Another great piece of work by Ken Loach, disheartening that there's such little support for start up film makers...

It was well judged, I think, making Maloney a grotesque rather comical character instead of an out an out hate figure. I think Loach wants to direct the audiences anger at the social structure rather than individuals.
Great film!! Ken goes on to make even more powerfull film than the last.

I've been watching your films since I was 12 years old, I'm now 54. We were shown your work at school in Liverpool. Sadly I don't believe they've made a blind bit of difference to anything. On re-watching them they can steer towards poverty-porn for the middle-classes. Sorry Ken. (The film is a depiction of Milton Friedman's dream worker.)
Oh by the way, I know the daughter, her name is Katie Proctor and she goes to my school, we are best friends, if you dont believe me go know face book and search benfield school because she is in there, also the son is someone from benfield as well
As the dust settles on this terrible election result we can see that England is now the last colony of the British empire! Just as most of its colonies have freed themselves from vicious rule, so we will have to do the same here.
