It is extraordinary how lyrical and melodic the fugue writing is. Every time I hear it I find my self singing along with it.

What a superb rendition of the wonderful piece - one of the greats of 20th century repertoire. The effortless manner which Vincent Warnier displays is a lesson to any student of the organ. I was fortunate to lure M Daniel Roth to give a recital on the lovely 1905 Hill in All Saints Hove many years ago whilst organist there, and he played in the same manner. A very different organ, yet a serene and wonder manner of playing. So thank you, M. Warnier, and so too Pierre-Francois Dub-Attenti for your excellent recording (and registering!) skills.

Bravo, M . Warnier has the privledge of being the organist at St-Etienne-du-Mont where Durufle was organist. I've heard this work on so many different organs I even heard Mme Durufle play it in New York when she was in her 80's, but this organ is perfect for Durufle's works.

Bravo! It's a little known fact that Cavaillé-Coll throughout his life was in search of a single knob for the organ that would go all the way to "11". Although this instrument is the greatest in all France and perhaps his greatest achievement, the technology did not exist at the time, so actually configuring the Saint Sulpice organ to "11" for the end of this work requires an assistant to manipulate the controls. Many organists still prefer the original, discrete controls to the single knob that goes to "11".

Yes, a perfect performance, good tempi too, not too fast. Like everywhere, people clap in a concert in France in a church. I ignore why there are no applause this time, there must be a reason (maybe that was for a special commemoration ?). Vincent Warnier was Daniel Roth pupil, he's the organist of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont, in Paris, the Duruflé organ. Jacques, from France.
