Always take cap off cold, if its low, start bike let idle with cap off, start filling while bike is running to operating temp. Let the antifreeze cycle thru system let bubbles out, keep filling, once bike gets to warming up and antifreeze stays up to full , then cap it tight. You should have full system with no air pockets to cause overheating.

put coolant in your bike and run it to make sure its not still smoking like let it run with the coolant in it for a while
