I would be happy about all this if it was not for the insane nepotism that this man has for his son who is a mediocre driver at best and has a terrible attitude. He's going to stop at nothing to 'try' and make his son become a world champion and even with Newey, I don't think that will happen if Alonso still has the talent in equal machinery. But they will have a better chance as a whole if Stroll senior has the balls to tell his son to step aside and race in another category and bring in another driver who would push Fernando Alonso more. I can't be a fan of this team until the insane nepotism is gone.
All of the fantastic things this man has brought to F1.. saving Aston Martin from Bankruptcy, giving jobs to hundreds of talented engineers, giving Alonso competitive machinery for the first time in a decade, building these state of the art facilities and now prizing Adrian Newey away from Red Bull…. And you honestly can’t see past the fact the guy just wants his son in one of the cars in return? Stroll Jr. wouldn’t be my choice either but Christ alive show s bit of appreciation would you? It’s hardly an insurmountable price to pay for everything this guy has done.
