Being in an unintentional asmr video as a teacher is a sign to get another job or boost your energy before class. You're not supposed to talk your students to sleep 😅
Many have pointed out that this is not actually a math lecture but about Minsky's career and the history of AI. However i recently learned that the math written on the board is the axiom of sigma additivity of probability, which states that the union of a set of disjoint probabilities is equal to the sum of those probabilities. For example: flipping a coin, the probabilities are 1/2 for heads and 1/2 for tails, but the probability of heads OR tails = 1/2 + 1/2 = 2/2 = 1.
I came here for ASMR and found myself listening to someone who ate lunch with J. Robert Oppenheimer and Albert Einstein! @6:03, OMG, it's fascinating to virtually sit in this class! I stayed awake and paid more attention than I wanted. Rest in peace, Professor Minsky.

Great video
Time stamp?
Right around 5:00
I used to go to theorical driving lessons (10h minimum mandatory in my country) and the instructor's voice was so soothing, it would release all my stress from work and college. Ended up taking 32h classes 😂
i have always thought that decorating my room like a classroom and sleeping hunched over in a desk would solve my insomnia
That was amazing. I fell asleep several times but i also woke up during some important talking points. But more importantly I received a great night’s sleep
Minsky is profoundly intelligent but that's one interpretation of Eastern philosophy; Buddha's emphasis on compassion, for instance, can be proved soley on the basis that kindness does create happiness and thus meaning. Anyway, I should be sleeping.
His voice and long pauses puts me to sleep. I suffer from insomnia which is why I came here, I tried to concentrate as hard as I can on the lecture and try to understand and I'm out in 2 minutes
I love his mannerisms and body language.
Do yall notice how much he touches everything on the table? lol
Yes I hate it
He may be a bit nervous around Poole it’s not a big deal
I had a prof who did this all the time. I used to count how many times in a class he'd raise his coffee mug to his mouth, yet never take a drink. Odd nervous habit, I guess. Kind of a visual ASMR trigger, though.
This lecture is like 10% math and 90% mindfuck
I watched this to fall asleep, but here i am at 4 am more interested than ever at what I’m listening to. What’s happening to me????
Curious
Happy New Year! Good night everyone!
Came for the ASMR, stayed for the content
Upanishads written 4000 years ago have volumes dedicated to science, math, medicine surgery. Confucius has extensively proven his theories. It's possible that lack of access in this professor's time lead a lack in his knowledge. Now everything is available on Google. This video is a great testament to how access to knowledge has shaped beliefs and this societies.
I had some of the best sleeps during my uni lectures. God I miss those days
«I like the old one better» Typical math teachers😅
This edited with all the questions removed would be the best asmr there is.
Can you imagine if this was your 8am class and you forgot your coffee/monster
I just wanted some background noise to fall asleep to, but now I’ve been up for 4 days straight solving quantum mechanics problems.
i strive to be like this man. hes just so chill and nonchalant as he (quite literally) takes this room full of kids to school. y'all know this man fucks.
Epatein vibes from this comment
What a stupid comment...
The first discussion is so interesting. Calculus was the turning point in mathematics
12:52 can people share their opinions on their argument? im siding with the students because i want people to talk about it, and i agree with her. i was side-eyeing the prof. very intelligent man tho
I agree
This man was legendary! I adore this lecture!
For me this is what perfect natural asmr is all about, a gentle voice not sharp, and he makes the mouth sound that many elderly people makes. Im in asmr heaven...
Even as I’m drifting to sleep listening to this I always crack a chuckle at 2:11 when he says “-and if there not, I get really pissed off.” I want to know how that would work.
His voice sounds like blankets
hahahah I can hear that
It's really well edited, thank you.
Being in an unintentional asmr video as a teacher is a sign to get another job or boost your energy before class. You're not supposed to talk your students to sleep 😅
It's better than punching them to sleep
Many have pointed out that this is not actually a math lecture but about Minsky's career and the history of AI. However i recently learned that the math written on the board is the axiom of sigma additivity of probability, which states that the union of a set of disjoint probabilities is equal to the sum of those probabilities. For example: flipping a coin, the probabilities are 1/2 for heads and 1/2 for tails, but the probability of heads OR tails = 1/2 + 1/2 = 2/2 = 1.
Minsky was a giant in computer science.
This man looks so sweet and open to share what passionates him😍😍😍
He visited Epsteins island a couple of times lol
Bro I didn’t Héctor Salamanca was so good at math!!
4:17:35 Honestly such a great question and even greater answer. Im sure that many people can relate
This video just helped get one of the best naps of my life
