      Same. Have you tried rubbing urine on your thigh. 🤦🏾‍♂️ If Chad Johnson the NFL wide receiver didn't say it, I definitely would've never attempted this. But I also do the stretches, but I rub my urine on my thigh and instant relief in under 2min. I've tried it a few times just to be sure I wasn't going crazy. Supposedly, we have stem cells in it. It works for half a day.
      I haven't soaked, which what he used to do for his ankle and feet. He'd also warm it up and said he could heal a sprain ankle in a couple days.

    Thank u so much for these exercises 👍🏻 i had intense pain & numbness on my thigh & lower back in the same areas u described in your video & the Dr i saw earlier made me do an xray & wanted me go see a bone specialist which i have to wait 2 months cos government subsidy hospital & just sent me home with pain killers & no instruction to do any stretching 😳 thank God i found your video & these exercises helped relieve my painful condition God bless u for helping share your expert knowledge on all these exercises especially helpful to those of us who cant afford expensive therapy sessions but still need to get back our mobility just to get on with being able to do daily tasks in life without being a burden to our loved ones if we can’t get about on our own ☺️

      This last comment touched my ❤️.... "being a burden on my loved ones." I have been waiting for this pain in the front of my thighs to go away but it only got worse - even ibuprofen doesn't help enough so that i can do household chores, leaving it all on my spouse to do 😨 After asking God to please help me, i was led to these videos, and am greatly encouraged by reading the comments. I will definitely start doing these exercises. Thanks be to God and to our Therapist here in the video, and all who took the time to write comments. 🙏🙏🏼🙏🏽

    Very helpful. I had no clue what was happening when the sensation in my thigh was that of a thousand burning needles piercing my skin! Outch! The pain had me sit straight up in bed one night. It was terrifying. I later learned this is the condition I have, so these exercises are fantastic! I feel better already. Thank you!

    I have MP really bad after a hip replacement on my outter left thigh. I had an L4 (lumbar injection) took pain away in back and buttocks, however didn’t touch the left outer thigh. I had. Lateral Femoral Nerve injection, which took the severe pain away and the electric shock feeling. With injection it confirmed diagnosis. I am beginning these stretches today. Thank you!

    How does one get this nerve pain? I've had a sore back "flexor" I am told, for 4 months now. It feels like half of a tennis ball on my L3 which restricts me from bending forward. I can golf, paddleboard, etc. without pain) but bending straight down......oh my. I can touch my knees or sometimes my shins, but that's about it. I'm 53, in active menopause and pain from head to toe on a daily basis. Could my back issue be causing this new femoral nerve pain? My outer thigh is painful even to a gentle touch! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!! Going to try these stretches this morning!! Much gratitude from Canada :)

    I started having this nerve pain training weighted lunges and squats. I also feel a popping sensation in the hip flexor at the very top of the squats. I've avoided those exercises for about a year (replaced them with barbell hip thrusts and leg machines). I'm feeling stronger and ready to give my lunges another go. I'll be doing these stretches every day and before training. Will be taking it light and slow Wish me luck.

    Thanks alot doctor. Your videos really helped. I had sliped disk about 3 months ago and I got treatment for that. Couple of weeks later I started noticing the pains you described on my right thigh. They were painful. I endured for about a month untill I saw this excercise video. After a week of regular excercise the pain is gone, just slight tenderness around my upper thigh close to my hip region and I also noticed muscle weakness on my right thigh.
    Please what will you suggest?

    Hi, great video …… I’m about to subscribe after writing this message because your video is the best one I’ve seen….. I’m pretty sure I have this problem…… 2 yrs ago I was literally just sitting up on my sofa and got the most incredible pain in my left thigh….. for 3 weeks I couldn’t walk, if I lay on the bed flat, I couldn’t raise my leg up (when straight out), I couldn’t lift my foot up off the floor when standing so I’d have to rock my foot toes to heel to put on underwear and trousers etc… The only way I could get about was on crutches, I couldn’t even stand properly. I’ve never felt pain like it, (ice packs were the only thing that eased the awful cramp like pain) and I’ve had chronic back pain and fibromyalgia for just about 30 years now. ….. I’ve come a long way on my own, slowly getting back most of my leg function, I still can’t get on the floor….. I can’t bear any pressure on my thigh, also numbness and tingling, I decided to try my local physiotherapist and he gave me some exercises. One of them is to lay on my stomach and lift my heel to my butt. I’ve only done a few of these repetitions so far, but I feel I’ve gone back a whole year or more on my recovery. I’ve had to use ice packs again and haven’t needed them in a long time and the pain has ramped up again…… do you think I may have the condition mentioned in this video? I appreciate we’ve never met etc. I’m 52 and a woman…….sorry for the long message, but I wanted to give as much information as possible……thanks so much for your time……. Jan

    Thanks! Mine started with numbness in right quad then intense prickly pain when lying in bed. That left my thigh really sore. I have slept in a chair for the past week. The original pain is still there but not as intense. I now have a painful knot in side of left thigh and numbness across center of my back!! I have a doctor's appointment in March but is this common with MP?

    • @RehabScience
      @RehabScience  10 месяцев назад +4

      Yes, those symptoms can occur with this issue. Since the nerves that go down the front of the legs start in the low back, you may experience pain and other symptoms in that region as well. Also, since the femoral nerve travels through the quadriceps muscles on the front of the thigh, it is possible to get knots in that region.

    Hi - thank you for this, it does provide relief! What I’m wondering though - is it normal to also have lower back pain (same side) in addition to the numbness and tingling in the thigh since the nerve stems from that area? And if so, will doing these exercises also relieve the lower back pain?

      Usually, this problem only causes pain and sensory changes. If your leg is buckling or giving way, the issue may be associated one of the nerve roots in your low back. I would recommend seeing your local orthopedic physical therapist or an orthopedic doctor who can check your spine.

    • @RehabScience
      @RehabScience  Год назад +1

      In standing, the spine assumes a position of extension, which can trigger the nerve roots exiting the low back. I would also recommend trying the exercises in my spinal stenosis video. Here is a link. ruclips.net/video/7OvyosNOiUw/видео.htmlsi=P0P_V58JeXXKjGme

    Finally found what the burning sensation is in the lateral quad area... 18 months post x2 prolapse discs causing femoral neuropathy im still dealing with minor flare-ups and for a semi-pro runner this is a real pain the Ass... sometimes literally. this only seem to start when I upped my S+C work for marathon training so im presuming i have aggravated the femoral nerve somehow which may also explain the dead leg starting in the groin area at around 20k on long runs ?? any tips would be a godsend, I have some dry needling booked in a few days to relieve some spinus erectus muscle tightness and pain on right side which is the FN issue side.

  • @WinMurray
    @WinMurray 4 месяца назад

    My husband's femoral nerve was damaged during a routine exploratory heart procedure entered through the groin area. His right leg is virtually useless. He cannot walk, stand or pivot. At the age of 92 that is tough considering that he was totally mobile and physically active a few months ago before this happened. I looked forward to seeing the referral you mentioned for the hand roller. I do not see that information. We will appreciate that referral. Thanks.

      Can the nerve flossing be done in a seated position? My nerve pain is on the outside of the thigh.

    • @RehabScience
      @RehabScience  Год назад +2

      For femoral nerve, you either need to be in standing or in sidelying. A seated position won't allow you to target the femoral nerve due to the hip joint being positioned in flexion.@@sharonmitchel1377

    Can this condition come from riding push bike ?

  • @creativecrizzma111

    What the base reason for this this nerve numbness?

    • @RehabScience
      @RehabScience  22 дня назад

      This particular condition is thought to be due to an entrapment of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve in the thigh region. This could be the result of tight clothing, a recent surgery, scar tissue, weight gain, an injury to the area or pregnancy.

    Can these still help if the pain is due to lumbar disc issues that are causing it?

    • @RehabScience
      @RehabScience  4 месяца назад

      Yes, the femoral nerve’s branches start in the lumbar spine (low back) and these can help of the issue is coming from the low back as well.

    When I lie down or when I sit forwards, it starts tickling at the left side of my left thigh. It goes away as soon as I straight up (which is annoying because I can't rest in a bed normally). Is this what it is?

    I'm having numbness down my whole leg, but particularly at the soles of my feet. Is this Meralgia Paresthetica the cause?

    • @RehabScience
      @RehabScience  9 месяцев назад +2

      No, the lower leg, including the soles of the feet, are supplied by branches of the sciatic nerve. I would recommend trying the exercises in the video below.
