So Don’t listen to people who doubt you, they are just projecting themselves onto you, just because they can’t move here lol. people used to tell me that I’ll never make it here or move here, well i proved them all wrong because I’ve been living in New York for almost 3 years now.

I feel you about the winter here gurl! I moved to New York from North Carolina with only 80 bucks and the name of Jesus. I made it, God made a way for me here and if I can move here with only a few bucks you definitely can. You can make it work.

I absolutely love your video because it’s the MOST REALIST of any video I have seen. Aside from NYC so darn expensive as a Native New Yorker from the Bronx. But you stated the TRUTH of people cursing you out everywhere! On the train, streets etc. Thank you for also mentioning the “Too Good To Go” app. 👍🏻

Nyc is definitely an inspiring place. There’s just a lot going on in the city. Can be overwhelming at times. You will pay more for less space. In the summer it’s all worth it. So much to do! For free

I know a few people from North Carolina! They definitely would not be used to the winter haha. Great tips, and great to know that you have found it affordable. Its nice to hear another perspective on that from the usual its so expensive- but often times that isn't adjusting life styles.

how is it going? i’m saving up to move now and i’m extremely nervous
I used to live in nyc for acting school for a few years. I'm currently living in south Florida and I'm like 80% convinced on my move back.. however, I want to be as financially secure as possible and level-headed. I know how tough it was living up there at times when it came to loneliness. Also, lyfts and Ubers were like 80-100 dollars when I was up there a few days ago for a week long visit.
How was acting school out there I currently live in Florida Also but am considering going to acting school in new york

How does the city run during blizzards? Like do people usually shut down, establishments closed? I would imagine it would be hard for people to get to work
Nope the city doesn’t shut down! They have the big trucks that come bulldoze the streets to clear the snow as quickly as possible and the trains still run, it’s just increased caution

I'm 16 and I really hope I'll be able to move to NYC in a couple of years. I live in Raleigh, NC, and I find it so boring and empty. I want a lively experience and an opportunity to open up with myself after being confined in my parent's household. Has it been easier to find friends and become social after the pandemic ended? I will not know anyone if I move to NYC, but I figured my social life would be easier post-covid. Any tips?
I also found Raleigh to be boring! Hmmm I honestly don’t think it has become easier. It was probably easier for me to make friends during the height of the pandemic than now but it’s still possible :)

5:43 RATS TALKIN'. omgg lolllll I imagine a bunch of rats in a cluster next to a garbage can talking and fighting while you're trying to sip your latte in an outdoor cafe. You summed up in that one phrase how NASTY New York is. You touched on a LOT of REAL topics. But you didn't touch on the ODORS and SMELLS of the city. Lack of proper sanitation/hygiene is an ever-present issue. There's always a wall of bu-dunk funk that hits you at any given time as you walk the streets or enter subways, mix of garbage and urine on the sidewalks -- especially whenever it gets warm. Also your shoes, bags and clothes will be CONSTANTLY DIRTY from just the daily grime of the city. NYC gets SO MANY PASSES on being nasty as h**** by people so "in love" with city. It gets away with things that even cities like L.A. or S.F. or Miami or any other big city would be vilified for.
I wouldn’t say NYC gets away with it. It is widelyyyyy known that NYC is filthy 😂😂 & you definitely right about the smells. I started spraying perfume on the outside of mask hahaha

@@JC-ks9pd on some lines you get transfer and some you don’t it depends but they announce it. They have weekly passes and monthly options too.
The unlimited monthly pass is $127. Coming from somewhere where I’ve always had to have a car I’m excited to save on gas, car payment and car insurance

I do have a car, but i decided against bringing it to NYC bc the transit system is so great & I dont need it. it wouldve just been an extra expense.
Ithink free food pantry(s)are for people already here and lost theeir job or are homeless. Not for someone intentionally making the move well aware they cannot afford the cost. That's like moving during this pandemic where people cannot be avicted and staying rent free on purpose. Bad advice.Stick to places you CAN make ends meet. I am all for the hustle but moving to a place you cannot is just not a good move.

But, it’s really a struggle..
So, many places you can lived in..
And yet ppl want to struggle ..
The app about the food sounds great if you were homeless..
But, your working your butt off for some left overs..
Everyone’s reality is different. I do not struggle. Yes there are many other places to live but people still choose NYC. The point is to help people have an easier experience in NYC so that they don’t have to struggle. Of course I’m aware NYC can be tough, which I mentioned in the video, but you make the best with what you have and that’s what life is all about :)
