I used this method to get myself to organise my life. It always seemed supper hard to even begin sorting the amount of stuff that I accumulated over the years. And being super bored and not allowed to do anything except the stuff I had to. It worked like a miracle. I layed on the floor for hours until I finally started doing one small step at a time. I recommend this very strongly to anyone who wants to start their own thing but just can't get themselves to move in that direction or get overwhelmed fast.

Kalle, you conveyed your point across perfectly!
A person does not like to be bored and therefore, tries their hardest to be occupied with something (easiest would be: social media, etc ...).
But if you force yourself to do nothing, soon, you'll start either thinking about something or wanting to do something.
When you start thinking about something, that ignites your creativity.
And when you start wanting to do something, that's when you should start working.
At least, that's how I interpreted your message! 😅

Great video Kalle. I find when, I do nothing or meditate and let the mind wander it does make a difference (to an extent). However, at least in my experience, I think, that sometimes, it is easy to get derailed and not want to do a task because of the factors like, the law of diminishing returns where the more initial effort we put into something over time, the less additional grains we make. And the bell curve where progress is slow, then we get a surge, but after, it feels like, we are stagnating when we in fact, we are not. I know these concept is used in business but I read they can be applied to other areas of life.

it is almost the counter intuitive that brings you to the great discoveries. And just as the ancient wisdom such as the Tao Te Ching gives much importance to nothingness, Bordeom seems to be the space where our brains get rid of the superficial chains and focus on the necessary.

I would just like to make a broader perspective on emotions.
People get them wrong. Emotions are bodily reactions to events that are important for us and are created by our thinking patterns (conscious or unconscious) that are always logical but may be incorrect or correct, but logical never the less . Therefore we can say that all emotions are rational(contrary to the popular belief that they are irrational ). That means that emotions are not negative or positive in a moralistic kind of way, but are inherently positive for the survival and accomplishment of the individual (except for self hatred and self contempt).
We distinguish 4 main emotions. Sadnes (which encourages us to change our way of thinking ), anger (which motivates us to solve the things that do not go as we want(and anger does not mean shouting and aggressiveness. Aggressiveness is behavior which is NOT a part of the emotion, but is dictated by us)), fear and joy. We activate them only when we perceive something to be important. This is the part when our duty to think right comes in. If our logic is incorrect our body will react incorrectly to the stimulus that we define as important.
We as humans can distinguish them by allot of factors but I will center on comfortableness here. Our culture believes that uncomfortable emotions (fear, anger, sadness and also boredom) are negative so we should avoid them. And this i think is part of the problem that Hallden was trying to convey in this video. That its not that the emotions are the problem but our behaviors(which like i said. Emotions certainly motivate you but you CHOOSE the behavior that solves the problem, you dont have to run away when you feel fear about something but can approach slowly). I personally think this truth is freeing in the deepest of meanings because it shows that while outside events may make us feel uncomfortable, it does not mean that they own us or even that we should react to them.
This knowledge is from a psychotherapy book called "understanding of emotions in psychotherapy by zoran milivojevic". and as far as i know it is only available in Serbian and Slovenian language. Cheers guys.

Not exactly the same thing, but this reminded me of how Bill Gates takes a week off just to read every year.
There really are too many distractions, and we don't give our brains nearly enough time to process all the new information we gather, whether it be from programming tutorials or tiktoks and instagram stories. We need to "process" the data.

That if the phone is EE, even turned upside down, some of your attention will constantly be focused upon it, as some part of your mind is wondering whether you received any notifications or messages et cetera. The people with the phone or other device in the viewed performed, less well at a variety of cognitive tasks and those withno devices in view or reach. I imagine the best idea is to have a device in an entirely different room.

the main issue is that your brain seeks the best energy to reward cost, and your mind is trained to resort to things like looking at your phone, porn, masturbation etc. because it takes very little effort for lots of dopamine. To be productive, you need to unlearn these habits. People should restrict themselves and after a certain time, they should balance it with something like taking a nap, going to the gym, going out alone in nature etc, with no phone, no music. That works. there is nothing that makes me want to work harder than being alone, going for a walk, and thinking about the reward of the work that Im intending to do this day. you need to not go on the phone or do any rewarding activity before work. ideally just take a shower, maybe go for a short walk, and immediately work a few hours, before you consider food. otherwise your realeasing dopamine and you will loose the urge to be productive, cause its too easy to go online and get some dopamine released, and people are typically flooded with dopamine online.
