If you're not a musician, you'll never understand just how hard it is to reproduce a song EXACTLY like the original!! This is a PERFECT EXAMPLE of how to do it!! Every little thing they do is MAGIC!!
The other danger is playing it better. The original recording was cobbled together with Stings demo of the song. In the studio they were not able to create the track themselves. This is what the song would have sounded like if they had.
Dang guys that was crazy good. The keys were off the chart, great singing and the drummer did the perfect fills like Stewart C. Not sure if the police could sound this good.
Semi-pro or pro musicians can copy exactly any song in short time. Your comment is really hilarious. The hard thing is to write a song and then it's a classic like this one.
Lead singer has an awesome voice, Sting is my favorite musician and vocalist but this guy has an amazing voice, brought me to tears of joy when I heard him sing, the band was great as well!
One of my all-time favorite tunes from one of my all-time favorite bands. Everything here is on point, with a special shout-out to the pianist. This is just good.
Beyond exceptional. I’ve listened for decades concentrating on Copeland’s crack of the snare, the flams, the cuts, the fills and his unequalled musicality, I’ve come away cold when others have tried. Ryan nails this solid. What a joy to listen to this.
I've been a HUGE fan of The Police since the very beginning., and I gotta say this cover may be a tiny bit better than the original; if that's possible! I'm blown away! Vocals- great. Piano- note perfect. Bass- fabulous. Keyboard- thumbs up. And Drums... wow! Ryan did his homework using the traditional grip, also offering a note perfect performance while making sure to really drive the tempo by playing slightly in front of the band just like Copeland so often does. Bravo!!
I noticed the traditional grip too! Now I need to go back through prior videos to see if Ryan ever plays that way sometimes or if it was just for this. I'm sure it would be hard to match Copeland's sound with matched grip.
Un-fracking-believable. Ryan's always solid on the drums, but this was next level! Plus Derrick on the awesome fretless bass, Austin was killer on the piano, and I don't know how many voices Vandee can do but they're all amazing.
If the original artists had never covered these songs and LLB were the original recorded and released versions, they would be in the same chart topping sales as any of the other mega bands. Absolutely masterful covers with all they do.
Yes! Great cover. Nice hi-hat work from the drummer, incorporated the traditional grip like Stewart Copeland for the song. Outstanding performance ladies and gentlemen!
Congratulations, I loved this. The piano was recorded and placed in the mix so well. I was also impressed by how well the drums sounded, particularly the cymbals. You always record and mix the drums well. Thank you. Love your work.
First off outstanding job on vocals, the breathing on that song is brutal. Now KUDOS to the rythm section that's as tight as a drummer and bassist can get, and fretless no doubt WOW!!! You guy never fail to impress an old musician with each video, very well done.
In the fall of 1981 I was in Germany and a couple of friends of mine met Stewart Copeland in our Hotel lobby and he invited them to their concert that night. It in turned into about 6 of us going with back stage passes. I remember they played this song and announced it as they're about to be released single off their new album Ghost in the machine. When I first heard it I thought I had heard it before just loved it from the first time. After the show Sting asked me what I thought of it and I said I thought I had heard it before and he said that's good. My only brush with rock and roll stars in my 65 years. Have to say they were all very nice to a bunch of early twenty something yanks in a foreign land and they deserved the fame and fortune that came their way over the next few years.
Ok - I just made the holy crap face hearing Ryan hit those fills. This is a beastly song to get right on the drums, and I appreciate greatly the fact that it was performed to perfection.
Heyyy Mike and everyone at LLB!!’ Another great cover. You all sound amazing!! Great vocals. So Benji also plays the keyboards, awesome. You guys nailed it!!! 🎶👍😀
I always catch your videos when they are released here on YT. I don't know which I appreciate more: the studied perfection of these covers or the true genius of the originals. Perhaps it's an equal appreciation.
The Police are one of those bands that did a good bit of popular music, but were still very technical in their playing and presentation. You guys displayed that very well.
What I like so much about your cover is not the way you musically nailed it but that the drummer uses the traditional drum grip that Steward Copeland uses. As always color me impressed
Just one word; WOW. This is amazing. Ryan with the traditional grip just like Stewart really kills it and the piano is amazing as well. You guys are awesome!!
I'm not a huge Police fan, but man, once again the faithfulness of these recording to the original are just breathtaking. I agree with others that Ryan's drum work is remarkable, but so is the piano and Mike's vocal! I'd love to know what processors were used on the vocal. Superb job everyone...once more!
FANTASTIC Cover! Vandy nails it like he always does! You guys have a stellar group of musicians that perform very true recreations of amazing songs! Let's hear some April Wine sessions! I know you guys can make those songs come alive again!
Forgive the pun, but this cover is plain "magic". Austin on the piano is exceptional as always. He's so darned talented on everything he does. The fretless bass is a nice touch, as is Ryan giving a nod to Stewart Copeland with a fantastic job on the drums (including using the traditional grip). Everything was outstanding as usual. Great job! It's so nice listening to you!
You guys really amaze me with your cover songs... Love to see you guys live... one of the best cover bands that I heard so far I'm a musician for 25 years and very impressed with the music and vocals on all your music
As usual, The Lexington Lab Band amazes me with their talent! I'm blown away with the music, they make. This piece would make The Police smile 😃. Great job and please, keep going.....
Excellent - one of the greatest (and happiest) songs of all time. The singing is great but the drumming and keyboards are spot on. I love the keyboard flourishes at the end! GREAT JOB all!!
Mike... This was right up your alley and you knocked it out of the park! Right down to the little inflections you nailed it. Y'all nailed it. Great job!!
You guys just never fail to bring it!! The authenticity of the whole arrangement (drums especially) combined with awesome vocals just dropped another big notch on the LLB belt for the class act you are. Fantastic job!!

What’s the synth patch used/arpeggio? LFO setting? ASDR levels? I wish to recreate on my Roland Juno-X.
Indeed! The Policie can't come even close of this
Dang guys that was crazy good. The keys were off the chart, great singing and the drummer did the perfect fills like Stewart C. Not sure if the police could sound this good.

The hard thing is to write a song and then it's a classic like this one.
Every little song the LLB covers is magic!
Agreed.
The same thought went through my head. Mike Vandemark is so versatile his singing is virtually indistinguishable from Sting. This is a superb cover.
Lead singer has an awesome voice, Sting is my favorite musician and vocalist but this guy has an amazing voice, brought me to tears of joy when I heard him sing, the band was great as well!
Piano, bass, drummer NAILED IT.🍺
The piano was spot on. It's such an important part of this song.
The Police were an amazing band. This song is so layered and complex but you guys more than do it justice.
One of my all-time favorite tunes from one of my all-time favorite bands.
Everything here is on point, with a special shout-out to the pianist. This is just good.

Ryan's brilliant work coupled with this perfect mix deserves the Leroy Coolbreeze award, no question. (IYKYK)
Did Copeland play this traditional grip?
@@JS-hu7pvCopeland always played traditional grip
Fretless bass steals the show! for me! Love it!!
I'm with you on that 👍
What's the advantage of fretless, is it just the ability to slide notes?
@@keepingup2952 Sliding notes and a soft/mellow tone. You have to be very accurate to avoid being sharp or flat, which is very noticable with a bass.
Excellent!

Pretty dang fantastic. I bet it sure is nice having a reliable tenor on hand who is a bit of a chameleon. Well done sir.
Damn, with a fretless bass no less! Just bad ass! The entire group giving it100%!
Breathtaking indeed.
Not an easy song to get it to sound like the way you guys played it. LLB is a monster in the studio.
Un-fracking-believable. Ryan's always solid on the drums, but this was next level! Plus Derrick on the awesome fretless bass, Austin was killer on the piano, and I don't know how many voices Vandee can do but they're all amazing.
At 3:36.. I've backed up a few times. I love how effortlessly the drummer transitions from the 'hi hat to the 'ride.. Reeaally cool to watch !
Being able to seamlessly pull off an amazing cover of a technically challenging song shows the talent you all have.
Great job, once again!!!
Nuances are captured perfectly.
My eyes brighten and my ears start dancing every time I see a new LLB video show up in my feed. Awesome!
Love the traditional grip by Ryan, channeling Stewart Copeland!
Excellent...and traditional grip.....so refreshing to see these days.
Gotta give this one to the drummer. You NAILED IT. I mean that ain't easy. An 11 out of 10 for sure.....
If the original artists had never covered these songs and LLB were the original recorded and released versions, they would be in the same chart topping sales as any of the other mega bands. Absolutely masterful covers with all they do.
This is AWESOME!!!! Look at that Vandee cutting the rug!!! LLB ROCKS!!!! See ya in September.
Yes! Great cover.
Nice hi-hat work from the drummer, incorporated the traditional grip like Stewart Copeland for the song. Outstanding performance ladies and gentlemen!
Exactly!
How deep in the pocket must the drummer be to do Stewart Copeland justice on this song? Im gonna say deep.
Congratulations, I loved this.
The piano was recorded and placed in the mix so well. I was also impressed by how well the drums sounded, particularly the cymbals. You always record and mix the drums well.
Thank you. Love your work.
From the 2:30 point of the video this cover became yours!
Amazing vocals, bass, drums, and guitar!
Best sounding piano ever!
First off outstanding job on vocals, the breathing on that song is brutal. Now KUDOS to the rythm section that's as tight as a drummer and bassist can get, and fretless no doubt WOW!!!
You guy never fail to impress an old musician with each video, very well done.
JEEZ... Same Scene, Take 327.... You guys are Killin' me!! FANTASTIC! Thank you for the effort to bring pleasure to so many...............
Right in that Stewart Copeland pocket.... MAGIC!! :)
In the fall of 1981 I was in Germany and a couple of friends of mine met Stewart Copeland in our Hotel lobby and he invited them to their concert that night. AWESOME! Thank you for getting the "Stewart Copland tuning" of the snare drum (and the cross stick shots) correct!
Amazing how you guys find the right person to sing these songs.
😮💕Mike bro and LLB this is awesome. Well done capturing the energy and magic ✨ of this classic 💕🇨🇦🇺🇸💖
Ok - I just made the holy crap face hearing Ryan hit those fills. This is a beastly song to get right on the drums, and I appreciate greatly the fact that it was performed to perfection.
You guys never cease to amaze!!! Got to listen to two of the greatest cover bands tonight! LLB & then HSCC covering My Sweet Lord.
My thoughts exactly.
Wow this is awesome the singer did an awesome job. Y’all are awesome.
Oh my Lord! Goosebumps all over my body. This must be the best Police cover I've ever seen/ heard!
I nominate Ryan for the “Drummers Hall of Fame”.
Just listened to this wonderful piece of music art. You guys are so fricken tight!!!!
We are blessed with hearing your amazing talent...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It takes a special drummer to pull off what Stewart Copeland does on this song, but ryan kills it! What a beautiful rendition of such a classic!
What a Great way to start a Friday ❤
Magic Smile Machine strikes again. Go Ryan on drums. Just perfect again. I am all smiles thank you
Heyyy Mike and everyone at LLB!!’ Another great cover. You all sound amazing!! Great vocals. So Benji also plays the keyboards, awesome. You guys nailed it!!! 🎶👍😀
LLB another hit for sure!! Vandee, Austin,Ryan and the LLB crew, you rocked this one out the park!! 💗🎶🎹 we wear our LLB merch proudly!!👍
That drummer even playing conventional grip just like Stewart Copeland! Another great video by LLB !❤
Another classic made even more so by my favorite bamd! Thanks!
Brillant......very nice.👍👍😎💯Ryan on drums the finest.✌️

That was a great Copeland grip.
Just one word; WOW. This is amazing. Ryan with the traditional grip just like Stewart really kills it and the piano is amazing as well. You guys are awesome!!
Right on !
I don't know what to say anymore. Absolutely outstanding Team!
Only cover of this masterpiece that I can also watch repeatedly. Nailing the fade at 03:58 is added brilliance.
Once again, LLB does not disappoint! Shout out to Derrick on the FRETLESS bass!!
Very good cover of one of Stings most iconic songs.❤
Awesome job guys and gals 🏆
Bold undertaking. Well done.
fantastic base, piano and drums sound
I'm not a huge Police fan, but man, once again the faithfulness of these recording to the original are just breathtaking. I agree with others that Ryan's drum work is remarkable, but so is the piano and Mike's vocal! I'd love to know what processors were used on the vocal. Superb job everyone...once more!
Absolutely beautiful. Outstanding work... as usual for you guys.
FANTASTIC Cover! Vandy nails it like he always does! You guys have a stellar group of musicians that perform very true recreations of amazing songs! Let's hear some April Wine sessions! I know you guys can make those songs come alive again!
Everything you guys do is magic 😂 awesome job. Sting is hard stuff to sing😅
Absolutely amazing!
Yeah, love this one!
And I think it's a federal law that Ryan has to play traditional grip to cover Stewart Copeland.
Excellent work!!
Absolutely!
Man ,the bassist wow !
Wonderful performance.
Songs from my childhood come alive with LLB.
Great job by Austin for the 'spot-on' piano.
Very good people, pat yourselves on the back. I actually thought that was Stewart on the skins for a minute. Totally accurate on the skins.
The Police could not play it any better... perfection!
Outstanding! Kudos to the drummer.
I can tell this is a technically complicated song, but LLB nails it yet again! You guys Never dissapoint!
Ryan *Copeland* McQuerry, everyone! Wonderful job as always, y'all. Tempo was spot on!
- Ed on the Ridge
Forgive the pun, but this cover is plain "magic". Austin on the piano is exceptional as always. He's so darned talented on everything he does. Every little thing LLB does is magic! Thanks for MORE fun!
Correct tempo and everything. Well done!
Wow.... I love this song, and I know I'll never hear it done this well ever again.
Stupendus as always!!! Wish I lived closer so I could see you all live.
Another song without autotune. It just isn't right
Another spotless performance! 👏 THANK YOU for sharing your incredible talents. There has not been one cover that I have not enjoyed.
You took me back to University in the 70's. Lexington Lab is Synchronicity.
Another great performance 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤
Excellent! 💙
Vandy, your vocal was killer, the best you have sounded and that’s saying something! The band nailed it.
Great job!!
Ya'll have done some incredible covers to say the least. This very well may be THE best one ya'll have done! Incredible. How I wish it was 1981 again.
Yet another great cover by the LLB!!
great job. Sweetwater studio's Rock
The song title says EVERYTHING about LLB,
EVERYTHING YOU DO IS MAGIC!
Simply THE best in every category!
You guys just never fail to bring it!! The authenticity of the whole arrangement (drums especially) combined with awesome vocals just dropped another big notch on the LLB belt for the class act you are. Fantastic job!!
Best Drum track of any of your work--and great rendition overall. Thanks for that.
Man! You all are great..look forward to many more covers!! Thanks!!
