❤ this is my first year participating and I am binge watching all of the participants videos and subscribing to their channels. My video will be posted towards the end of the month so I am watching all of these wonderful videos to get some sewing tips.
Hello! Thank you so much for watching and for such a kind comment, it means so much to me! Aw, thank you for subscribing, I’m off to find your channel now! Can’t wait to get to know you better, best wishes on your little dresses! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Instead of cutting 4 pieces for the pockets, you can cut 2 and save a little sewing time. If your pocket is 6 inches, for example, cut 2 pieces that are 12 inches high and 6 inches wide, plus seam allowances. You do not need to add for pocket top. Fold each in half right sides together to form 6 inch squares and press. Sew down one side and across the bottom, leaving a section open for turning. Then continue across bottom and up second side. Turn right side out and press. If you wish, you can sew across top of the pocket along fold or about 3/4 to 1 inch down to secure both layers or leave as is. Attach pocket as usual. This gives a smoother line across top of pocket as well as eliminating the top seam which can pull apart with wear and tear along that edge. You end up with a 2 layer pocket that will not wear through as easily.
Hello, Kathleen, thank you so much for watching and for such a helpful comment! I love your version of the pockets, I’ll have to give that a try! I so appreciate you sharing that with me! Hope your new week is off to a great start! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Aw, thank you so much, Kelly, for watching and for such a kind comment, your sweet words have absolutely made my day! I can’t thank you enough 🥰 Hope you’re having a great week! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Beautiful dress. I love the colors. I see you in your sewing room and outside working it wherever you can make it happen. Awesome sign of someone enjoying their hobby!
Hello, Pat, thank you so much for watching and for such a kind comment, it means so much to me! Yes, I’ll take sewing time whenever I can get it, irregardless of the setting, haha! Thanks for chatting with me, Pat! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Thanks, Tiffany! I have 5 dresses cut out for project dress a girl. Lots of sewing plans for Sept. 🎉 I love sewing for these little girls. I'm praying over the little one who will receive a new dress! ❤
Aw, hello, Lesley, thank you so much for watching and for such a kind comment, it means so much to me! What a wonderful idea, to say a prayer for the precious child who will receive that dress! It’s so rewarding to sew for this charity and ones like it, it feels so good to be contributing 🥰 Hope you’re having a great week, Lesley! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
I sew dresses for Dress a Girl Around the World organized by Rachel Eggum Cinador under Hope 4 Women International. Dresses are personally delivered by missionary teams in over 80 countries. All dresses have pockets, elastic necklines, sleeves (because in many countries shoulders must be covered), and a Dress a Girl label sewn to the front. I love this organization!
Hello, Joyce, thank you so much for watching and for such a lovely comment, it means so much! May you be blessed for sewing for this charity! It’s such a rewarding effort! Thanks for sharing with me, Joyce 🥰 Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Gorgeous little dress, Tiffany :) It was so nice to see Addy June happily doing her thing while you were sewing. I am not participating in PDAG for a few reasons, but the primary one being there are no ambassadors in my country (and before anyone helpfully replies that I should put my hand up, no thank you). I think it's a lovely cause with interesting results and enjoy watching what everyone is making for the charity and to see the kindness of the sewing community in full force.
Hello, Michelle, thank you so much for watching and for such a kind comment, it means so much to me! Haha, yes! I wondered if anyone would catch the little cameo of her playing in the background and there’s even a few seconds of Josh working behind me to set up my Kallax units, haha! It was a family affair up in the sewing room that day 😂 I totally understand not being able to participate. The shipping aspect to an ambassador from your location alone would be enough to discourage anyone. Hope you are doing well, Michelle, thanks so much for chatting with me! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
I'm with you, Tiffany... this is my favorite challenge (I don't participate in many) My favorite dress to make has been The Popover Dress by Oliver and S... a free pattern. I love this year's dress by Thoughtful Creativity, as well, but only made one of those so far. I'm on the lookout for a dress I like for the bigger sizes, sizes 10 and 12, and have tried New Look 6444 and Violette Field Threads Blake dress but neither are something I want to make many of. I've finished 12 dresses so far but hope to make several more by the time it's time to send them on. Super cute dress you made and adorable on your little girl.
Hello, Diane, thank you so much for watching and for such a lovely comment, it means so much to me! Aw, I loved hearing about all the dresses you’ve made and the patterns you’ve found along the way! My goodness, 12! That’s amazing! May you be truly blessed for your kindness and generosity! Thanks for chatting with me, Diane! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
I love the dress you sewed goid job as usual. Yes I am getting involved in project Dress a girl also. I have 3 cut out. My bf is coming over and we are good to sew. Happy sewing!!!
Hello, Karen, thank you so much for watching and for such a kind comment, it means so much to me! Aw, May you be greatly blessed for your generosity in making dresses! Thank you so much for participating! And how fun to be sewing with friends! I hope you’re having a great week, Karen, thanks for chatting with me! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Hello Tiffany! Loved watching you sew outside and in your new house! Addie is cute as ever! A birthday soon,,, if I remember correctly! Hopefully, I’ll get ten dresses or close to that as I’m participating this year and have ten PDAG labels. I’ve almost completed two. But for some reason my Diamond, Viking machine ,has decided to give me fits! I’ve got a smaller Brother as a back up and my nice Babylock serger. Not sure why my big machine has decided something must happen! I’ve done all the standard things to it,,, I’ll try one more time then take it in for service. Luckily, we have a Janome dealer who will also service other brands. If something is too much wrong,,, I’ll get the part and take it to him after he can discover the problem. First time I’ve hsd trouble with it. I’m loving to sew little girl dresses agin, such fun to add all kind of embellishments also. I sewed last year for our church mission sewing group, seven dresses with the pattern you sewed. This year, so drs I’ve used a t shirt and added the skirt and used the long sleeves I cut off to fashion a pocket for the bodice. It’s really cute. The dress I’m currently sewing is Alisas Thoughtful Creativity 2023 pattern and it’s adorable too. Any dress any of us can sew and send helps out I’m sure. The world needs ALL the help and kindness we can offer,,, esp today with all the disasters plus little ones already living in poverty. Take care dear and keep us posted when your new home is completed! GigiW. Aka Nancy,,,, from ft Wayne.
Aw, hello, Gigi, thank you so much for watching and for such a lovely comment, I just love reading your comments, it’s like chatting with a friend over a glass of sweet tea! I’m so sorry your Viking machine is giving you issues, that can be so frustrating! I hope you can solve the problem or the dealer can help you and get you back to sewing on your big machine soon! I would be lost without my big machine for sure. I also have a smaller Brother machine, it was the first machine I bought for myself to use. I think I’ll be making it into a traveling machine now that my big Babylock is up the stairs in the new house. It’s so heavy and I just don’t think I should be dragging it around to church sewing group and camping trips, etc. I’m going to get my Brother machine out and see if it needs any work. Last time I used it, it worked just fine. Your little dresses sound adorable! May God bless you for sewing for others even through your machine troubles! You have such a sweet, giving heart! Hope you and your family are doing well! We’re so close to moving in, hopefully by this weekend the builders will be ready to turn it over to us! I’m so excited! I’ll share more this Friday on Friday Sews, I have a lot of catching up to do! Thanks so much for chatting with me, Gigi! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
I love the dress you made. The fabric is so cute. I am amazed you are doing the dresses with all you have going on. It’s so rewarding to sew for charities. Great job Tiffany! Liz
Aw, Hello, Liz! Thank you so much for watching and for such a sweet comment, I always love hearing from you! You’re so kind, there is a lot of chaos going on right now, but my sewing time is so important to me! I love getting to spend a few minutes in my happy place 🥰 It certainly helps that this pattern is so quick and easy, haha! Hope you are having a great week, Liz! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany

Hello! Thank you so much for watching and for commenting, it means so much! Yes, the blog post linked gives very vague instructions. I would be happy to send you a copy of the instructions that I have to include the armhole pieces. You can send me your email address or if you don’t want it public, you can email me at Hoosier.handmade22@gmail.com and I’ll reply back with those instructions. Thanks so much for taking an interest in this Project! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Hello, Dillis, thank you so much for watching and for commenting, it means so much to me! Yay! It’s such a great little dress pattern, easy and fun to make! Hello, Lori, thank you so much for watching and for commenting, it means so much to me! 2 dresses is amazing, Lori! I had plans to make so many dresses this year and I made 0, so you’re doing great! Can’t wait to hear how your Coda turns out! Is that the quilted jacket? Did you quilt some fabric yourself for it? I love the look of those! Thanks so much for chatting with me, Lori! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Hi Tiffany, just rewatching this video to get some inspiration to do some dress a girl dresses for this year. Are you going to participate again this year? I hope so. I love seeing your dresses. I should try making this dress. I make my own bias tape so I'll finally get to use the jumbo bias binding maker.
Hi Tiffany! I like the pattern for the dress you're using. I checked on the website you provided but only see the tutorial -- no pattern, especially for the armhole templates. How did you do the armholes? Currently, I'm working on a Big 4 little girl's dress but I have to tweak it so that I don't need to put in a zipper. Happy Sewing!
Hello, Deb, thank you so much for watching and for such a kind comment, it means so much to me! I would be happy to send you a copy of these instructions that my quilt shop has given out. They’ve developed a better set of instructions, to include those arm hole pieces. Can I get your email, Deb? I’ll send it as soon as I can scan these into my computer. Thanks so much for chatting with me, Deb! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Hi, Zelda! In this video, I’m showing the size small, but I’ll be making all the sizes. For the large one, you need to add a vent to the back for ease of walking. If you need more info on how to do that, just let me know! 🥰 Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Did you donate a dress in 2023 that had a cris cross back opening? If so, what pattern did you use? This will be my first year participating, but I have already made 26 dresses (22 are reversible) and all for the older kids.
New sewer here never made a dress have a question regarding the arm hole , if you have to enclose the elastic at the top of the dress why wouldn’t the arm hole be placed below that allowance ? Doesn’t it make the hole too small if you put arm hole at top where you need to make enclosure for elastic? Thank you
Hello, Karen, thanks so much for watching and for such a great question! The armhole piece that I have was created with extra length to allow you to create your elastic casing. So the armhole is actually cut out a little bigger than what is needed for just an armhole. Also, you can tie the straps at various lengths, which would also give more underarm movement. I included a picture of this dress on my 3 year old toddler. The picture is at the end of the video. It might help give you a visual representation of how the pattern works. Hope this helps! If you need the set of instructions and armhole pieces that I have, please let me know and I can email those to you. Thanks for taking an interest in this Project! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Haha, yes! I wondered if anyone would catch the few glimpses of him in the background. He was hard at work putting my Kallax units together. He’s so handy, I’m so blessed 🥰 The room is starting to come together, I’m just so excited about it! Thanks for chatting with me, Lesley! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Hello, Janice! Thanks so much for watching! If you would like a copy of this pattern, just send me your email and I can send a copy to you. Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
