2:30 is a very magical sound unique to Notre Dame. On the recit manual, he uses not only the Gambe and Voix Celeste, but also the Flute Traversiere and the Bourdon Celeste, and perhaps the Diapason 8 in addition. I've heard this used whenever passages call for the Recit voix celestes in other recordings and videos.

This is like a dream. It is as if the great fire never happened. We all look forward to when the organ comes alive again, for the glorious rededication of this quintessential Gothic cathedral. Notre Dame may be in Paris but it belongs to the world.

Actually, the organ has been in continuos use since shortly after the fire, having sustained negligible damage.

This op.7 series of videos is incredible, that I knew already 2 years ago when they were released, but I keep coming back to listen and each time I'm even more astonished with the detail and devotion in these, its seriously outstanding!

When the late Ken Starr said many years ago that Yves Castagnet had no equal in sheer musicianship, he definitely spoke the truth. Brilliant; a technique somewhere between Heaven and Earth.

Following the devastating fire, here are some words for the fugue’s theme: “It’s still with us, it’s still with us, thank God the organ’s still with us, it’s one of kind and it did not burn, and some years from now will again return!”

Unfortunately...we will not hear this magnificent instrument for many year to come. Sad to say. What a soul searching sound. We, in America, are so sad for this tragedy. Like the Phoenix..I hope Notre Dame will rise from her ashes to become the great icon of Paris she has been for so many centuries.

Brilliant and so nice to see someone who looks like they might be the cleaner and has hands which look and move like they are more used to bricklaying - showing us all that appearances can be so deceptive - shame on me. There are videos of Percy Grainger playing with a similar unorthodox hand technique. Please post more.
