Nick has built a Suit (fanbase) around the world.
All I'm going to say is....I'm ready for Nicks solo in-review of suits ❤
Kris Anka’s artwork on Spiderverse is incredible! Love that dudes work
"The last thing I want to do is overhype this"

(Chronic Overhyper Of Things)
I don't think he can help himself. Lol.
A quick correction on the box office numbers, as Andy was correct in thinking those Guardians numbers sounded low: Kris was likely referring to just the North American box office numbers, where Spider-Verse just passed Guardians 3, though they are basically tied ($357.6m vs.$357.5m). But when looking at the worldwide total grosses, Guardians 3 is at $841m and Spider-Verse is at $642m.
Both are huge successes though, with Across the Spider-Verse having a huge increase over the original's $384m.
Came here to point out the same thing cause that just didn't seem right at all lol
Nick had one sip of prime, got lock jaw, and lost his vision.
0:20 in and already we have unhinged nick and greg this is gonna be a good episode
Kris Anka's career is NUTS
Greg keeps saying that we are getting over the hangover that endgame left is a bit absurd considering how hyped/excited the KF crew were about Spider-Man no way home.
Just dive right into roasting Nick 😂😂
Guardians 3 made $840mil don't get it twisted. The headline was Spider-verse passed GotG in Domestic numbers (both are around $350mil). And Spider-verse's total is around $600mil
exactly, i feel like people just try use one metric for their argument. usually using domestic box office numbers.
I love seeing Kris come on the show. I know everyone loves him for his Spider-Verse/My Adventures of Superman designs, but his Hellfire Gala designs go hard too. Holywood's cool and all, but goddamn I need Kris doing some more comics!
Edit: I got farther into the episode. Nvm, I don't Kris doing comics. I need him doing stuff he loves!
The Hellfire Gala was so sick
Thumbnail pic of James Gunn looks kinda like Greg Miller when her turns full silver fox
Nick just immediately catching strays
As was mentioned before, Nick watching Suits before the show was Nick prepping for the show. It's his new obsession...so part of the show lol
What frustrates me is how what made a lot of the best MCU movies to me was seeing characters interact and team up. We haven’t seen that at all really. Something in me makes me think it’s a studio note that they can’t afford to have actors do multiple movies or shows now.
Always glad to be here guys 👍👍
God damn. I can't imagine getting through a week without that KF energy from the podcast. Thanks boys!
Nick during Aquaman in review” this movie is garbage” nick anytime he compared it to another movie “Aquaman was a fun movie”
Warby Parker has optometrists now. And they're available for walk-ins. Mike has no excuse...that being said...when's Andy gonna get that Mac and cheese?
Suits in review feat. Kris Anka
Awesome I’m glad they remembered to do this Convo and they got the goat on the pod too 🔥
Prime: The official drink of FF16's Dominants
And love that Kris brought up Sean Galloway. Spectacular Spider-Man was so good and deserved more love. I'm a 90s kid, with immense love for TAS, but Spectacular might beat it out, or is at least tied in my mind.
While both are subject to the whims of their corporate overlords, the DCU has an actual artist in charge while the MCU is being led by an executive. Because of this I’m expecting to see a more diverse variety of tones, subject matter, and narratives coming out of the future DCU films. Can’t say the same about the MCU.
Where was Danny DeVito’s “Man-Spider” from air’s always Sunny in Philadelphia?
Greg has to read the current Superman run by Joshua williamson, it is sooooo good
Of course Prime is too sweet for Optimmy Bobby, his favorite drink's ingredients are water, bubbles and someone 3 blocks away whispering into a pillow smothering their face saying, _"Flavor"_ .
Daaaaaaaamn Tim got heated at Kris there at the end.
Blue beatle also started out as a streaming movie got moved over because it is seen as being too good for streaming. Also a tax write off makes no sense unless the Batgirl movie was really bad and would have hurt the brand. James Gunn confirmed that George Clooney will not be the DCU batman. Guardians made over 800 million worldwide.
Nick, trust: stop watching Suits when season 7 finishes
The "Suits" Era will live on in Kinda Funny history/lore and most people in the future will assume there was a period where the guys wore suits on stream.
I wish they had really got into the future projects slated right now and their thoughts and predictions.
I see everyone in the general audiance being back on the bandwagon for secret wars understanding what that can be, I just believe the root issue is what Tim was trying to address of social media and just general expectations truely being the thiefs of joy.
People cannot just enjoy things anymorw without making a list, or taking on the thoughts of someone on twitter, just enjoy things.
Trying to catch up on Podcasts... Tim's Secret Invasion review did NOT age well. Great Podcast though!
Hmm, feel the marvel and DC conversation was a little backwards. The idea of being very excited for the DC stuff because "they don't have to be that great, just fun" is a little harsh on the MCU when the stuff at the moment is getting criticism for not being that great... 🤔🤔
So...Nick has FINALLY done coke. Good for him.
As a casual watcher, the conversation @1:03:00 is exactly why I hate the DCEU and can't bring myself to care about it. Which batman do I need to care about? Are there two Jokers? Why are there two suicide squads and which one matters? It isn't an extended universe, it's a fever dream and I can't keep it straight. I would still take MCU.
I think the MCU plan after End Game was just straight up bad. After End Game, they should haved line up Fantastic 4 , X-men and Blade (Good well known IP), setting like Doom or Galactus as the new big vilain (Kang is wack, i don't care about what anybody think of it). As some point, a couple movies in, you do an Avengers VS X-Men or something. This would have felt way more fresh to let all the character of the last 10 years behind for a while and start semi-fresh with new iteration of character we never saw in the MCU. Like, no disrespect to the actor, I'm talk only on the characters but, The Thunderbolts, Ms Marvel and all those type of b-side character they now tried to use primetime are character that I really don't care about, for some reason.
god i wish they wouldn't talk about health stuff when they don't know about it. Aspartame is declared potentially carcinogenic, on the same level as pickles.
Funny Tim brought up Velma, After all the hub ub... Season 2 on the way.
Hate watching still equals views, which is all that matters for a streaming service. Lol.
MCU is the easy answer and I mean easy, I am excited for the new Superman but nothing else Gunn announced. Also it being spotty what is being carried over muddied it completely.
I’m just waiting for DC to finally make a Static movie and maybe a Titans movie like the og show
Amazing start to the podcast lol And Kris you’re so freaking cool and talented as hell.
To answer Andy’s question, the version of the authority that James Gunn is producing is basically the boys before the boys existed.
It’s not though. It’s more like what an R-Rated MCU Avengers team would look like. A group of godlike beings with no oversight, no restraint, unlimited power, and unlimited funding. The comicbook DNA is even there - the MCU is inspired by the Ultimates and the Ultimates were inspired by the Authority. They’re not good guys for sure, but they’re not depraved like the members of The Seven are.
@@cam4748 so no… u misunderstand what I meant, the boys comic book exist only to be gross and offensive, while the show is much more like Watchmen rather than the comic, which is more like a Deadpool game. The authority run that James Gunn name dropped is closer to the idea of imperfect superhero’s and gods, comparable to the boys as it exist now, is a smart show with concepts, rather than just being “r rated MCU “ which is not the point of the boys tv show or the point of the authority comic
You liked batman not because it wasnt connected to anything. You liked it because its a great movie.
They're making mistakes not drinking ghost
The multiverse stuff messed up the mcu for me
How about this instead marvel and dc working together and giving us a crossover fighting game.
Isn't Prime under investigation by the FDA? Lol
And THAT, Andrés, is why we don't do CZs
My co worker is watching suits rn and my mom started watching it this weekend. Idk how but this is nicks fault.
I dont even think it's super hero fatigue for me honestly. Its just that the writing and poor story choices have been pretty bad lately. It almost feels like they got rid of all the writers from previous projects.
Also I love how they never once mention James Gunn co ceo or his team of comic book writers
I know tim touched on it a little bit but , i honestly feel ezra miller sunk the ship on the flash with how toxic there actions have been and especially now more then ever they are saying they were treated unfairly by the law, they need to remember, THEY were posting up on instagram " try to catch me" (or something like that, i dont remember the actual phrasing) but THEY were complicit with their actions, they are super problematic and im glad there movie sunk, they need to be recasted, i dont belive in cancel culture but they didnt serve any time and dont seem at all remorseful, especially with the current news articles that , they say they were treated unfairly, this L they got was much deserved
That's where I super, super disagree with Greg. I'm honestly tired of Batman, I'm not really a big Superman guy, I don't need another Iron Man or Captain America, or the established characters we've seen dozens of times over. I want the new, I want the weird, I want Blue Beetle and Swamp Thing and Fantastic Four and more Werewolf By Night and the stuff that most people don't and/or won't ever give a shit about. I've been reading comics for 40 years, I want the dumb, super weird, nearly unadaptable stuff that made me fall in love with comics in the first place.
Oh boys I saw Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning 1 early & I cannot wait for your review - I do have 1 large complaint but it’s a spoiler so I won’t say anything BUT this is up there with Mad Max Fury Road or John Wick 4 as one of the best action movies ever ❤🎉❤🎉
$1000 bet that James Gunn’s DC will NOT last 15 yrs like MCU has done & will not make the money MCU had up till now 😂
I'd be fine with the DCU not lasting as long. The MCU has been on a decline since Endgame. Yeah, there are still some good movies, but the quality has definitely taken a hit, along with the mostly mediocre shows.
Which Spider-Man did Tim say he never saw? To me it sounds like he just said “never saw Spider-Man “ is that a joke that’s flying over my head?
I never like to be the downer, so sorry in advance. I really don't have high hopes for the DCU. The projects Gunn announced feel so weird and disjointed to me. When I watched the video with all the announcements, this felt like there was absolutely zero way this will be a stable foundation for a film universe, financially and story-wise. The individual projects could absolutely be good, but I am far more unexcited for them as a universe than I am for the future of the MCU.
Honestly they shouldn't need to focus on universe building. DC has always had their Elseworlds brand, and I'd rather them do that then force a universe. It, for the most part, didn't work well with the DCEU, and they showed with Joker and The Batman that they can still make great singular films.
@@War624 Your points are, of course, legitimate. I'm more talking about my reaction to what they are doing as opposed to what they should be doing.
James Gunn is not the Kevin Feige of the DCU. Guys please get your facts straight. James Gunn handles the creative side, Peter Safran handles the biz side.
everyone's wearing suits
As someone who follows the box office and movie industry closely, this episode was rough to watch. So much misinformation or things based on comic book news sites, and not reliable sources.
- There’s no proof Marvel has the rights to make a Hulk movie back. They have the rights to The Incredible Hulk (2008) since it’s been 15 years.
- As someone else corrected, Spider-Verse isn’t close to Guardians 3’s box office worldwide. Guardians 3 will end about $200m WW
- The AI intro for Secret Invasion isn’t entirely true. Too long of a topic to go into it here, but you can easily find out the truth and how it was blown out of proportion.
- Yes, The Flash is very likely the biggest bomb of all time, but Indy 5 is about to overtake it lol.
- The Flash didn’t do great at the box office, however the reason it’s such a bomb is because of its massive budget. It still made a lot more than Shazam 2 for example, it just comes down to budget.
- Aquaman 2 production problems are also from sites that aren’t reputable. Kris just saw a headline on Twitter likely and took it as fact. That’s what a lot of his information sounds like. He hasn’t looked into any of it.
Off topic, but in my opinion, Kris is a very negative person and comes across pretentious. He’s exhausting to listen to.
Kinda Funny doesn't know, when MCU's BattleWorld saga begins, they gonna learn
Nick” this captor looks too much like Superman” wtf is this guys deal, he does this just for the interaction right?
can WB get out of their own way for DC to succeed. can the suits with no creative background stop from ruining dc movies behind the scenes. doubtful. WB took dc from a place of pride to a joke and nobody wants to or goes to see their movies.
when WB suits ruined justice league in 2017 it was a death bell for dc, it struggled along for a couple years and then completely flatlined.
imagine a world were zack snyder was never removed from JL. Dc movies would be in an amazing state. considering how good zack snyders justice league was, how well it did financially and critically. just proved that zack was the key to DC. haters gonna hate. but dc failure shows wb is the problem.
Nick himself said he was watching it during his break. The rest of them needs to stop lying on him I swear
Jesus Christ, thanks for the (NO!) spoiler warning/s for multiple parts of "The Flash"?! Not all of us have seen it yet, ya' buncha' knuckleheads!!! 😢
Aquaman and Shazaam was terrible I don’t know how people like those movies
Endgame ruined the MCU… no more stakes we can just time travel and refix everything
DCU wins for me.
Or the old DCEU thing they did.
I’d rather see 100 Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, BVS and James Gunn’s Suicide Squad than the majority of the Marvel films.
Contrary to what people believe, it was the DCEU films that were lighter and more colourful. They had less quips but at least they were about something. The Marvel films have mostly been floating by harmlessly based on their films being identical in tone I.e the same tone as the first Iron Man had.
