Hey, this video is awesome! After i watched it I tried 10 reps and when I stretched my knee I heard a loud pop just right above my knee and when that happened I felt my blood came rushing down my foot. I felt my thigh so light without the numbness. Btw, I didn't seek any medical attention about my concern and I have been battling this pain/numbness in my thigh for 10 years or so. You're heaven sent, dude! Keep on doing more videos. God bless!
I'm a bit confused do I do the flossing part which is the second part demonstrated by the skeleton or the first part demonstrated by himself? Please do reply
I’ve had burning pain running down my outer knee for 5 months. No Intervention really helped. After 2 days of doing this exercise pain completely resolved. I will incorporate this exercise in my daily stretching now, thankyou !
After many, many tries for the fastest and most efficient release on this YT I finally!! Found one that worked really well and quickly. I felt the relief right away.
I'm very thankful I found this video, I had seen a couple of different videos from other channels and they didn't really help. But I just now tried 10 reps and can already feel the difference, thank you! Will continue to do this exercise.
This pain just started about 6 months ago. no injury, no trauma thatI know of. Just mild to severe burning and sometimes shooting pain. mostly when I sleep
Just wanted to say thank you! I had this going on in both legs for about a year or two. it had been debilitating at times. I thought I was going to need surgery. Went to a PT and they told me what it was, but no one suggested anything like this or anything that remotely helped until one Dr named the condition. Then I found your video and I tried both exercises you show. Within a week, i felt something pop free in each hip and the symptoms decreased by 95%. It's essentially gone now, but will sometimes creep back. It makes sense, I imagine that's just some kind of residual neuropathy from being pinched for so long.
Most interesting and I am impressed. I have had the on and of burning sensation for a few weeks in my upper left thigh. I tried your exercise on both thighs. before going to bed. I had no discomfort at all during the night. I do sleep with a pillow between my legs. I repeated the routine this morning and will again before I go to bed tonight. I am very pleased with the results. so far, so good. Thank you.

Holy Toledo--I'd be screaming if I attempted to extend my hip into that position. Extension is what causes the pain to flare. Some of us have this nerve issue because of hip-replacement surgery, anterior approach.
My mom has this issue currently. She’s 82. She has also had low back surgery a few years ago. Not sure if there’s any correlation but figured I’d mention it. I’m going to work with her on some of these exercises to see if they can help. I hate seeing her in this amount of pain. Thank you for this. You explained everything perfectly.
this can definitely be related. the nerve can also be pinned either by a bone or muscle. that can explane the back pain. but it might also just be a coincidence and not related but a doctor/mri/x-ray would be able to tell you what/if somthing is causing the nerve to be pinched
I’ve been dealing with this for years in my right leg, and as of recently with training volume increasing it’s started to flare up even more. I stretch multiple times a day and nothing seems to help. I will definitely be giving this a try!

This is an excellent video. I'm convinced I have meralgia paresthetica on my thigh mainly. But I was wondering, with the toe-tapping exercise, how many sets and reps of this would you recommend doing each evening?
Am sure I have this after 2.5 yrs..so gonna try..but would like to know do do compressed or herniated discs contribute to this lateral cutaneous nerve being compressed or SI joint involvement or is this a hip thing..as mine goes numb when I stand in the vastus..Is from too much sitting?? Thx! Lisa
I think its the small muscle on the side of you hip between the boney bump on your pelvis and the bump on your hips is pitching the nerve.. This exercise expands and contracts this muscle pinching the nerve... Thoughts?
will this work for the femoral nerve as well? Not just the cutaneous nerve, but he femoral nerve that controls motor function? I have a pinched femoral nerve in my hip and its causing quad weakness
It can target the femoral nerve a bit. However, There are more specific variations for the femoral nerve out there that are in my opinion more effective. If you search "femoral nerve flossing" or "femoral nerve glides" there are some good examples online of how to do it.
I got Meralgia in May last year and it's still causing me all sorts of problems now. The first three months I was in serious pain 24/7 I couldn't get a good night's sleep because every movement caused me extreme pain and even having bed sheets touching my leg caused discomfort. The pain eased up after 3 months just in time for me to go back to work but it is still very uncomfortable with constant aching, burning and itchiness. The numbness to touch is still across the outside of my right thigh and nearly down to my knee. I can't run and long walks are no longer an option anymore. I'd do anything to have my leg working normally again.
