The massive sound of this instrument at the end is not easy to surpass. Such an absolute consistence without any harmonic imperfection . Superb artwork from the Master Aristide. The work is conceived fully to achieve this and the performer is paramount.

My organ teacher in high school studied with Dupré, and I think this performance lines up almost exactly with what he'd want. Beautifully played, on a fantastic organ!
Only today I discovered this wonderful work. This is exactly how this fugue should be played, decisively, danceably, with a strong accent, rhythm, almost like an organ scherzo, wonderful, wonderful❤❤❤

Bien que je ne connais pas comment les jeux sont repartis sur la console, je suppose que l'interprète active au 2:56-2:57 le colossal Contrebombarde 32' de l'orgue qui "parle" notamment à la note sol au 2:59-3:00, et à la cadence finale bien sûr. J'admire la prouesse technique qui fait apparaître comme triviale une pièce si complexe et difficile.

Très bon.. j'aurais personnellement ajouté un 16' au GO à 2:10, histoire de donner plus d'ampleur. Même s'il ne figure pas sur la partition, il est vrai.
A 2:10 sont entrées les anches 8/4 du positif, les chamades 8/4 et la Bombarde de Pédale complétant les fonds 8 GO/PO et un Récit brillant et léger avec Flûtes 8, Trompette/Clairon + Carillon du début. C'est à dire trois fois rien... On ne met jamais de 16' manuels (sauf d'anches) dans les ensembles (même lorsque c'est demandé) car cela étouffe tout. Et ici, JBM a choisi de ne pas ajouter la Batterie 16/8/4 de Bombarde sur la dernière entrée, inutile pour l'enregistrement. Mais je vous rassure, en live, elle y est ! Le Tutti final sur cette fugue, ne compte pas plus de vingt-cinq jeux : c'est carrément inouï !
