The part where Torbin rushes off to get the girls because he wants to go home is even stupider because only seconds before Master Indara tells them to pack up and go home IMMEDIATELY because the Jedi Council just ordered them to leave the Witches alone. So why the effeth did Torbin rush off when he just got his wish granted? Even then, why did any of this motivate to self-delete years later after even more years of self-exile - but not before becoming a Jedi Master himself first.
A far more masterful way of handling these themes without breaking the narrative of good vs evil inherent to Star Wars would have been to tell a story that really brings us into the mind and motivations of the sith, and give us reasons to sympathize with them while still allowing them to be evil and not tarnishing the Jedi by turning them into a bunch of bumbling idiots. A good example of this is the recent Joker movie where it was really hard not to sympathize with his horrible life yet by the end you’re thinkin, ‘he didn’t handle that well but I understand why.’ What we got is an embarrassing mess.
Why did Torbin rushes to get the twins. The Council already said to return without them. he just wanted to go home. why didn't he just convinced Sol to listen to the council?????
He also has the twins test results so he doesn't need them too. The results are proof of the vergence. But if they left plot wouldn't happen. Sort of wish they had just left.
The Jedi didn't look bad here. The witches showed that they were actually bad and basically caused their demises themselves. I'm not sure why the Jedi felt the need to cover up anything rather than just say the truth because the council probably would have been ok with it.
The Council already decided they should not interfere. The Republic had no authority on Brendok and these Jedi were only there because of their curiosity. The Coven had built a settlement and...you think it's permissable for someone else to simply barge in a take people for their own purposes? You...are oddly devoid of an even basic understanding of morals.
@@conscientiousobjector5988so it makes sense to you that they disobeyed the council, but the council is going to be ok with Sol brining back a padawan from Brendok?
Well the Jedi Padawan started this by not listening to his master, but it was dumb in a such stupid way, that the Witches ended up looking worse by comparison. 😂
@@conscientiousobjector5988 they were there to explore the vergeance, and they found it. Sol was following the will of the force sensing that the children were in danger, which they were. Defuse the situation by 1) telling the Jedi they can have Osha or 2) turning into an intimidating smoke monster. Mum: “why not both”. You’d think turning into mist would grant you some sort of resistance to physical damage.
When Carrie Anne Moss phones in her lines? You know it's bad. I feel bad for the cast. Sol's obsession with Osha was Weinstein creepy. Is Headland using Star Wars to purge herself of that creep?
Virgence refers to the prophecy of the one who will bring balance to the Force. Which doesn't come into question till the Empire. During this time the Jedi believe there is peace as Obi-Wan said. So why are the Jedi even looking for a virgence in the Acolyte? Makes no sense, Headland is writing gobbledygook.
A vergence, sometimes described as a Force nexus, a nexus, or a locus, was an unusual yet naturally occurring concentration of Force energy localized around a place, object, or person. A vergence centered on a location could give nearby Force-sensitives stronger interactions with the Force, often including visions.
Different jedi, different times. Torbin didn't have the Clone Wars to harden him. Also, Sol's motivation could have been justified with him "happeneing to find the girls" while out on mission. I was suprised Indara was strong enough to wipe out so many force users at once, but died to a knife from... But, even after all this, Coral was still not confirmed dead!
They all got over paid so they could care less about what they are doing with the Star Wars universe. This will never be cannon to me. Too much suspension of disbelief and common sense is asked of me and I can’t immerse myself into the story even after a fat bong load. Just terrible. Terrible.
Why would he want a padawan and why does smilo want an apprentice? What do these writers think gaining knowledge and spiritual seeking even is? How come all these people supposedly in touch with the force are all dumb, naive, mean, selfish and full of desires…
It seemed as if Sols intentions were somewhat shady, Dark Sols if you will. This is the worst 30 minutes of TV I’ve ever seen. The acting is so wooden it’s food for termites, dialogue so bad I couldn’t believe someone could say it and keep a straight face. The plot is awful and makes little sense. You can now turn into a dark side force/thread cloud and still be stabbed with a lightsaber. Fight choreography was awful. Sol climbing the fortress walls, many hundreds of meters high, is a few seconds so the plot can happen actually made me laugh. I didn’t think it possible that it could get worse than episode 3 but this was utterly dreadful. That Disney actually released it this in this state is beyond me.
And the writers want us to believe that just because it's "black" and "looks evill" doesn't mean it is evil. That's just asking us to ignore every single thing of basic storytelling that has been drummed into our heads since we were children.
Wh6 do we keep saying the witches are evil? Hell, we haven't seen them do anything really "darkside" outside what we think we're supposed to expect. Everything they've done towards the "Jed"i was in self-defense. Every encounter with the "Jedi" started from Sol stalking them and repeatedly breaking into their home.
Btw sole did not want to cover it up, i do think they always do the force stupid. I.e. instead of keeping both platforms stay up, why not just grab the girls….they can use the force to push people in Ashoka…..truely such bad writing, like a 13 year old, high brainstorming
I think in the end it comes out Sol is a twin of Quimir. Ut Quimir zapped into zhe dark side because green lady hurt him and is secretely a Sithlord , thats the reason he looks younger. That why Quimir asks , don' t you recognize me? Maybe thd witches where only unconscious.
I disagree about the grey, if written well would be cool, that the Jedi way is too far left. The grey area sucks because of terrible, horrible, making no sense inauthentic poor writing. Which i would argue has plagued star wars since the prequels.
It’s fine if you think so, but you must admit Star Wars was created as a good vs evil story and making it grey is transforming it into something else. I would argue transforming it and do something different entirely.
If this wasn’t a Star Wars show, if it was based in a gdifferent universe, there is no way the script would have been made and the show broadcast in this state. It’s shite and getting worse. Ep7 is the worst 30 minutes of TV I’ve ever seen. Ep3 is second on that all time shit list.
This just doesn’t look like $180M production, it doesn’t feel like anything remotely close to Star Wars was and it’s some of the worst writing I’ve ever seen… it’s so bad
Probably should not get the guy who just learned English ( shouts out to him for that btw) to say the word vergence. The whole time I was trying to figure out why they're searching for virgins.😂
The only way moral ambiguity i.e., a grey area, can be introduced to the narrative, is if the Jedi are written in such a way as to contradict their own moral and professional codes of conduct, literally make the Jedi act in opposition to their own ethics. Which is exactly what happened, e.g., using lethal force on an unarmed civilian, the forced extraction of children from their families or hiding/with-holding information from superiors and the Jedi Council, etc.
So no one is going to question the "dark" side of the Jedi? They believe they have a right to kidnap children for their personal gain. This led to Anakin's initial downfall.
So, it's okay to kill someone unarmed if they turn into smoke and you don't know exactly what happened? Also, could we please get over this rigid black and white thinking about Star Wars. Don't give me that Star Wars was always a simplistic good vs evil story when what made Star Wars so iconic is finding the villain of the series was the FATHER of the main hero. If you don't think that creates morally grey area then you're just being willfully ignorant, and you don't actually get Star Wars.
Pretty sure you don’t understand Star Wars. This show and most of Disney Star Wars is a fundamental contradiction to what Star Wars was. No we did not have grey area. Darth Vader was not a little good and a little bad. He went from good to evil. And then he was redeemed at the end but not because he had good in him, but because he fundamentally turned from the dark side to return to the Jedi before his death. So no, I would argue your perspective falls right into what I talked about in this video.
