Oh man, I've got one. I was arrested for robbery in my 20's, ended up going to prison, but while I was in county, this idiot hippie kid got busted for public intoxication while on mushrooms. He was still tripping when they brought him to the pod. Count time comes around, and this kid asks the CO to pop the door to his cell. He's tripping balls and thinks it's a good idea to give the CO a hug because he loves everyone and everything, and hugs will solve all the world's problems. The CO whips out the Billy club and beats the living shit out of this poor kid, went on for like 10 minutes. 10 minutes is a LONG TIME to be getting hit repeatedly by an angry CO with a Billy club. I can't imagine the horror that kid must've felt. I'll never forget his screams. A few other COs showed up eventually and just dragged the kid back into his cell. There was blood and shit and piss and snot all over the floor, and splatter on the wall by the cell door. It took them over an hour to finally come back to take him to medical. I'm sure he had broken ribs, and a broken nose at the least. He never came back to the pod, and the CO never had any disciplinary action taken against him. Truly sickening. Don't get arrested kids.
There are so few places you can hear things like this, the truth about what goes on in prisons, and its amazing to see that someone is willing to dedicate their time to getting the truth out and trying to make a difference
Larry (If I may), this channel is a real blessing. Thank you for digging up the past so someone can change their future. God bless you, and keep going! I support you 100%.
Larry, I notice the reason for uploading this version with the edits/re-recording with better grammar. I hope you know, the “i’ll never forgets” and the miss-speaking you do is part of the reason us viewers come back. I understand you are trying to boost production quality, but I think a major reason why you have such a huge impact on kids with the Reality Check program is because you are raw, uncut and you are you. When speaking on topics that are so impactful on your (and many teens watching this who may be wandering the wrong path)‘a life would feel a bigger impact hearing you speak as yourself. Incorrect grammar, upfront and real with things. There is a very fine line that must be walked as post-prison channel with such as huge motivation for prison reform with production quality and formality. One, as a viewer, can take note of the polarizing persona difference an individual is forced to bounce between formalities (when speaking to court officials, etc) and the real world. I hope this helps. I think I speak for a lot of viewers when I say we don’t watch these series for the production quality, but rather the stories, how their told, and the rawness of them. When the video is more uncut and you show the moments in which you have flashbacks and get goosebumps speaking about your traumatic past, it hits home for us viewers in a much different way than a thoroughly filtered and edited video. I know atleast, for me, that is one of the many reasons I enjoy your live-streams and the “recap” versions of Gangster Redemption versus the readings. Cheers buddy
Finally, when you start to do court-based series, I really think this double-lifestyle in the sense of formality-versus-the-holding cell is an important aspect of what it is like for an individual facing time, and it will be much more immersive than we see with other channels. I mean, you are literally waiting prior to entering a courtroom with individuals who may never see the free world again, that alone must change your perception on the judges/institutional and bureaucratic system alone. Love what you’re doing Larry, and I’m happy to join you on this adventure.
You’re one of the toughest but nicest ex con I’ve ever came across! You have the best content ever, you never sugar coat shit, you tell it how it was and I love that. Keep up the awesome fucken work, Larry!🙌🏿👏🏿🤙🏿

Larry you are a big inspiration .I used to judge prisoners and you gave me a new insight that most prisoners are people who just mest up.My dad used to work in the system and he always treated inmates with respect and I love how you give credit to the good guards.
Just imagining getting my leg broke like that gives me the squirms like god damn nothing justifies snapping a mans leg 90 degrees. Criminal or not that's just wrong.
it's just wrong. If you're an American, there is a specific law against cruel and unusual punishment - it's in the constitution. You either get a prison sentence, or in the case of an especially horrible crime, a death sentence. Even the death sentence is supposed to be carried out with only one objective - to disable the life of the condemned person, someone who is considered irredeemable and mentally beyond repair, it is not supposed to cause pain, torment or anything else - it just needs to stop the life of that person. In a civilized society a prison should be a correctional facility. A place where wrongdoers are required to be redeemed, shown the right ways and taught how to function in a civilized society. Its purpose is to be reformative, not punitive. That is in heavy contrast with how it is in the majority of America. Convicts are considered less-than citizens and are to be punished. Which leads to cases like this, and the general division of criminals and law-abiding citizens. Punitive systems only reinforce the division - criminals are only hardened by such a system. They are not reformed. And then you wonder why around 1% of USA citizens are currently in prison, and despite only being a small fraction of the world population, USA prisoners comprise around 22% of the world's prisoners. And let's not forget the fact that a lot of prisons in the USA are private, AKA for-profit prisons. People actually make money off other people being imprisoned. If that's not a fucked up conflict of interest, then what is?!
@@SMPKarma You're absolutely right. The American prison system is so horribly broken it's beyond belief. Now, they are letting hardcore criminals out of prison so they don't get the Virus, and throwing Christians into prison for going to church or meeting at homes in numbers greater than 10 people. Talk about Satanic injustice!! The school system is almost as screwed up as the prison system. I quit teaching after 4 1/2 years because the kids were acting like a bunch of monstrous rats. Sometimes, I felt like I was in a prison. The kids exhibited many of the behaviours that Larry says the convicts exhibit. No wonder so many 17-25 year olds are going to prison................. :0

You're a strong dude Larry, thanks for sharing your stories. Hang in there man!
Larry Lawton and Meek Mill should get together and share stories and together you guys could become a prison reform powerhouse duo. He's the only one I know who shares the same passion for prison reform as Larry.
Joel C. That’s a really good idea man
This sounds like an interesting idea
Interesting
Just thought this. Damn
Thank you for spreading the message.
I'm so early he'll never forget me
Oh, sup Matt. You really beat my ass back in the day huh?
Matt from wii sports lol your name
It's Matt!! Jump him !!!!!!!!!!!

Matt your looking older now, the coke must be killing you 🤣😂
I'm from SA, single mom showing my kids your videos, hope it scares them to stay out of trouble. Love your videos. Xxx
With our Prison's in SA with the 26,27 and 28's I really dont know which is the worst Prisons. USA or our prisons.. Scary stuff going on in there.
Hey Larry,
Have you thought about testifying to Congress about abuses in the Prison System?
They are all one system it's kind of hard to that
Powerful mission to reform the prisons Larry! It all starts with this channel and God bless you 🙏
He is a legend. And I’ll nevah forgat
Hey Larry, I’m a Corrections Officer at a county jail in Minnesota. Thanks for the good videos, and some of your videos are very informative. Keep up the good work!
So in your jail does stuff like Larry describes really go on?
@@soylentgreen2065 Larry is talking about prison.. this guy works in a county jail. Pretty big difference. Just sayin
If you’d have asked me 20 years ago if this guy is going to hell or not I would’ve said that he is going to hell for sure. Now, id say that he’s off to heaven, he really is a changed man making books, telling stories, helping people, helping police. Thankyou so much Larry, you really do entertain me and my family.
Larry, you're a stronger man than I am, I really appreciate your content
Larry your videos are awesome! I love listening it like a podcast
Anyone else notice the contradiction between Larry's shirt and his words? Shirt says, "I don't believe in bad people." Then he tells us about psychopaths that should never be allowed out of confinement. Those people didn't make bad choices, they're psychopaths.
When Larry is getting chills, you KNOW there is a good conversation going on.. Thanks for the stories brother, I am learning a lot I did not know.
ohh my email notification was late!!! I already saw this video.. LOL
Re-upload? Cuz I swear I watched this already
You have it's part of another video clipped from it.
Very tough video Larry but stories like these need to be told !
the Femur is the strongest bone in your body, the idea of snapping it in an instant is insane
It was not the femur that broke. It was the knee
Glad you got this back up the message behind this is amazing and I truly think you can make a difference with some patience
Don't get arrested kids.
how long ago was this?
@ ok I got released in 14 went in in 98
You are an inspirational character Larry ! Keep fighting the good fight bro ! Stay safe man . The world needs more guys like you .
In prison was it more difficult to make a tattoo gun, wine, white lightning, or love?
Gun slingshots and shanks are easy guns are super hard to make you need loads of things

There are so few places you can hear things like this, the truth about what goes on in prisons, and its amazing to see that someone is willing to dedicate their time to getting the truth out and trying to make a difference
0:16 intro looking like a Larry Lawton 2d video game lol
Love what you’re doing Larry, and I’m happy to join you on this adventure.
man thank you for your contributions and your memories
Hey Larry you should review AfterPrisonShow, just an idea/want to see if you agree with it.
Ye he should
I used to like aps, now all I see him doing is shifting blame to others, lagging, or putting himself above others
Joe is a leach. His content is garbage and is a total douchebag
I use to like Joe but his show changed
You’re one of the toughest but nicest ex con I’ve ever came across! You have the best content ever, you never sugar coat shit, you tell it how it was and I love that. Keep up the awesome fucken work, Larry!🙌🏿👏🏿🤙🏿

Is this a repost? I thought i watched this earlier
I was wondering the same thing, maybe he didnt like the way it came out and he removed the previous video but im pretty sure ive seen this a few hours before
Larry you are a big inspiration .I used to judge prisoners and you gave me a new insight that most prisoners are people who just mest up.My dad used to work in the system and he always treated inmates with respect and I love how you give credit to the good guards.

Larry man thanks for all the great content! I got my book a couple days ago and I love it! Your story telling is amazing, but your passion to make difference is powerful and real, I think you really might be able to make a difference with this platform. I wish you the best.
You stole insured jewelry, Larry. But you were never the real criminal in the American prison system, remember that.
He'll never forget
Did he rob the businesses while they were open?
@Slav Your address? I just want what you earned. I don't care if that inconveniences you or you can't fully recover your losses.
aureliusVA The jewelry was insured so it’s not like the jewelry owners lost anything. He did rob the businesses while they were open but never hurt anyone and used a PB gun (but never hurt anyone with it). It’s all on his book, which is on Spotify or you can listen to the summarization here on RUclips.
@@kusipaa Never physically hurt anyone. Having a gun (real or fake) pointed at you is not a pleasant experience.
He also made insurance for every business higher.
I understand the BS in prisons/jails, but saying no one was hurt and what he did had no impact is false.
In the past 3 days I’ve watched like 20 of your videos. Great stuff.
I admire your strength to tell the truth .
