    I own the previous model Cayenne and would be hesitant to get this 2024 (vs. a low mileage/ CPO 2023) cause it lacks a center console gear lever. The tiny pickle on the dashboard is a major downer and design flaw imho. The few square inches of space they've gained aren't anything, and besides, shifting/moving a lever up/down with your arm raised and slightly stretched in mid-air seems less intuitive and more flimsy as opposed to an arm resting on a solid gear lever (in a position your arm would naturally be in) when moving back/forth. Also the many digital screens seem redundant and somehow cheap and generic and a slight overkill. I'll take normal gauges any day. Otherwise a very pretty car which i'm sure is a pleasure to drive. ;)

    I drove German cars all my life: bmw, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche. Never looked at Japanese cars until recently. I drive Lexus now and you don’t have to worry about cars breaking down after warranty and it is better built than German cars.

    There’s a lot of interior cost cutting going on compared to the 23s, especially for the as tested $100k…

    • @jumboJetPilot
      @jumboJetPilot 9 месяцев назад

      Exactly right! Such as the fact that the new ones are only available with an all-black or a base-black interior. That’s a deal breaker for me right there.

      where did you hear this ? I ordered a 24 S and there’s lots of interior colors available. Maybe that’s just on the base ?

    • @jumboJetPilot
      @jumboJetPilot 10 месяцев назад

      @@user-qr9pb2dd6g look at all of those interior colors - they all only come with black carpeting/ceiling liner (base black), or you can get the entire interior in all black. Doing base black or all black is a major cost cutting measure that several brands are doing right now.

    • @willmarshall4685
      @willmarshall4685 9 месяцев назад +1

      That’s not true. Have a base on order with tan interior and test drove one withe red and black interior.

    • @jumboJetPilot
      @jumboJetPilot 9 месяцев назад

      @@willmarshall4685 look closely at Porsche’s “car configurator” on their website. When you spec something other than an all-black interior on the new Cayenne then ONLY the upholstery color is changed. The flooring, ceiling liner, pillars, dashboard, cargo bay, and large swaths of the interior door panels remain in black, turning it into a two-tone interior with the base still being primarily black (also called “base-black”). So, as I said before, the interior of the new Cayenne can only be had in all-black or in base-black. That’s a cost-cutting measure that many brands are resorting to at the moment.
