This perspective is quite intriguing; it came at the right time for me. I’ve been grappling with the challenges of my daily life and the metrics I employ. The relentless pursuit of perfection often activates my anxiety and triggers my imposter syndrome. I think that when you subconsciously strive for a goal with a perceived metric system, repeatedly reminding yourself, it begins to have a toll - for example, claiming to be in a ‘flow state. Not everyone goes through this, to be fair.
Loving this type of content my man!! ❤ Whether it's coding or sailing, you've always been a deep thinker. I love seeing your process. Thanks for sharing, keep fighting the good fight!
Thank you for doing this. It fits perfectly. I constantly struggle with that expectation of perfection. The example you gave regarding the gym and the two hours... I used to think the same thing: "I already failed. I don't have the time". But not anymore. Keep it up, Hallden. You're great.
it is a relief to see, even if you know and suspect it, that others, who you consider to have already "arrived" in life, also struggle with the same problems as you
...then you have kids and everything goes out the window. Perfect, Average, Good Enough...whatever let's just get through this and we can collapse on the couch once we get them to bed.
Perfect day for a single dude without kids. In real life, you do shit when you have a free minute. You have to take the dog for a shit, the cat vomits on the floor, kids waiting for breakfast if you have small girls hair that needs doing. You running like crazy all morning. You're lucky if you can find 5min to take shit yourself 😂 The school sends a million emails you have to check everything and fill out the calendar, parent's evenings, PE days, etc., etc. My productivity starts after 21.00 after the kids hit the beds. Daily chaos is fun 😅
i know my limits and try to do as close as i can to that. no need to copy or try to do what other "successful people" say they do. i am doing enough, good enough! great video brother!
2 weeks ago I got so incredibly stressed that out of 8 things that I wanted or needed to do I only completed 2. I do think I need a better sleep rhythm (to have more energy and focus during the day) but other than that, striving for a perfect day each and every day burned so much energy that I just kept feeling worse and worse.
@@m.anasayub80 start small , if there are many things you want to complete just break it down into smaller and more achievable tasks. and just strive to be 1% better everyday. small and intentional progress is better than huge spontaneous progress that wouldn't last that long due to unsustainability.
This is amazing! I think if a 3rd day was added where you tried to be "perfect" but fear of failure came in and you just scrolled your phone all day, it would nail your point home I sent this to my friends and anyone else I think would benefit from it
Hey Kalle, I think these are exactly the videos you should be making and are a good fit for you. I remember your old coding videos and I've always been a bit critical of them. It was noticeable that you unfortunately didn't get any further with your knowledge of software engineering and that the content ideas probably ran out at some point. But that's not a bad thing and you still learned a lot and there were also many viewers who liked the content. But I really have to say that I think these types of videos suit you better and that you have the expertise to offer your viewers real added value. I wish you good luck and success with your future RUclips career
Stress is a killer in so many ways and there are so many stressors we cannot do anything about. I like the idea of not stressing yourself on top of that...
I think average or below average days are fine as long as they are in between some good enough (not perfect) days. I aim to chase the perfect day, but I make it harder because I don't want to achieve a perfect day and feel stressed that next day I am out of gas. But I think we should aim for 4-5 days of good enough days per (working week). Otherwise the more one leans towards average days the more things start slipping from your priority list. You said it correctly, as long as you are aware that you had an average day and its good enough today but tomorrow we can do better (and try to do better) its all good. We cannot sink into average days, I have done that and bad weeks turn to bad months and suddenly you are sitting with your head in your hands. For me I do weekly checkins with myself, Sunday is my reset day of sorts. Some personal care, some chores, some cleaning, I am more outside offline and away from computer and phone on Sunday. Thanks for creating this video, its good to know having average days is OKAY!
Not every day is going to perfect, you are right that we shouldn't keep ourselves always to aim for that higher standard, not everyday will go out the way you plan it sometimes. Keeping a daily checklist/goals can help you feel more productive as you check off each item. And regardless how the day turns out, always find time to balance out things by having fun!
Dear Kalle, peace of mind will come when perfection has become your way of life, not a goal to constantly strive for. Perfection is just a word, a label. Truth is that we all always know whenever we could have done more and we just didn't, hence our not feeling right. That's as simple as that. Keep going with your search for yourself, you are a smart and honest guy and you will find your path. All the best.
Great video Kalle! I noticed you eat for breakfast 4 boiled eggs. Is this your daily breakfast menu? Do you know if it's alright for the cholesterol level this many eggs?
I have the same thoughts about my perfect day, but it doesn't need to be a perfect until it makes you feel better. It might be stressful to keep the pace for a long time, so in this case it's worse to have the day that is close to be perfect. 9:35 is a perfect cut, btw 🤣
You should have recorded two separate days where in average days you miss a lot like going on a walk etc. This now looks like just a cropped clip of one another

I go with "good enough" until I'm motivated to be "perfect" and so far I feel like it has been working well.

I went though a similar thing, it's weird how you become a lot more productive when you stop trying to be.
I am having same problem :( how can i fix this mindset

I gotta try this myself, thanks. Im sure it'll help me analyze a few things.
Might be a strange question: where do you buy your clothes? I love your outfits and the simplicity behind it!
Amazing!!! One of the best videos I've ever watched. Beautiful message
The bit with you returning from walk / going on walk had a Groundhog Day or sliding doors vibe to it.
Thanks kalle you are truly an inspirational creator on yt
Your average is my productivity day, man 😂
This is inspiring. Thank you Kalle.

Good one ❤!!
Quick question - what song did you use at the start of your short film "STRAY"? I really like it.
Nice to see you back Kalle! A day or so ago, I was looking at your channel wondering if I had missed a video/where you were.
Imagine David Goggins watching that 🤣

I noticed you eat for breakfast 4 boiled eggs.

In a complicated world perfection is your enemy.

That's looks so lonely
You can't write code... you're not an engineer... you're not a designer... you can't put a hammer to a nail.

You should check out Islam. You’d love the way how organized it is..
Why are the average and perfect beings so lonely? Or don't you include people in your videos?😕
