I genuinely became a much better programmer from watching you a few years ago building out a flask rest API and hooking it up to a flutter app. 2/3 years later and I am now a senior software engineer at a company in Belfast. Good to see you back coding Kalle 🙏
How did you become a senior after only 2/3 years?
@@charbouli100 good question, it was a mix of luck and timing really. I work for a rather small company and I had been doing really well for them for the 2 years I had been working for them, I then got an offer from a larger software company and my work promoted me to senior with a pay rise to keep me basically!
Same I learned so much from the 8 part Flutter app live series with Python backend. I’m about to become a senior software engineer too in my country.
Even bought Kalle Hallden’s merch when it came out.
@@jasonc2901 Could you tell us more about how you handled this? It can be really sensitive sometimes
@@outis99 basically just try and be as respectful to both parties as possible, nothing wrong with interviewing for different companies as long as you don’t do it all the time to try and increase your salary without ever planning to actually leave.
Good luck on your journey bro
nice to see you again man, I remember watched your first videos in 2019-2020, now I'm busier than those days but is great see you coding (trying) again..
Ive been coding for like 5 years at this point and never did any app development so the things you do dont feel easy at all nor am I screaming while watching. I also think what makes your videos special is this honesty that you have. Keep moving forward man much luv from turkey :)
Hello! I am a guy studying computer engineering in Sweden, and most of the time, I feel like I'm struggling. I've failed the "programming core course" three times. However, when I watched your videos, I noticed that you also face challenges from time to time and then overcome them in a smarter way. This actually made me feel better. So now, I feel like even when I start working as an engineer, I'll still encounter struggles and have to look things up on open sources. It was really nice to watch your video, and I think you're really good at what you're doing. I wish you good luck, mate! :)
I love your videos! But not for how good you can code or create things, but for your strength of keeping it going and showing the real side of coding an project.
I'm glad to see you posting again, and even more glad your coding. You were one of teh first coder's I started to follow when I learned to code 3 years ago, so when you went dark I felt kind of bummed.
For the width of the sections, you can use a Row, and inside 2 Expanded, one with flex 2 and the other one with flex 1 (no need to specify it). The flex properties will be added to calculate to total length, so you can put for example 2 and 2 for two equal Expanded widgets, or 1 and 3 for the first one to take 1 place and the second one to take 3 places, etc...
Great to see you coding again 😊 let's build it 🎉🎉🎉🎉
pin this for kalle to see :)
@@jeffreydijkstra3391Only him can pin it actually 🥲
Literally was thinking about "where did Hallden go" a few days ago and this just reached my recommended, awesome to see!
Ohhhhh man where have you been ! I loved it every time you dropt one videos ! get back in the game build somthing great make it happen,
Much love and respect !
Hallden, so happy to see you coming back! great vid.
This made me gain some motivation to program and achieve if something is enthusiast you enough.
Thanks!
Yes indeed, its nice having Kalle back as this man inspired my entire career. Hopefully we get more of Kalle Tech with more programming content and tech reviews once again
I love this man! maybe we should consider to re-watch his older videos for some inspiration @@alexmadalambana8124
Iam happy to see you again back on track! I have been following your videos since few years and it even helped me in my programming journey, I have a small tip here, when you feel stuck, how about watching your old project-codding videos so that you can know the flow of thinking that you were used to... And eagerly looking more videos like this!
Kalle, kudos to you for being so open regarding how fresh coding is and the challenges when you have been away from it. I recognize so much the struggle and pain to get back to what was so easy before. Keep it up!
Hi Kalle! I've been following your channel for a couple years. I've enjoyed watching your coding videos back then, and it inspired me to code my own projects too. Much like you seem to describe, I have gone through (and still am, to a degree) a period of burnout, in which I completely stopped coding and was looking for a deeper meaning, a purpose. I found mine, eventually, in writing fiction.
Still, due to external circumstances, I found myself back into coding recently. Like you, I berated myself for skill loss and how slow I was, especially for things I deemed basic. But when I watched your video and heard what you were saying, I couldn't help but deny it. Of course you got slower, it's only natural. But it will come back. I realised these encouragements I was telling the screen were also valid for me. Thank you for that.
So now I tell the both of us: You're doing great.
Happy to hear this 🎉🎉😊
Hey man! I'm so stoked that you're back to programming! I absolutely loved waking up to your programming videos, they were so interesting and certainly acted as a source of inspiration for me and I'm sure for many of your subscribers. Your ability to be transparent when saying how many hours it took you to do something is refreshing as we have all felt the pain of wrestling with problems that have made us question our decision to become programmers lol have you considered maybe open-sourcing your app? I've been using flutter for a little while now and would love to contribute to something that you're doing. I'm sure there are many of your subscribers that would also love to collaborate with you. Keep up the awesome work, cheers!
Good to see you back with coding vids! One of the channels that motivated me to start learning
Hey Man! Love your videos! Keep it up! Good Luck! 💜
I was wondering where you have gone from the internet. Most embarrassingly, I couldn't remember the name! I was trying to recall, was it "Calle Heyden"/ "Kallen Heyden" or something else. After wondering for a month, this video just randomly appear in my RUclips side bar suggestions. Good to see you again bro.
So happy to see you back at coding Kalle 🎉 You just need time to get again on the mood, you got it!
Hey man! Keep it up, you were one of my inspirations learning to code my own things. Its like the muscle memory when you dont train for a while, its about time! Keep coding!
Amazing to have you back on the coding videos. I look forward to watching this series.
Please keep continuing this series.. Love you and your work! We all have down phases but don't worry you'll get the hang of it in some days again
Happy to see you back and building! ✌
Happy to hear!!! Welcome back!!!!
Good on you for sharing this process. It's very honest.
Hope you're keeping well Kalle!
Watching your videos are so soothing ❤
Hey Kalle, You were such a great inspiration to me from a few years ago, and I'm happy to see you start coding again. I hope one day I'll be able to create a successful channel like yours. Keep shining 🌟
Happy to see you back on coding i have always loved your content even if its not related to coding.
Broo I'm so excited for you that you're getting back into coding!! good luck with the app! (: I hope it goes great.
Roll the intro boys kalle is back
The master is back !!!
Great video, I really liked the slow and calming style of it. In comparison to all the other videos, that will best posted 😊
Really great video man, missed you, keep it up!! :))
Nice to see you back doing this stuff
Glad to see you back on the keys man...👍👍👍
Glad for you bro. I really look up to you as a big bro so this inspires me to build my own shit too.
bro I really missed you and your videos.
Happy to see you back
Haven't watched your channel in a while, glad to see you back coding, your videos are always very calming and inspirational. I really enjoy watching you coding as it's so different from my coding environment working in office in Stockholm with a team, it's cool to see "the other side" for lack of a better explanation, I think you know what I mean.
Anyway, did you finish your previous workout app? Last I saw I think it was in open testing or something like that.
Not coding for two years, well what where you doing for that time? How do you support yourself financially? Do you work?
Sorry if these are inappropriate questions but I'm just interested 😅 I really liked every video for the past two years and your lifestyles.
Again great videos and keep it up!
I love the way you make your video. The life you breath into your video is my favourite part. I would like to know what else you have being doing that's in the niche of software development
Good to see you back! Don't worry so much about your audience, try to make this as much enjoyable as possible for you, that way you'll return to it at 100%. Thanks for the video!
Happy to see you back. Used your videos for inspiration into my python career
First happy to see you again. Second I feel your struggles I'm in the same shoes, for me it wasn't 2 years but if feels like it.
Seeing this video might give me some hope to code again. Thanks.
Feels nice to see you back, started learning Flutter with ur videos
Great Video..
I can feel the hard work you have put in this video..
Keep Going @)
this is me after weeks of not coding 😅
Welcome back Hallden
Good to see you back coding, Hall 🎉
I will be doing the same for my master thesis, starting April 1 month to build the full app in Flutter. Less go less go! Server being developed also!
Had missed that intro music. Glad to see you back.
You are the one of reason to learn Flutter. So happy to see you again.
Hey man we're happy to see you
Nice to see you again!
So good to see you are getting back into coding!
The intro that I love.
FINALLY, You have came back 🎉
He's back!! We missed you buddy!
I must say this video has one of the best intro.
Good to see you code again.🔥
good to see you again on youtube, welcome back
Hey Halled, super happy to see you back. You back to coding full time / job? Hyped to see your stuff again.
welcome back mate!!!!!!!
It's so frustrating; when you've been a good programmer before, then leaving the code for some time and starting again from scratch isn't easy. We can't afford to be out of practice as programmers
I can’t wait for the app to be on the App Store o love the idea!!
Hey! Some ideas for the app:
1: Can you create widgets to start/stop certain timers on the home screen of the phone, for faster access? Or even in the lock screen on Android, but i don't know if that is possible.
2: Integration with google calendar for example would be a huge feature!
3: Goals/Targets for each tag? For example, "I want to Read 10h/week". Then have the stats for the goals vs actual.
Love the videos! Keep it up and welcome back!
Nice video Kalle! What have you been doing all this time since you are not coding?
love to see the coding vlogs back :D I'm starting my coding again too :)
hey buddy, just wanted to say. I started Flutter dev with your videos in 2018. Feels nice to see you back !!!
I miss your intro sound. Glad you are back mate!
Finally man is back!
About the 2/3 and 1/3 containers, you have the root Row, place two expanded inside and set their ‘flex’ property to 2 to the first and 1 to the second, they will size as you need, using the width and height sometimes might not be the ideal solution. Hope it’s useful, nice job so far!
code more! its great to see you again)
Nice to see that you're back to coding again!
Yeah Kalle back at coding ! I loved your video back then about programming some stuff in python. Like your trading bot and things like that.
You don’t know how stoked I am to see you coding again.
Our boy is back. 👏
Gott du är tillbaka! 🚀
another journey, keep up momentum :)
He's back!!!
welcome back!
Welcome back bro
If not code, what have you been doing mate? This past couple years

KALLE'S BACK
It's been a while, glad ur back
I'm coming back to programming after a year as well. Shaking the rust off is... tough. Next time I take a while off, I will schedule some exercises here and there at the very least to keep the cobwebs at bay
I remembered that days bro, watching ur vids and coding on projects.
The tech videos are back 🎉🎉🎉
Loved the intro, HAHA
"One app to rule them all..."
He's back with the vlogs, just like me haha let's goooo 💪
Here we go again, hope you will post regularly. Happy to see you again.
welcome back 🥰
legend came back
For your problem with the layout with 2/3 and 1/3, you could have used Flexible with a flex of 2 and 1.
welcome back boy
Nice seeing you back! May i ask what you've been doing for the past 2 years? :)
My man's back
welcome back comrade
Welcome back chieff
