- This is a clip from the local Philadelphia newsprogram called Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday where Kenn Kweder & The Secret Kids are featured representing "The New Rock & Roll".
I saw Kenn a couple of times in the mid-seventies. The endless jam on "Man On The Moon" (a high point of his act) sticks in my mind to this day. Good job.
Kenn is the best! Great songwriter and he was nice enough to sing on a few tracks on my first album. I will not forget that.
Hey gabbagabba64... it's the best the Pistols ever sounded!
This is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time!
steely irony saut'eed in cosmic contradiction...
this is the essence of Kweder...
Wow, this is a find! Kenn was a lot of fun. Good original songs and a strong live performer. With a little luck he would have had his moment on a larger stage, but he put on excellent shows around Philly in the mid-late '70's. Whoever wrote the copy for the reporter, though, should still be serving time in prison.
Good point. There was a high cheese factor in much of the Philly original scene of the mid 70's- mid 80's. The A's were the best of the bunch but even they suffered from that novelty/new wave/garage approach as did Robert Hazard, Dead Milkmen and most of the rest. Still, that shit was better than the twenty odd singer/songwriter types trying to be Springsteen. Good songs here were few and far between. There was a guy named Joey Wilson who wrote a very good pop record in the mid 80's...
Some of those quotes didn't age well
By way of example, in 1978 Boston had Aerosmith, J Giles, the Cars, Boston; and Philly had arrogant amateurish chumps like this. No wonder why the Hooters and Cinderella are our biggest rock exports.
Pompous, are we?
I keep trying but I can't get it
Kenn ! ___Kids from W.A.W.A. !
Hey, it's OK, but comparing yourself to Einstein? Could be part of why you never made it.
wow! What an innovator! and he went on to show us all by becoming world famous! Oh...wait....that was somebody else....nevermind
Kenn used to rehearse at a facility that my band did too back in the early 80's. He was a super cool guy. This video makes him look a little self-involved and conceited. But nothing could be further from the truth.
@MadGrizzly No, it is not
far out he comes across as KING S**** lol
The mmr dj was laughing at him. Saying dude had balls not getting off the stage. He said I will be back with the secret kids, lol. Loser
Kenny would box, knock him out, have a beer, and play another gig before Rotten knew what hit him.
Is that Jay Leno at 1:35?
I just saw your comment....many, many years after you posted it. No, that is not Jay Leno, it's me, a fun loving, dedicated teenage music fan. Didn't you have anything better to do or say other than making judgmental comments about someones appearance.
I suppose he went back to the scrap yard, and lived happily ever after?
"Man On The Moon," anyone...
This sucks!
