Haha, 😂 brilliant buddy...i spat my tea out when the water started to spray!!! I've been there before.. I've been toying with buying one of these freezing kits for some time now... And going to now thanks to you... Much appreciated though, and thanks for this humble, funny video... As a rule I always have push fit ends at hand or isolators.
I'm really glad you enjoyed it, what's life if you can't have a laugh, especially at ones own mistakes 😅. I too now keep push fits to hand, just in case, how ever they don't make them for micro bore. (not that I'm aware of anyway)? Good luck with the kit, please let me know how you get on with it. 👌💪
I had a near catastrophe yesterday with a 22 ml pipe which hadn't properly frozen despite using two cans of freeze spray and following all instructions to the letter. Planning ahead I already had an isolator valve turned to off and the nut and olive to hand plus spanners. Lucky I did because full mains pressure took as much strength as I had to force the valve on the cut end of the pipe. Best also to use a pipe slice rather than a hacksaw to make the cut so that you can slip the nut and olive on easily. My advice would be to prepare for the worst and don't assume the pipe has frozen!
I knew from the beginning that what I was doing was wrong, so I just went with it and did everything wrong. With all the other radiators I have since changed... I drained the system down and added isolation valves, probably ott, but it'll make things easier in the long term.
@@hersonpuman3316 It depends on a lot of things, how much of the freezer you use, how big the pipes are, ambient temperature etc. But looking at online comments, the average seems to be about 15minutes. Long enough to put a fitting on.
Close the radiator valves to stop water flow ,And then You are suppose to connect cable ties ,then cut a small hole in the pipe cover in the middle ,put the straw through it and spray in carbon dioxide, eventually you will hear the pipe make a cracking noise ,stop spraying wait two minutes for ice to form and then work away,
Think you did everything you possibly could do wrong in this situation. Half expected you to start sucking on the end of the pipe for no reason by the end of it. Glad it all worked out for you though.
Very brave of you to put this up, most entertaining 😂
We're only human 👍
Hilarious!! Relieved my tension when looking for info on trying to do the same task.. lmao.. thanks for posting!!
Haha glad you enjoyed it, I hope your job goes better than mine did 😆 please let me know how you get on with the kit!

Always have a push fit isolator handy and leave it open, it's easy to slot over the pipe when it's spraying then when it's on turn it off.
we live and learn....just know your sacrifice has probably saved many
And created a few laughs I hope... 👍

The best part is at 3:11
I hope it didn't make you cringe too much?
Freezing kits work 100% of the time if you use them right.
It took a bit of practise... sparkies and plumbing, eh?😉
How long can you keep it frozen with one can?

I've never used a freezing kit before but want to try...what's a good one to start with?

Thanks for that. I'll remember for next time 👍
As the pipe is microbore it must be a fairly modern system so why not just lower the pressure by draining off some through the radiator bleed?
That would have made the video boring 😉
What is the name of that freezing kit, and how much does it cost?
It's called Arctic pipe freezing kit, from Screwfix. Cost varies on which product you buy.
@@ChampionsOfTheTrade Excellent! I need to get one of those because I have several things around here that need to be worked on-thanks!
@@Munson-lz5gh let me know how you get on with it.
Just wondering, are you an electrician a plumber or simply a DIYer ?
I'm a qualified electrician, I only do diy for myself, and as you can probably tell by this episode, I don't do plumbing, hence being a home project.

Its a pure example of why you should always hire a professional and not have a go yourself when you haven't a clue how to do it. 👍
How did that not leak 😂 follow the instructions please don’t watch this video. You will flood your house in know time following this guide
That's why it's titled "How not to do it" 👍
