Just read that the old Empire building now houses a beer distributor, a bingo hall, restaurant, and furniture store, since ER's 1990 closing. It was such joy, following the "births" of Philly bands around the Delaware Valley on weekends..which started on Thursday nights(!)..bands like The Hooters, Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers, Robert Hazard & The Heroes, The A's, Bricklin, Witness, Jack of Diamonds, et al. I lived in West Chester for college(early 80s), and George Thorogood & the DDs would sometimes just randomly 'appear' at a backstreet joint West side called Joe's Sportsman's Lounge. 😃 The WC borough 👮♂️ would get pissed, having to deal with the sudden crowd control there ! ..Lolz. ... Amazingly fun times. 🍻 Wish my Time Machine 🚀 wasn't presently in the shop ! ..haha. 😏

It's not a competition. Most people outside of Philadelphia never heard of them. I suppose the Hooters have been mostly forgotten outside of Philly these days too.
