Hi, Tiffany's mom!!! Well, that was a fun and productive weekend - you sure can pack quickly 😄! I take my little Ott Light when I go on vacation and carry it around at home, too, in addition to a big stationary one. Love that cow quilt and really love the Valentine's Day table runner your mom made - you both made real progress on all your projects - definitely a winning weekend - thanks for sharing!

When a knit fabric curls it is a single knit or jersey knit regardless of the fiber content. Jersey or tee shirt knit is easy to sew as long as you don't stretch it sideways which makes it curl. I'm familiar with interlock and jersey but learned a lot about the other knits you talked about. Thanks for all your info.

The remnant section is SOOO nice! If there’s a yard pr less on a bolt that was put away my store will honor the remnant pricing. There is something to look out for, though. I’ve been to Joann in Reno, NV (where I live) and Roseburg, OR and in both stores have told me and other customers who have asked for remnant pricing at the cut counter and every time I’ve been told “it’s the marked price on the tag” when I know very well that’s not how it works! And I know the people weren’t new employees. Maybe lazy? So I always take them to the register to find out the price. And right now with the company being so up in the air, the remnants have been 75% off ON TOP of the sale price! Normally my store is overflowing with remnants and I found out, that’s why they’ve been so low on them!

I’m sorry! This came out so long! 😂 I have only shopped online at one store. They caught my eye and it’s called Boho Fabrics. There is always some sort of sale! Right now there’s 30% off cold weather knits. Their fabrics are AMAZING! The prints, the quality, customer service! All superb!!I loved my first order so much that I placed a second order the next month 😂 I’m a huge nerd and they have Harry Potter fabrics…at least 5 of them! I have purchased 2 of them. But over Black Friday they had a selection of fabrics that were 70% off and I got fabrics as low as $1.80 and I paid no more than $2.80 a yard. I’m plus size thus needing more fabric so I love finding a great deal! I spent $45 on my entire purchase of 5 different fabrics that came out to 15 yards! Wow, I never totaled up how many yards I got. $10.95 of that was flat rate shipping. My second order from Boho was their New Years sale that if you were in their FB Group you got 60% off sale items vs 50% which was happening the following week. I purchased 3 fabrics with a total of 11 yards (why do you keep making me count the yardage. I sound like a fabric fiend!) for a total of $50.15. $10.95 was for shipping. This order was a little more expensive since it contained the two Harry Potter fabrics and the sale was 60% not 70%. I love these types of videos and cannot wait to check some of those stores out! Ps: sorry this comment was so long. I just love to sing the praises of small businesses! They don’t do samples and later this year will be opening up a brick and mortar store in Maryland, I believe. Also, if I understood correctly, they even have an option if you’re plus size to get extra fabric added to your order for free. No matter where I shop, I just make sure I buy enough yardage. I know I overbought from Boho. I didn’t want to miss out on the option to make several pieces from the fabrics I purchased because I love them so much!

Hi, Tiffany! When you sew with knits, do you use interfacing anywhere? It’s always recommended by some of my sewing friends here to use the interfacing for knits. I usually skip interfacing knits unless directed by pattern. Well, I decided to try it and my interfacing made for knits doesn’t stretch once applied to fabric. Seems odd that this occurred🤔

Hi Tiffany, thank you for your detailed review on this LN pattern. The Arlington looks so lovely on you and will be a wonderful tried and true pattern for the future. I also mostly sew 3X in LN patterns and like you, need to add approx 2 inches to the bodice length. Wishing you happy sewing.🌸

The Arlington is my t and t for a normal jersey turtle neck and yes gathering for the bishops sleeve makes it much easier. I don't like the cowl version tho--maybe kind of bulky with a jersey?? If I use a sweater knit I use the Freya, it fits a bit closer and I really like the cowl on that pattern. Yours is so pretty and looks great on you.

Your Arlington is so beautiful! This pattern has been a favorite of mine! I made a dress with the short puff sleeves and cowl neck out of purple stretch velvet for my 23 Christmas dress. I have also made a tshirt out of it. This year I have used the bishop sleeves and mashed them with the Lenox from LN, which is another favorite of mine for Christmas velvet tops this year. Such a lovely fabric. I do also find that LN in general are a little short on me so I always add a bit of length. I also had base and any time I have more than 2 layers, so cuffs. Hem bands and some often necklines. I am so much happier with the results and learned that it worth the extra time. Often I save time because I am not ripping and starting over.
