There's some things that only Mrs Plumberparts ought to see in close-up, thanks!
I thought the mains had to be 800mm deep to avoid freezing? I'm about to run MDPE from the meter at the boundary of our property to a new extension and Anglian Water's stuff seems to suggest I need to run it 800mm deep and under the footing in brown pipe.
Another great video James have a good weekend mate
I tried to freeze cupper once. It worked, but when it was defrosted, the pipe was broken. There was a hole in it. Not doing that again😅 Wasn’t with a spray like you, but with a electric one from rothenberger. Keep up the good work💪
Great video as always mate don't do much work with more so always good to see 👍
Good Tuesday morning to you sir and your family
Done it so well.
Great video James, just watched this as off school with an illness. Have you finished the bathroom series?
hi - thanks for your videos - very helpful and educational - looking to run mains water to a summerhouse in the garden but struggling with the source connection. The nearest source water connection is in my kitchen but means routing the MDPE pipe under the house foundations and up through what I think is a concrete & tiled floor in my kitchen. Ideally I would make the connection outside the house but this would be a much longer run all the way down the side of the house to the front and not practical. Any suggestions on the best way to get the MDPE inside without compromising the foundations / damp proof etc etc whilst also not damaging the MDPE pipe? thanks
another good video mate. one question i have though is can i use the MDPE fittings for Black Alkathene pipe? As im wanting change the location of my stop cock so it no longer comes up in the middle of the cupboard under the hob
Good video. Does anyone know how I can get the rubber 110mm end that the 25mm blue pipe comes out of in the property. I'm about to replace the lead at my place and the water company say the blue pipe has to be insulated and sealed in 110mm trunking. Would be grateful for any pointers....
You can use a squeeze off tool for this people, no need to freeze mdpe
Did you freeze and connect onto copper pipe?
can you please tell me where you got the drill attachment to clean the pipe up. ive looked everywhere. thanks
hi i have job to do, we have no idea were that mains stop tape is, MDPE pipe can i freeze it, hope you can help, many thanks tony
Hi, can I freeze 25mm Mdpe pipe, to install a valve ? Thanks
Nice one Jimmy, I like this type video where you're on site. Btw, not sure if its just me, but the volume on this vid is quite quiet? Had to turn my laptop speakers right up. No issue though, just thought i'd let you know
It's James..
Great vid as usual, excluding ass crack footage! Have you got a link to the deburring tool you used? Cheers🍺
Is that all 750mm deep?
Sure does not look to be the case, never mind the regs..
I see you mentioned Mr Bundy at the beginning and got me thinking, did he ever do the sockets and heating at your unit?
It's funny, seen his name pop up on a couple of vids and hadn't heard it since we were at school.
James, I think the title is meant to be "How to install...." not Hot?
Great video as always. Thank you.
Can I ask what depth the pipe needs to be laid when extending from the house to a shed etc. to prevent the water freezing in winter. Is there any requirement to put sharpe sand in the trench or is the pipe durable enough to prevent punctures? Thanks.
750mm
No more than 1350 I think but minimum 750
Anyone know the best way to fill the gap if ive got what looks to be cast iron pipe about 190mm external diameter and have a toilet going into it which is obviously your standard 4 inch pipe but need to fill the gap and not sure what best way to fill it is without it being a bodge
Answering in the next comments vid!
So if both houses run off Half inch pipe wouldn't water pressure be limited to one or both houses depending on fixtures saying if one house is using more water wouldn't the other be effected by it even if pipe was three quarter
Answering in the next comments vid!
Great info as always. Thanks. Are water mains ever insulated?
No.. they should be 750mm under ground, so they never freeze.
LOL 😆 🤣 Is that water main 750 to 1250mm deep??? Errrrrrr No!
I saw someone else's video of them putting down new pipe to connect mains water from street to house. Same kind of flexible blue pipe. In his case he had to bury the pipe a fair distance below ground to protect from frost. The regs said a minimum of a meter ish, i forget exactly. Is there a reason the pipes in this video weren’t buried as deep? Cheers.
Found the video. In his case the trench had to be a minimum 750mm. Dependant on the water board by the sounds of it.
For anyone who wants a nose. ruclips.net/video/P1WlMxAMmx0/видео.html
Min750mm max 1350mm
Nah... when your THE big youtube plumber, reg's are what ever you decide 😉... it's not as if anyone is ever going to see. Are they? 😂
@@Sparks1Plumbers0 The water supplier usually checks before the trench is filled in, as far as i know. They give the all clear and log where the piping is located. The water board must be friendly in his area! I'm just hoping he lives closer to the equator and that part of the UK doesnt get freezing weather.
@@tonyhawk123 if all of the work is on the private and you don’t require the water company to do a connection you don’t need to make them aware of anything
Bro I am gonna go to my plummer aprentiship as a master
wheres the water meter? do you share it lol
I was laying mdpe pipes for water and gas before you were born used a mole when laying pipes from 1985
Man I’d love to have a go on a mole. What’s the deal when you hit a big ol’ root?
@@plumberparts it sometimes comes up out of the ground or dives down but you can reverse it by twisting the hose, you should tell your followers that they can use squeeze offs on mdpe after doing the connection
I’ve got a new 32mm main being moled next weekend, can’t wait to see it in action
@@b21playa there great to use save a lot of digging and time
@@stephenharris5729 I can imagine. I’ve got 27m of tarmac from street to new location. Saves ruining the whole driveway
freeze? Pfft just slap the valve on like a boss.
Hi have message d u three times are u reading yr message s?
I have asked do u know of a quiet non kettling immersion element as tank near bedroom comes on at night non kettling please thank s
Hi Phil. I have a vast amount of messages every day. Sorry for the delay in replying. Unfortunately I cannot help you on this one. Kettling noises often get worse with scale. Perhaps think about investing in a water softener. Good luck!
@@plumberparts thanks for reply baker do non kettling one but wanted to know if there was another make.
I have baker immersion element very quiet but when too old wanted to know if similar replacement.
U must have come across this there called low density.
I watched yr vids and thought yr sure to know as yr very accomplished.
If u do find out appreciate it my plumber didn't know either but I investigated myself.
If tank near bedroom real issue
@@toy838 Howden Electro do a low watt density immersion heater.
@@tlangdon12 thanks for trying but they don't do 11 inch one it really is hard work there must be other people out there in flats with tank close to bedroom that need non kettling immersion element.
Thanks for trying perhaps one for videos
Just cut and connect live? It's not as if it's super high pressure and what's it going to make a mess of... the prize winning flower border!
What you like 🤔... thought your name was James ...not 'Jessie the big girls blouse' 🤣
Squeeze off tool?
On copper? Could have easily cut the copper live and pushed a bit of MDPE with a stoptap and have control.
You should use a microphone. Sound quality varies. Good video though other than that.
is the shed not on the water meter? hm hm
There is no way that is 750mm underground lol
Why the towel?
To keep the sun off it? A bit more insulation?
It's a German thing. Towels everywhere and its contagious from drinking too much German beer😉

@@plumberparts you mean Ive got to endure another of your videos!
How come you quit acting to be a plumber? You were awesome in Hangover
Freeze it?? Why not just clamp it???
Because I was going back to the old copper main, which I can't clamp!
