Here in the US, if I was concerned about easy valve replacement, I would just use a Sharkbite valve. Otherwise, if replacement was necessary, I would just cut out a section of pipe and use cemented PVC couplers to connect a short stub on either side.
I'm Electronic and Electri Service Engineer . But ❓ I Like The Plumbing Work. Some Time I Fittings Water Pumps Plumber Works. Today I Got New Ideas. Once Again Thank You For Sharing..
That is the way I assembled my 160' deep well pipe, sans valve, but with couplers between each 20' section of pipe. Continuous poly is usually used but pulling the pump was a lot easier with the couplers when you don't have a crane and winch. Your technique (with one coupler as noted below) is a useful approach to replacing or adding a valve.
thanks for watching ! you are so kind to leave me a comment about this! Hope the video will be useful to you and everyone! See you in other videos of the channel!
I've been brainstorming how to install a 1 inch ball valve into a gravity fed pvc line from my spring fed water tank where it enters the house upstream from my water filter. No flex in the pipe so your suggestion is perfect! Plus, the valve is serviceable in the future without cutting remaining pvc again and again. Thanks!
Thank you for watching the video and leave me a comment! Glad you shared the same opinion! Wishing you and your family all the best and happiness! Looking forward to seeing your opinion in other videos on the channel! Thanks and good luck!
Use a single pvc push to fit (shark bite type or twist to lock) coupling on one side, glue the other threaded fitting direct. (only need one union or push fitting).
You only need one disconnect coupling, this is because once the coupling is un-threaded, the valve can simple turn to spin off the male connection on the other side.
what do you mean it would spin?.. both union when facing each other goes in clockwise and the other side is counterclockwise.. to make it spin with water pressure you need that two union facing in both clockwise or counterclockwise direction.
1. Only PVC valve (both end female socket type) will be just sufficient to replace. 2. At last you installed the valve diametrically opposite to that you saw in starting of video for correct direction of its lever. 3. Anyway, it is a nice video. 🎉
I have had on my mind to install a shut off valve in the 3/4" PVC water line coming into my house for sometime now. This video is exactly what I needed to see to get my valve installed. Will get the parts today. Thank you very much for this video.

That's doing it the hard way. Also unless the pvc is schedule 80, the pipe is for electrical work and not code approved for plumbing. Maybe things have changed since I retired after 45 years as a plumbing contractor.
2 things u forgot . when u cut the pipe u have to deburr it. And second thing u have to clean it with a PVC Cleaner before u get the glue on. These are two very important things.
Thank you for this great feedback! Wishing you and your family peace and happiness! Hope to see you in other videos on the channel! Thank you for your kindness and awesomeness!
why have 2 unions when you only need 1? better yet: 1) use a sharkbite shut off (the 2 unions will more than pay for it). or with the shutoff (threaded) shown 2) use a single sharkbite straight connect. 3) sharkbite Quick Connect Push to Connect/John Guest Speedfit Union fitting (these are made out of pex). If its its outdoor or irrigation, use an orbit PVC-Lock fitting (push on). All of these will be cheaper and easier than 2 unions and all will allow shut off to be removed if it fails.
This guy seems to know what he's doing, so well done. Very educating video. The usual problem here is when the teflon you put on both ends of the valve turned out to be insufficient. You turn on the water, and the teflon starts leaking. But you glued both ends already, so you have to repeat the process all over again and buy another set of fittings.
Don't forget to chamfer the pipe ends, that way the PVC cement doesn't get pushed out and you get a proper chemical weld. Using primer would be best too. Not saying that what you did won't last for years, but for just a little more effort, you could have much stronger joints. This matters even more for elbows. TLDR; follow the instructions on the can of PVC cement exactly for the strongest, longest lasting joints.
Thank you for watching and for your comments! so precious , i will look into these ! Thank you and wish you and your family peace and happiness always!
They sell the pvc valve with the unions already on them, much cheaper and less chance of leaks since no threads with teflon tape are used. and they are much shorter than what you put together. If for some reason you can't find the unions and need to fix a problem right away, a valve and 4 90's will work. glue the 90's on the valve and see how much you need to cut from the pipe with the other 2 90's on the pipe. Yes it will not be straight inline as before, so it might not work in some cases, but for most, it will.
When I apply PVC glue on both surfaces, I just pushed it in. I avoid twisting it because as the glue dries, any twisting action will create unevenness and air spaces which will cause leaks.

hey I wanted to ask if we can use " metal repair paste" on blue pvc pipe water??
I think it's not possible, because each will have different composition and mechanical properties and that would probably be what makes it unsuitable!
