You play Wuthering Heights so beautifully with your voice and ukulele. It inspires me to practice more but it will be a long time if ever when I can play as well as you.
Been watching too many UOTUK videos and found myself shouting "Heathcliffe" at the proper point in the song. You're gonna have to wrestle performing this song off of George.
Hi Laura, is there any chance you could do a uke version of Zeppelin’s That’s The Way. It is a true seminal work and needs a uke treatment and your vocal would suit it perfectly. Cheers, love your work, I’ve converted all my kin to your Love Cats epic, excellent !
YOU ARE ADORABLE. AT THE SAME I CAN SEE WHY KATE'S VOCALS ABILITY CAN BE CHALLENGING FUR THE NEW AGE SINGERS. TODAY ITS ALL ABOUT BREATHY SOUND . HEAD VOICE IS WAY CHALLENGING HENSE WHY THEY AVOID IT. I HAVE TO SAY... YOU ARE GOOD BUT STILL HEAR THE TINY EXHAUSTION IN YOUR VOICE. NEVER THE LESS... SOUNDS GREAT! CUTE AS 👏👏👏👏💕
Kate Bush was in many - most - ways quite astonishing. "WTF is this? It's interesting anyway...it's good too..."and so on. She was absolutely a one off. She didn't always hit the mark for me, but I'm really not sure what she was aiming at so maybe she did. "No real desire to be immediately understood" is entirely right; whatever she was aiming at was perhaps obscure, but she always sounded magnificent. The UOGB cover is great because they take a couple of dimensions of the song and execute them very well. George's voice isn't a versatile as Kate's, so he keeps it in his range (transposition is perhaps his greatest talent),, and they can't help but be amusing (Dave? "Why can't we go to Ikea like other people"? Really? Ha!!!) OK, to the meat: your version sounds to be faithful to the original. Couple of problems your voice doesn't have the same range as Kate's does/did: she is higher than you. can you move the key down a bit? I think your range is not different to hers but starts and ends a bit lower than hers does. Second: Covering a song doesn't mean slavishly copying it, transpositions included. A good cover takes something away - leaves something out - from the original but adds something new.. I really, really, really hope this doesn't sound negative; I think you're really good, with great potential, and I look forward t listening to you for many years. If you think I'm being unhelpful please tell me to delete this comment and I will.
Certainly not an easy song for vocals but you've done such a brilliant job on this cover, ...wow
