I could definitely improve on that if I wasn't so lazy.
This explains everything.
What about washing filthy towels that you don't want in your nice clean washing machine? Can they be soaked/pretreated in a bucket using Chemical Guys pad cleaner solution prior to putting in the washing machine?
what micro fiber would be best for laptop screen & what liquid should i use
How's it going, I think you should use the Glass and Window Waffle Weave Towel, or the workhorse blue towel with nonsense or inner clean. Be sure to spray directly into the towel, DO NOT spray directly on to your electronics. Make sure to buff off immediately, don't let the chemicals sit as they absorb into the screen and damage the sensitive electronics underneath.
Hey Chemical guys. Great video. Bought some of the wash as well. My question is, since I DO use dryer sheets (fabric softener) for my normal day to day clothing, etc., am I still ok to put the microfiber towels in my same dryer just without a dryer sheet? Or will the any "leftover" from past dryer sheets affect the micro fibers?
Hey there, I'll be glad to answer that for you. You should be fine to use the dryer without the sheets, it won't damage the towels as long as you dry on low, and wash on hot.
Chemical Guys Awesome! Thanks! Loving the products and they videos too! Keep kicking ass.
I am glad to see that a valid question has a valid answer. Usually great questions wont get answered.
So can I mix them together but wash them in separate bundles 🤔🤔
Mmmmm I didnt so far, will do this as of now, good tip
What is this video about? Everybody say it, Microfiber towels!!!!
i have a ton of microfiber towels which i have used for different projects..my question is this..will my project towels ever be clean enough to be used on my windows. or do i have to get a new set or color of towels that can only be used for my windows..thanks
Hi! We recommend the Glass and Window Waffle Weave Towel to clean any windows or mirrors. We recommend never cross contaminate any microfiber towels and always have them labeled. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family! Check link below. -CG Henry🤙
www.chemicalguys.com/Glass_and_Window_Waffle_Weave_Towel_p/mic_707_1.htm
just got some workhorse towels , a wooly mammoth, and 2 applicators. It says to wash these before my first use. So i was wondering can I just throw them all together before my first use since they havent been used yet?
Hot water will melt the fibers. Wash in cold or warm dry on low or no heat
You're right 👍.
This is a great process and all but for some of us this will take to long. I only own a couple of microfiber towels and having to separate them and wash them three at a time Is inconvenient to me. I'll just wash them all together. This will work great for guys like you who own a ton.
JEMY JEM so hand washing is the best method? Well that’s if you color code them. I also own a few and that’s what I might start to do
Is this product ok if you have one of those High-Efficiency washer machines?
Hi, great question. Yes, Microfiber Wash is formulated to be safe for use with standard & high efficiency machines. Thanks for watching and make sure to check back later today for a new video upload!
i really wpuld love that wall im my garage
Would you add those dryer sheets or say just low heat only
Hey! Good question, just use low heat/tumble dry.
Thanks
I see my electric, and water, bill getting higher. Not to mention my wife getting upset over me washing “less than full” loads. 🤦♂️
Would allowing the towels to air dry in my garage make a huge difference to the final result over using a commercial dryer?
Nope
great tips sir..
Thanks for the amazing feedback!
I wash microfiber towels by hand using CG microfiber wash.
I fill a bucket with warm water, place a dirt trap at the bottom put the detergent and the towels and just rub them gently for a few minutes and hang them dry.
Is this an effective method?
Thanks in advance
Hi Humberto, Microfiber Wash is designed to be used in the machine or by hand, so if you are successfully getting all of the dirt, embedded contaminants, and spent product out of the microfiber towels by hand washing, then that's totally fine! The problem can occur when you do not completely remove those things and they come back to haunt you on your next detail. So, just make sure to get everything totally out of the towel! We also recommend drying your towels in the dryer. Thanks for watching and make sure to check back tomorrow for a new video upload!
I sure hope that you're using a CG bucket and CG dirt trap.
@ chemical guys, I understand about the bugs and pollutants, but is it OK to dry in direct sunlight?
Yes
is it the towels or the washing machine that has to be different colors ?
hi.. i have a separate set i use for bath towels.. I've color coded my car ones before seeing this.. wow!.. hope these are safe to use on our bodies!.. thanks for video..
love this advertisement
I just installed my third washing machine to try this system. Unfortunately I now have no room in my garage to keep my C8. Seriously, great video!
Enjoy your detailing products!
Do you use a dryer sheet to dry them or no? If so, which one?
My microfiber towles wouldn't grab anything after a couple of washes. I learned I need to wipe down the dryer with alcohol before I used it and run the washer empty. My wife loves some Snuggle softener like we own stock in.
So let me get this straight. When washing microfiber towels that have been used for different purposes, the dirt will come loose and attach it self to another towel? You should probably buy a new washing machine, it sounds like the one you have now is broken since it won't remove the dirt from the microfiber towels you are washing.
Good God. Why so many nasty comments. Thanks for the video CG. If people want to wash their towels a different way go right ahead, but why complain about every single thing on the video. Some people can’t even wash their underwear correctly maybe that’s why.
Hi! Thanks for the awesome feedback, glad to have you apart of the Chemical Guys family!
There is actually some great information in here. For example, I’ve been washing my towels in warm rather than hot to avoid damaging them. I guess I was wrong. Good stuff, CG. To hell with the haters.
You have the applicator pads shown. How are those supposed to be cleaned?
Hi Eric! Good question. We recommend washing any microfibers applicators and towels with Microfiber Wash Cleaning Detergent. Chemical Guys Microfiber Wash is a specialty detergent that cleans and restores microfiber. Microfiber Wash removes wax, polish, dirt, grease, and stains, and leaves microfiber goods with a fresh scent. I will link down below Chemical Guys Premium Grade Microfiber Applicator. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family! - CG Henry

I'm in AZ, store mine in a sealed plastic tub to keep dust out better.
Great idea, happy detailing!!
Washing Washes Everything away, their should be no cross contamination if your washing machine did it's job right. . if that is the case, then your washing machine is Washed out. Time to get yourself a new one. I just read below and I see this ? was somewhat answered :o/ Anyways I guess this video is your suggestion and how you wash them, So we have to respect that. It is also not a bad idea for places that do alot of Detail and have Employees, This way they all follow a pattern. Thanks for taking the time to make the video :o) I have a set of LG Modern Front Load Washing Machine and Dryer. I don't have to wait for a large load, I can just do one piece at a time, Since it has Sensors that detect , how many pieces it has and how much water to use. I have seen my machine wash with Half a gallon of water for just one tiny or a two piece load.
can i use my regular washing machine, will that cross chemicals used with my clothes?
I should've watched this before washing my towels ^^' granted they're new towels and I haven't really used any waxes and whatnot other than car wash soap and some tire and rim cleaner
Happy detailing!
Nice
Question.. Can you dry all your towels together once they are washed? Or still have to do it separate?
Hi there! It is perfectly fine to dry freshly cleaned microfibers together.
Are the yellow, blue, and green microfiber towels made of different materials, or are you just doing that to keep them separated into different category's?
Hey Alex. that's a great question. The microfiber towels are all 70/30 blend microfiber with laser cut edges to prevent scratching. They were color coded so that you wouldn't mix them up. Green for paint, blue for windows , yellow for interior, black for wheels, tires, engine bays, and grey for leather. You don't want to use the towels you used for your wheels on your paint because wheels have abrasive break dust that can damage your clear coat. You can use the towels in any order you see fit, in any color combination you see fit as long as you don't confuse them. Stay tuned Alex, we've got more great videos launching this week.
C.G. Alex -
"Thpethific" lol
Please do a tutorial on correct way to wash dishes.
what if you don't have a dryer? do you just air dry? is it okay to dry in sunlight?
We highly recommend machine dry because of the risks involved when hang drying your towels, like bugs and other pollutants falling on it. The next best thing is hang drying your towels indoors. Although, it will take longer, it's the less risky alternative.
I'm confuse, some detail guys say wash microfiber in cold and not hot? Which one is it.... Pan the organizer has a whole video on washing them and say don't wash them hot use warm or cold
Which color code towel do you recommend for engine bay cleaning/detailing?
Red
Easy to remember a traffic signal color pattern, right? Red means stop! Don't use this on interior or exterior!
when do i know i need new towels even if i clean them this way? is it a feel? date? look?
Hello Jang! Thanks for your question. Microfiber towels should be retired or used for wheels and undercarriage jobs when they are no long plush and soft. If the towels are no longer trapping spent product or are harming the vehicle they should be discarded. With proper cleaning they will last for many years. - Happy detailing!
Chemical guys always trying to sell u some stuff.... lol it’s just soap guys
Does it gum up your washer or can you use your washer for regular Laundry too?
Hey Paul! It is perfectly safe for your washing machine.
i got a microfiber towel but it does not absorbs water is there anything i can do ?
We have the perfect technique for you to make sure to absorb all the water. It's called the Blot Technique. It's quite simple: you fold your towel once, you spread on the area you want to absorb water, you lightly pat on the towel to make sure it absorbs, then gently slide the towel off and voila, water is gone. Go over it with a dry section of the towel to remove any streaks. Happy Detailing!
What's up guys this is very very helpful, I'll put in an order, thanks
What if I only have a few towels from you guys? Like 5 total, and they are all different colors. What should I do then? Wash each towel separately ???? Or can I just put it all together in the wash?
The only towels I have is a grey "waffle weave drying towel" and a "red happy ending" towel for wax and clay bar lubricant and a black regular microfiber towel to dry the tires and sometimes another happy ending towel for my quick detail spray.
They are 1 towel each for different purposes. What should I do? I don't wanna waste water and soap for 1 towel but you guys are saying not to gross contaminate either. So what's the best option?
Also I have a front facing facing wash. How would I add the soap in?
If you don't want to use a washing machine, you can wash them in a bucket of warm water and scrub them on a grit guard or with a brush. Once they're done, you can hang dry them but it won't have the best results as it would with a washer and dryer.
For a front loader washing machine, you ought to be able to add the cleaner to the detergent tray/dish on your unit. You should get the same results as you would adding it to a top loader.
hooosifa you must buy enough of each color to make a full load of each color.
If i already washed them incorrectly, could i follow this and somewhat restore them so they don't cause swirl marks?
Hi Martin,
We have to know more about how you washed them incorrectly and how badly damaged the microfiber towels are. Send us a photo through our email or our Facebook so that we can better evaluate your situation and give you the best path to take. Thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
sorry I'm like 2 years late, so if I do wash them separately taking up like 3 of the washers lol can I put them all in the same dryer?
Hi Kyle, you mainly don't want to mix glass towels with glaze towels because the glaze could leach into the glass towels. Putting the towels in the same dryer shouldn't be a problem.
Any alternative if we dont have the microfiber wash ? Can i use car shampoo?
How do you wash microfiber pads correctly?? I keep seeing they tear
Hi Ivette, the microfiber applicator pads are washed in the same manner as you would wash all microfiber goods.
Hot, warm, or cold water for the washer machine?
I have your microfiber wash
they said hot
Won't the hot water damage the microfibre haswell? Because mricrofibre melts at anything over 60°C?
Yup, its better to wash with cold water which was mentioned in another video.
are tide pods ok?
Will this method work for the applicators
Hi Christian, don't use a washing machine because it will destroy the foam inside of the applicator pad. The best thing to do is spray some pad cleaner on the surface of the applicator , grab the foam pad cleaning brush, and gently scrub the applicator until all that spent product is removed. Some people are putting the applicator in the washer, and dryer which totally destroys them.
