Hey everyone! 😊 I know this isn’t a “programming tutorial”, however if you have been part of my channel for a long time, you’ll know that tutorials like this are also a part of what I upload. 🙂 I do have a Python course on the way, so stay tuned! But for now, I just wanted to show how to fix a simple issue I encountered, which might help others as well. 🙂

If I didn't find this video I was all ready to pirate it as a workaround for this bullshit. I had been playing just fine a few months ago and took a break and I come back to this. Absolutely insane. Thanks man, have been pulling my hair out trying everything to fix this issue. I was playing Fallen Order originally with the Dualsense controller, went to hospital and when I came back suddenly the controller would only allow me to use the camera joystick, circle button (however for some reason it was the X button as it would make me jump) and the triggers that allowed me to attack and block. Couldn't move or do anything else with the controller. The strange thing for me too is the fact that in the menus the controller would function as intended but as soon as I would load into the game it would act strangely again. I tried disconnecting the controller, reinstalling the controller drivers, trying a different controller, reinstalling the game, verifying the game files, clearing the EA App cache, trying all the controller options in Steam, reassigning all the buttons on the controller, you name it nothing would work. After several days of accepting defeat and resorting to keyboard and mouse which is definitely not ideal for this game, I found your video. RUclips didn't recommend it to me the first few days. Thank you so much.
Fixed my issue of running a wireless Xbox One controller. It worked intermittently, like the pause button wouldnt work and the button props would show in keyboard format. Now everything is good after following this.

amazing dude, this other tutorial wanted me to download a third party software to make my remoter act like a xbox remote. this is much simpler and can be used on other games too as a solution. thank you very much sir
Thank you so so much!! I saw some steam community posts saying what to do but not really explaining it and this really helped me!! I just got the game for steam summer sale and was worried I would just have to refund it.
I did what you said but it wasnt working, I then went into the game and open the steam overlay and turned on steam overlay and enabled steam input while in the game and that fixed it.
Thank you so much. This video deserves so many more view. It’s so annoying that the EA launcher is required for this game on PC. EA is a nightmare to deal with.

i found out the solution. you have to open task manager and make sure that ea is not already running before you open ea desktop so just open task manager and close ea then it should work

Uh books… hmmm… honestly I haven’t used a book for programming during the last 10 years, so I’m not sure what’s out there. I’m not sure what you mean by “to complete my PHP tutorials”, but if you mean what to do after completing my course, then I think paid courses would provide a more practical “next step”. Or you could look into learning a PHP framework like Laravel, since you HAVE to learn a framework, if you plan on working with web development as a job. 🙂

how to add the star wars jedi survivor game to steam? i tried adding it but it says JediSurvivor not what yours says and it only runs for 3 seconds then stops
Guys, I figured it out: your issue could be completely unrelated to EA. If your controller is connected as player 2, you will get the exact same issue where none of the buttons work. This is a common issue I get on Windows. Simply restart your computer.

OK, playing with Steam controller. It was already a bit unreliable with Fallen Order if I didn't start from the EA launcher. I got Survivor as a non-Steam game from a hardware promotion and it was impossible. Following these steps for the letter fixed it.

Ok I added the EADesktop, and it runs for 3 seconds then stops, is there a way to keep it running longer? I am not selecting the wrong one I’ve used every other file in there to make sure I didn’t.
Usual it means the EA app is already running somewhere in the background when you try to open via steam. Default setting of the EA app is launch when pc start up. Disabled this and restart pc. Then open via steam fixed it for me
This procedure worked for me yesterday and I played a few hours (steam link + Xbox controller). Today however it's not working anymore, when I try to launch ea desktop from steam the steam icon is the only thing showing spinning forever and ea desktop launches in the background and the controller stops working. Wtf? I hate EA

Hey Deni really love your tutorials but I do own ps4 controller there problem with it cannot reconnect paired controller after sometime or when I disconnect. I have to remove the paired connection then re-pair and use it same process all time to re-connect
Hey, my EA desktop won't stay running anymore. it worked at first but now it just runs and stops itself. You said the reason might be because it's not a "Non-steam" game -and it is. It's still a nonsteam game but this issue persists. i really like this game but I'm dissapointed in EA for creating this problem for every pc player

Hey, i added the exact EADesktop application you said but for some reason it says running for a few seconds then doesnt anymore, any idea why that is? Also do you know why when i play jedi survivor with a controller it still shows the keyboard keys in game instead of the controller buttons

72 minutes of trying to get this game to work. I was quite frustrated and almost refunded the game entirely. This would have been my first refund of any product in years, and my second refund ever in steam. Idk if I will ever buy an EA game ever again.

This worked for me thank you! I had to open the overlay and turn on "enable steam input" for a second time from within the overlay

it's the same for me... but I can't find a desktop.exe, just the launcher
You need to go into task manager and end all EA tasks
