@@mikezooper I was happy he didn’t try to mimic Kate Bush. I felt the same until about halfway through and maybe just because it’s a guys voice I saw it more from Heathcliff’s point of view and it’s really heartbreaking. So I think it’s a great companion to Kate’s classic.

The church bells sounds like wedding music and religious theme music, the beginning of ones life. then the love and throws and anguish sounds of rocky romance. then the music box piano is playing the theme that represents a lifetime of events being remembered, and questioning if it was all worth it.
The sound of the acoustic is so immediately evocative of a cold, misty moorland and rly captures the atmosphere of the novel so beautifully. Also ADORE the subtle change from “I’m Cathy” to “your Cathy” in the chorus; it’s equal parts romantic and sinisterly eerie when you remember that it’s Cathy’s ghost that supposed to be saying it
