Every day Greg Miller, Tim Gettys, and Nick Scarpino talk about the biggest stories in nerd culture. - Развлечения
If this was 2 hours of Greg saying "TONYYYYY" over and over I'd probably still listen to the whole thing
"Avengers 4: Gamora's Dead"
Uh . . . . .
Avengers 4: Gamora's dead is a far more foreshadowing joke title than they realized.
The movie is 2:29:09, the review is 2:14:49.
I'm not complaining.
Lou P 4
Greg & Tim arguing for Cap & Iron Man's sides is exactly why this movie works.
1:46:10 Steve found out Hydra had Howard Stark killed in The Winter Soldier when he was talking to AI Zola. He didn't know it was Bucky who killed him, but you can assume some time after the movie he finds out or suspects it.
joe haley and this presumedly would've been confirmed after Bucky likely explained where the super soldier serum came from to create more winter soldiers. "I sorta killed Howard Stark for it" etc.
Also, Tony didn't know from the Hydra/Shield files because Zemo says it was millions of files and codes to sort through and only someone experienced doing that could have found it as fast as he did.
pianist150 Didnt it also not fully explain what happened? I got the feeling that only thing in the files was ALLUDING to stuff the Winter Soldier did. Cap put it together because of Zola telling him.
But i always got the sense that anything involving Winter Soldier or any other of the super soldiers is all super duper hush hush. Hence him getting the idea from the files but having to hunt down the people who would know and take the info from them in CW
Holy shit guys! 2 hours!!!?!?! Let's fucking gooooo!
Civil War is amazing from start to finish. The characters are well balanced, while still somehow being Cap's movie, both sides are presented and argued well, and that airport scene is a dream come true.
But the best part? The best part is that the Russo Bros set up a standard third act with the super soldiers (even tho it would've been cool seeing that fight) but completely change it into something personal and with meaning and weight.
This movie is probably number 2 for me, right under Winter Soldier. The Russo's are beasts!
Alex Love One of the greatest twists in a screenplay ever in my opinion. Better than Usual Suspects and Sixth Sense IMO. Because it was after Iron man asked "Did you know!!?!" That i and alot of viewers realized "o shit.... he does from Winter Soldier!!whoooaaa o noooooo"
Greg’s enlightenment of Chadwick Boseman’s age is so genuinely hilarious and was literally me
That 2 hour runtime! This is going to be great
Zemo says earlier in the film that even with all Hydra/Shield information leaking he still needed to decrypt some but he couldn't find information about that day where Tony's parents died. That's why Iron Man never found out what happened to his parents.
The groups joy in describing moments in this movie is EXACTLY how I feel
2 hours?! Man this’ll be GOOOOOD
MarioNotBros I usually like these to be longer, but for some reason these guys seemed like they just wanted to get out of there by the end. They seemed really burnt out toward the end of the vid.
2 hours! My Tuesday just got that much better
An interesting point is that both Tony and Cap have both shaped their arguments based on their respective movies. Every movie that Tony is in, he is the reason for the villain. Vulture in Homecoming, Ultron, Obediah, etc. Whereas Cap has been betrayed by higher ups in his movies. The biggest example being Shield being Hydra. I think it added a lot of weight.
I absolutely love these reviews, but the beginning of this when you were just talking I found much more entertaining than the very very long recap.
Love the work regardless and love just listening to yall hang out, but would like to see more of what we saw to start this video.
TONNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYY!
I now only hear this in Greg's impression.
Man Greg really hit the Avengers 4 name hard on the head...
"Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world - "No, you move."
One of my favorite quotes ever, gave me chills the first time I read it LOL

Kevin's call of Infinity war being 325 million is bang on!
I absolutely love the length and the show is amazing content throughout. This is definitely my favorite content that Kinda Funny is putting out right now and that is saying a lot because you guys are fantastic. Keep up the amazing work.
geez 2 hours, time to strap in for the long haul
This review is 4 years old, yet Tim's assertion that the movie not explicitly telling us what happened between Tony and Pepper qualifies as a "plothole" is every bit as infuriating as it was in 2018.
Guys the mutants had nothing to do with Civil War in the comics. They stayed out of the conflict. Nothing about the main Civil War event was caused by or dealt with Mutants. You guys are confusing it because of the word registration. The X-Men films and cartoon dealt with registration, Civil War was “Avengers” centric.
Langley M Neely
I think you’re right, but wasn’t the superhero registration act brought up after the nuclear incident with that mutant, similar to (but on a lesser scale) how it was brought up in the movie after what Scarlet Witch caused (tho it was dumb because Crossbones would’ve killed many innocents anyway including a valuable asset in Cap).
Paul Rudd was so damn funny in this movie. I love how when they first show him he's laying down in the van and he's like "what time zone am I in?" lol and then part where he goes down in the fight and he's like anybody got any orange slices haha.
Finex3000 There was something that always bothered me about that scene. I love that scene. But when he turns sround to Scarlet Witch and goes "your great too!"......... i thought wait a minute.....wouldnt she have been in the Van with Hawkeye? They just left Avengers HQ taking down vision...... and bucky is with falcon and cap in the VW bug.......
So did hawkeye drop her off at the airport, get antman and come back? Did she get dropped off and roll with Cap and co. In the VW bug? Cuz thats a tight fit.
Did they blindfold antman? Was she hiding under a tarp in the Van? Idk why this drives me so crazy. But it does
My list so far:
1. Captain America: Civil War (2016) - Debated between this or Winter Soldier being better but this just has so many cool moments.
2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) - The best standalone film which is a great film overall and not just as a superhero film.
3. Marvel’s The Avengers (2012) - Although it wasn't as good as I remembered. The highs are still so memorable.
4. Iron Man (2008) - Better than I remembered. Now I see why people think this is the best movie. Easily a classic.
5. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) - Had so much more fun watching this than the first time. Introduces and makes us love these characters so easily.
6. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) - Way better than I remembered. So many good moments but cannot compete with the other team up movies.
7. Iron Man 2 (2010) - Way better than I remembered. Thought this would be bad but was so much fun to watch. So many fun characters and interactions.
8. Ant-Man (2015) - Way better than I remembered. Paul Rudd and Michael Pena take this movie from potentially bad to great.
9. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) - Meh, this is mainly because Cap is my favourite character but also the movie has a lot of heart.
10. Iron Man 3 (2013) - Way better than I remembered. I thought this would be garbage but it was surprisingly entertaining if you turn your brain off.
11. Thor: The Dark World (2013) - Way better than I remembered. Same reason as Iron Man 3 but doesn't have the RDJ charm, although Loki might be as awesome.
12. Thor (2011) - Worse than I remembered. Hated the diagonal camera stuff, took me completely out of the movie. Still kind of fun but entirely forgettable.
13. Incredible Hulk (2008) - Don't even remember watching it the first time, probably won't ever watch again.
Not including Black Panther yet because it needs a second watch to be fair but probably above Captain America: The First Avenger. I don't understand how Incredible Hulk is so high up on Kinda Funny's list. Andy was right (I think it was him), it was so forgettable, little to no comedy prevented me from having fun at the very least, and the villain was just laughably bad (although so was Malekith).
1:46:12 The reason Captain America knew about Tony's parents was because Computer Zola hinted that the Winter Soldier was involved in their deaths in the last Cap movie here: ruclips.net/video/KwjXPA8mZYk/видео.htmlm5s
Love how these are becoming longer than the MCU films themselves :) great content!
Holy Moly Andy dropping that big kid line had me crying!
Dudes, you guys are killing it lately. So entertaining to watch. Love the tangents!
Infinity war has to be 3+ hrs
2 hours 36 minutes according to fandango
Kendall Etten-Bohm I think he meant the review.
James Metoudi oh good point, that would be awesome
Ya I meant the review
Two Hours!?!? STRAP INNN!
Hearing them geek out at Chadwick Boseman being 41 years old (55:50) which was so funny at the time, hurts so much now. Who thought he'd be gone by 43?
If any MCU movie deserved a 2 hour video discussion from KF, its this movie! You guys somehow made me like this movie even more than I already did which is crazy! My favorite MCU flick, and guys, please do a 2 hour MCU in Review for Infinity War! thanks
End credit scene to this video was fantastic, time to get a kinda funny hat
11:12 So I’m rewatching some various MCU movies and rewatching these reviews with them and I never noticed this moment from Kevin, I’m dying lol
I agree with Tim, _The Winter Soldier_ is a superior film to _Civil War_
Totally!
The problem I have with Civil War is the core premise that Tony and other Avengers would be convinced to be under United Nations control because of ‘collateral damage’ from the NYC incident - you know, that incident where the Avengers literally saved the entire planet from an alien invasion - but we’re all supposed to believe now they feel guilty for - because of accidental loss of life and property - this premise makes no sense - I don’t believe for a minute Tony would be convinced by this and how does being under U.N. control stop collateral damage exactly?
Also, after SHIELD was compromised by HYDRA - who says the U.N. isn’t or won’t be in the future
Winter Soldier is a far better film in every way - and doesn’t rely on any leaps of logic in order to fully enjoy!!
Was anybody else super distracted at about 11:00 when Greg had to blow his nose?
I agree with TIm, I think The Winter Soldier is a spotless movie. It's tone and story is perfect throughout. I do think Civil War has higher highs, but also lower lows. I think that consistency makes Winter Soldier a better film, while the exciting highs of Civil War makes it feel like a more fun movie.
For me it feels like a tie, but if I had to choose I would choose Winter Soldier.
He found out Howard Stark was murdered by Hydra in Zola's bunker during Winter Soldier. It doesn't say who did it.
Loved every minute of this!!
I love it when you guys go long on the shows like when Gary Witta and Jared Petty were on KFGD and went extra long that was rad. Like feel free to go long once every 2 weeks or something this is rad man.
Captain America learns about Stark's parents from Zola in CA: Winter Soldier in the secret SHIELD base
I wait for this every week. I love it
Cap says "thats enough" because he sees Scarlet Witch's reaction to Lagos and the guilt she feels.
God I love this show
Edit: Also totally on team Cap
Wrong side of history. - Greg
;-; Still love you Greg even if you're one of those Ironman goofballs
Greg is team iron man, although iron man himself admits he was wrong and will have to arrest himself for going vs the accords in attempting to stop the super soldiers
I could have sworn Greg said he never cared about Cap until he started agreeing with him.
Team Cap for life.
Team Cap all the way
The greatest superhero trilogy of all time... come at me
Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy is Legendary. Cap trilogy is amazing tho :)
Trey Woods Cap wins easily. First Batman, boring.
Second Batman, incredible.
Third Batman, nonsensical shit.
First cap, boring.
Second cap, incredible.
Third cap, even more incredible.
The Archetype
It’s not a bold thing to say, it’s up there with the Nolan trilogy.
I would go with the Batman trilogy. The first cap film is the worst of the six movies in my opinion. The Dark Knight is probably the best of the six. And while Winter soldier and civil war would easily be 2 and 3, civil war feels a bit like cheating cuz half the best parts of the movie are other characters interacting without cap. So I give a slight edge to Batman.
I would have to agree besides the fact that these movies rely so heavily on the other MCU films outside the trilogy that it really doesn’t count as a trilogy.
Agents of SHIELD Fun Fact: Jeffrey Mace, the Director of SHIELD in Season 4, was in the crowd when the Vienna explosion happened.
I remember when this movie came out and people said that Zemo's plan didn't make sense and that he was just lucky that they found him in Siberia. These people failed to realise that his plan wasn't for them to find him in Siberia, he obviously just went there to get the tape, when he was interrupted by Steve, Buck and Tony.
Fucking love this movie and I fucking loved this review, easily the best one you guys have made!
They talk about how long they're going, and they go twice as long lol I LOVE it!
jesus 2 hours must be a great show. this podcast is the highlight of my tuesdays
Favorite part of the movie:
"Hey buddy I think you dropped this!"
Completely sold me on Tom Holland as Spiderman
Me and my friends are doing marathons for each phase. Haven't done phase 3 yet but when we're done I'll post our rankings for sure!
4:14 Did this dude just confuse Peter Jackson with Kevin Smith? Loved the dunesten checks in reference prior.
2:05 Greg spoils infinity war
funny seeing them bring up cap being part of hydra, knowing the moment in endgame
Missed easter egg*
When ant man is in tony starks suit and says hes his conscious and they havent talked in awhile which is the same interaction from finding nemo with dory and marlin in the dark.
You guys didn't mention this but the trailer for this movie is PHENOMENAL
Love that they got the scene from the comics where iron man blast right into caps shield and it deflects everywhere
Great video guys. Totally team Cap with Kevin and Tim. Also I just realized something awesome about Cap and Bucky. Both of them were in Wakanda, so they're probably going to be outfitted with some dope Wakandan tech and suits from Shuri! That's why his suit looks so different.
When Tony and Cap are fighting and Iron man starts kicking his ass, he uses the propulsion from his hand to push the initial force of his elbow into caps face. The attention to detail was unreallllll and so creative
When Friday starts kicking Cap's ass. Tony was getting wrecked. "Ya can't beat him hand to hand!" Gives me a little twinge of a chill.
2 hours and 14 minutes, YAAAAAASSSSSS
FINALLY, the best one.
Props to Andy for the credit scene.... Nicks cameo is the best!
That bonus scene at the end. Glorious!
2:15 Wow They Predicted The Future!😯
1:45:00 So, in Winter Soldier the A.I. Zola actually reveals that the Winter Soldier killed Howard Stark. That is how Cap knew, and this extra-sensitive information was destroyed when they bombed the bunker moments after. The info simply wasn't part of the leak, which is WHY Zemo is going around asking everyone for the mission report.
Tony thought his parents were killed in a car accident. However Steve found out they were murdered during the Arnim Zola computer scene in Winter Soldier. Where the newspaper article about their accident flashes across the scene as Zola was explaining how Hydra integrated themselves in SHIELD. Steve just put two and two together
Holy shit, Tim is Cap and Nick is Iron Man in this review. Bongos is Scarlet Johannson. Wow that cut scene. Damn haha
My main concern with Civil War is Vision deliberately trying to kill falcon, that beam knocked out rhodey, but it would have murdered Sam
He was "aiming for the thrusters to turn him into a glider"
Am I the only one get like dies inside every time Nick says Scarlet Witch when he means Black Widow 😭😡 kills me haha
Yep, Civil War is the best MCU movie, it was even better than I remembered. Finally, a film de-throned The Avengers for me taking the number one spot in my Rankings.
My updated rankings:
1) Captain America: Civil War
2) The Avengers
3) Guardians of the Galaxy
4) Captain America: The First Avenger
5) Captain America: The Winter Soldier
6) Avengers: Age of Ultron
7) Ant-Man
8) Iron Man
9) Thor
10) Iron Man 2
11) The Incredible Hulk
12) Thor: The Dark World
13) Iron Man 3
T.J. Williams agree with most of it but ya lost me when you put a movie with Robert Downey Jr. after any Thor movie.
Whoa! Dark World over Iron Man 3!?
T.J. Williams The First Avenger isn't better than Winter Soldier
best post credits scene yet
OMG the stingers at the end of these get better and better xD HAHAHAH!
Love the contrast from your original review
The reported Budget for Infinity War is 500 million, as it’s supposedly a billion dollar budget that was given for both Avengers 3 and 4. The independent reported that based on comments from Dan Cathy who is co-owner of the studio they were shooting it on in Atlanta.
Also for how Captain America knows about Bucky killing his parents, in the winter soldier during Zola’s speech they flash the winter soldier and then show the newspaper clipping from December 17, 1991 of Starks parents dying in a car accident while Zola tells him that they took out the people in power, it’s fast but the fact that they use it in Civil War is brilliant.
In captain america 2 when they were in the bunker Zola said that sometimes we had to take people out who were in our way or something like that and he shows a picture of Howard Stark so that's how Cap knew he was murdered
1:31:02
Shout out to Tim shouting out Evenly Matched - $69 yu-gi-oh card - woop, woop!!!
We should do a new drinking game. Take a drink every time Greg says “I digress.” Just beer, I don’t want people to die.
XxCrankyMoosexX or when they say “hundred percent” when they agree to something
I need to study for finals but I guess that has to wait 2 hours now...
Glad somebody finally mentioned the two different characters having the same last name Ross. This always bugged me and confused me for the longest time. Thought the character was recast just like they did with the two different actors playing Howard Stark.
Greg, subsonic means below the speed of sound. Everyone can do that, not just iron man.
The fact that Iron Man 2 is so high really has me twisted... lol
The Marine Corps commercial should be cleaning the head(bathroom). Spending countless hours in the armory line to return your weapon, just to have the armored tell you your weapon isnt clean enough.
Cap knew something about the Bucky killing his parents from Winter Soldier-when he and Black Widow were in the bunker and Arnim Zola was showing him all this Hydra stuff.
Cap found out about how Tony's parents died through Zola's computer in Winter Soldier. In the section where Zola said "When history didn't cooperate, history was changed....accidents will happen." It shows Tony's parents deceased, obviously as a result of Winter Soldier assassinating them. That's how he knew.
I'm sure someone said it already since I'm late, but in Cap2 when Steve and Widow were talking to Zola/guy-stuck-in-a-computer he showed them a bunch of Hydra victims from over the years, and Howard Stark was one of them. I don't remember it perfectly, but it's heavily implied that Winter Soldier killed him.
Cap knew from his meeting with arnim zola in winter soldier when he shows him how hydra has been influencing the world. It shows Bucky being an assassin, and then shows shield agents they've eliminated aka Howard stark
My favorite Marvel movie so far... Captain America: Civil War.
lemme just add... hands down..THIS is the MCU movie TO BEAT.
Facts
Up to that point
@@webjakobe Yeah because Infinty War was even better.
Surprised Greg sides against Cap when Cap is basically pulling a Big Boss post-Snake Eater.
Also, the Fedex package robs this movie of a lot of weight. It takes that rift that they've been carving for two and a half hours and defuses it in ninety seconds of dialogue. Not an earned resolution, though it was probably necessary so they don't have to spend the first act of Avengers 3 mending it.
hahahaha the post credit for this one!!! it was great!!
Love the runtime of this video. But yeah, Steve found out Howard Stark was assassinated in Winter Soldier, in the bunker with Zemo.
56:00 Black don't crack!
@ 1:49:03 lol at the almonds and baby bird XD
I think alot of people who're underwhelmed with the movie missed the point; this wasn't supposed to be a physical big-scale Civil War like in the comicbooks (I mean c'mon they don't have half the characters that were in the original comicbook what did people expect), it's an ideological Civil War as in a rift not an actual "War" in fact most of the movies long lasting stakes (because yes the movie does have stakes death isn't the only way to have stakes) are ones that have affected the characters psychologically going forward which creates for a more engaging and complex narrative that I consider to be the best in the MCU, I mean this movie was so incredible it topped WS and that was my number 1 for years.
Just the fact that ranking the villain greg say: Number 14 This Fucks ( and we all know the fucks are Night Elves ) make this the best episode. Keep the good job guys
Really Great episode as usual!!!! :D
Here is my new ranking so far:
1. Captain America: Civil War
2. Avengers
3. Captain America: the Winter Soldier
4. Guardians of the Galaxy
5. Ironman
6. Avengers: Age of Ultron
7. Black Panther
8. Ironman 2
9. Captain America: The First Avenger
10. Antman
11. Ironman 3
12. Thor the Dark World
13. Thor
14. Hulk
Easily, my favorite MCU movie to date. It has all the awesome action that both Winter Soldier and Avengers has with serious story. All the characters had awesome moments. Super funny parts with falcon and Winter Solder, Spiderman and Ironman, and Antman. I love that people have mixed feelings for which side was in the right. I feel that Captain America was in the right about the law, but he really should have told Tony about his parents. Do not blame Tony for how he felt about that situation. Also, Spiderman is my all time favorite super hero, and him being in the MCU is a dream come true. - Zanfare
I'm on Tim s side The Civil War movie was so much better than the comic
Pedro Vicious Civil War: The Confession alone is proof that statement is not true
Mario Miranda Tony Stark hiring villains to hunt the heros ruines the comic for me
They're amazing in different ways. The problem with the comics is that you need background of a lot more than with the movie. You've got everyone from Wolverine to Ben Grimm weighing in on the issue and providing a complex landscape for it. Here you have a contained story with a handful of characters that you know from a handful of movies rather than every character ever from decades of comics.
Yeah, I AM AMAZED AT HOW GOOD GREG IS AT THE PLOT RECAPS. HOLY HELL!!!
