    To be fair, your Milwaukee power tool comes with 1 battery and 1 charger. When buying the Hercules Ultra Torque, you purchased 2 batteries and a charger. Based on your receipt each battery was $69.99. If you simple purchased "item for item" (1 tool, 1 battery and 1 charger) the actual comparison ( based on your receipt in slowmo) would be Milwaukee $449.00 -vs- Harbor Freight $284.97. What you also didn't mention...... You compared the Harbor Freight purchase after tax with an "additional battery" to the Milwaukee's 449.99 without tax. The true price comparison is the Milwaukee price of $485.98 after tax -vs- the Harbor Freight $383.36 with an extra battery. Which means you can work twice as long for $102.00 less, with a solid tool (based on your video). Sorry, but, I have to roll with Harbor on this one. Great Video!!!!!!!I look forward to seeing more.

      Right now Home Depot has the fuel high torque with 2 5.0ah M18 batteries and charger for $450 plus tax.
      Hercules ultra torque $189 + $75 per battery + basic charger is $384 plus tax if you get 2 batteries. About $65 in savings. Not a lot.
      I think the value is the availability to get a 8/12ah battery and fan cooled charger for not much more than a basic Milwaukee set up.

      @bmwmsport11 I assume that is a sale cause that is not list price. If so that isn't a great comparison unless you also compare hecules on sale. Which right now you can get a hercules 1/2 impact ultra torque, 3/8 impact, impact driver, 2, 5 amp hour batteries 1, 2 amp hour battery and a charger for 370 bucks. Please show me a milwaukee deal like that. Now I use milwaukke all the time for work but hercules is definitely cheaper.

    Just to be clear. My work was completely leveled by a tornado in December and this impact as well as the Hercules 3/8 impact were laying in 1 inch of AW46, 1540 oil, and rain water and still works like it did out of the box. I love Hercules

    • @thetechgenie7374
      @thetechgenie7374 6 месяцев назад +1

      The Hercules is definitely pro level. I have both the Milwaukee which had the early version of the Milwaukee for years and finally figured since they have a spring sale try the Hercules and honestly surprised how good it is. I did suspension work on a friend car the other day and had zero issues with it removing rusted bolts off. It built well with glass fiber impregnated plastic like the Milwaukee so sure hold up. I did order a gen 4 Milwaukee be nice to see how they compare to each other.
      The price for quality and performance and the fact you get 5 years warranty and 3 years on the battery, is a good price. I dropped the Hercules grinder off off a roof when cutting pipes for a HVAC unit cracking the bottom casing as fell out of bag when climbing down, but tool still worked, walk into store and they swapped it out without zero issues. Yes you can get it much cheaper if you wait for the sales. Much got the battery and charger for free. Agree the charger is slow and yes had the bad smell to it. They do have a 8 amp fan cool charger now for sale.

    Been looking at videos of this impact. I saw TTC test it against Milwaukee to a dead tie...says nothing about durability, but this video shows it can handle straight up abuse. I'd like to see a bit of shop abuse from daily use, not just exterior tossing around, but wondering if it will lose power over a few months of ripping off lugs, hub nuts, and crankshaft bolts. I have the Earthquake XT 1/2 impact...it was alright when I got it several years ago, it will still take off lugs, but it seems to have lost a little bit of its power over time. It is a brushed motor so it makes sense it would lose power, but the Hercules is brushless. Seems like a solid buy if you are in the line. I am mostly Milwaukee M12 driven but I have beef with their brushed ratchet, apply over 75 ft lbs to the ratchet and it breaks. The Hercules 12v ratchet breaks at 150, twice as durable. My m12 ratchet broke while removing a loose oil drain bolt. Sure I could get a Fuel model, but the heads are so massive that it's hard to get where I need it. So I have one Hercules tool. Looks like I may add another. I've been watching the Hercules line closely...started out as a running joke, then they started releasing brushless tools, now 5 year warranty, new 8 and 12 amp batteries with 21700 cells and now an impact that competes with top of the line tools...if the trend continues, I have hope for the brand.

    I wonder why everyone seems to be ashamed of having cheaper tools, getting into this as a career your screwed from the beginning 20g’s in tools and they are paying 15hr flat rate as a newb. Stupid! What other career fields pay so low and expect so much start up capital just to work in the first place. The hole system is ridiculous anyway I ramble, as technicians especially newbs don’t be afraid or embarrassed from a name on a tool if it works than it’s a good tool. Harbor freight has steeped up tremendously from the early 2000’s and being able to walk in and warranty instead of hunting down a tool truck that rips you off on 85% of everything seems like a better deal to me. That’s like buying something getting kicked in the nuts and going back for more. No thank you! Warranty wait times is the stupidest thing ever and I own good tools just don’t deal with tool truck anymore

    The TLDR. He talks shit about it and Harbor Freight from the first 10 seconds, improperly compares the prices because he bought an entire second battery for the Hercules but only showed the price vs a single battery setup Milwaukee. Takes off a nut his 3/4" Milwaukee didnt take off, beats the ever living shit out of it and it doesn't break while also saying he'd never do that to his Milwaukee, then proceeds to still talk shit about Harbor Freight and the price that he still improperly compares. Finally he tries to kill it with water and it still doesn't die.

    But does the consistency of that performance hold up from one impact to the next? See that would be a factor. Yes every brand even the expensive name brands will have a bad egg from time to time but, these could be like one in fifteen are any account and perform that way, and you just happened to get lucky and got a good one. But with the walk in replacement policy I guess you could just bring it back if it’s a bad one and they’ll replace it with another bad one. If it takes 15 repeat trips back to the store for an exchange to finally get a good one, well most people would give up after the third or fourth trip, and go to Home Depot and get the Milwaukee one that’s only 60 dollars more, and have the ratio be more like only one in 5,000 being a bad one. So just something to look at also.

    My issue with the Harbor Freight cordless tools the same as yours. They cost too much if they are trying to compete on price! There simply isn't a big enough difference versus a brand name with a much wider tool selection. That said, this does seem like a pretty impressive tool! I don't think my DeWalt batteries would have survived those durability tests at all. Fun stuff.

    • @802Garage
      @802Garage Год назад

      @@word1ist It's not cheaper than both if you actually look for sales. I got my DeWalt high torque impact for $180 brand new. If the price difference between the Harbor Freight and a more established brand is low, being on the better battery system with a much wider selection of tools makes much more sense. I personally use DeWalt 20V because I find it's a better overall value than Milwaukee M18. I generally buy new tools when I can get a battery or two for free and overall I've paid less than I would have for Harbor Freight equivalents. I also buy Milwaukee M12 which Harbor Freight doesn't have anywhere near a comparable lineup.
