    Bauer can’t be beat for the price and selection, but the Hercules 5 year warranty has me grabbing them for work where I use them every day. Up to 11 Herc tools and 8 or 9 Bauers? No issues using and abusing either.

      I bought some Hercules tools because of some videos I saw on the new brushless ones. I never understood the warranty tho, I thought that was like an optional thing?

    • @Charliemmafan
      @Charliemmafan Год назад

      @@n2o07annexodius7 The optional extended warranty is on the Bauer where you can pay extra if you want but Hercules now has really good warranties that come with the product purchase of their tools.

    I wonder how often HF switches to a new vendor for manufacturing? I'm sure most of there impacts are made under the same roof, but I dont know if they then go behind different doors for assembly.

    The Bauer casing is marked, it’s to the left of the recycling marking. Stamped vertically inside the thin groove. I believe it says GF30 but the video is a little blurry

    Interesting comparison, maybe the motor is a little smaller because they advertise the Bauer being a little less powerful? Also, any chance you could get the new Bauer cut off tool? Would love to see a review on it from you

    Hercules will need to come down in price or people with buy the Bauer due to its lower price over the Hercules.

      The Hercules does down in price every so often, I'd say the $20 difference is worth the slight performance increase, if you use these tools a lot.

    • @joshm2243
      @joshm2243 Год назад

      @@ThePainkiller3666 Hercules wont go away as they have the 12v line in addition to the 18v line, these two are the competition towards the name brands. But HF needs to keep the Hercules tools torque ratings above any Bauer tools, or de-tune the Bauer tools so they are more of a diy'er, weekend warrior line. The Hercules line is HF's "professional" line. They just need to keep the quality and torque ratings above the Bauer line across the board for automotive tools: ratchets, impacts, etc.

    Cool video man I've been wondering what was really the difference between Bauer and Hercules myself as well because the Hercules typically costs quite a bit more usually but not always but it has a much better warranty but besides that they look the same except the brand name and the color obviously even though the people in the stores will tell you that the Hercules is made better and will last longer they don't give any details why specifically but from your video above they look basically just about the same so thanks for making the video and it would be cool if you could compare other different types of tools between the Bauer and Hercules or even other tool brands as well!

    The hercules has a bigger field, bigger armature, more powerful motor otherwise the same except a better case. Makes sense actually hercs do outperform bauer.

    Notice they come out with the Bauer brushless first...like testing the design, then beef it up a little and release it under Hercules name a few months later.

    I have the Hercules Ultrahigh torque and I love that thing, it's done everything I've asked of it but this compact version is seriously underpowered. I tried removing the lugs on a Honda Fit (only tool on me, no lug wrench) and it took a literal minute per lug to remove the tire, I tried removing some 17mm bolts off my civic (suspension work/tranny removal) and it failed 4/5 bolts.
    Don't get me wrong, I love having a small dedicated impact but knowing it's limitations I use it mainly on my motorcycles or bolts that are 14mm and under. That being said I highly doubt it reaches 555ft/lbs breakaway torque.

    • @engineer_alv
      @engineer_alv Год назад

      Something must have been wrong with your tool or the lugnuts could've been rusted or over torqued.
      Definitely not 555 ft/lbs of breakaway torque but passenger car lugnuts rarely exceed 100 ft/lbs factory spec.
      I would try to get the tool replaced. Even my Bosch Freak (155 ft/lbs) could do that. It does my Ram 1500 lugnuts just fine
