    You have been really busy this week. I guess I would get more sewing done if I could manage to stay in my sewing room. 🥰Your Merry Christmas pennant is really cute. I agree with you that most people finish and hang them with bias tape. I have seen one that was hung on twine with miniature wood clothes pins. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find it. Have a great long weekend!

    Hello Tiffany, The advent calendar and pennants are gorgeous, they'll be a glorious addition to your decorating. We have started decorating here in Australia too. My husband has started putting the greenery up to be followed by the lights. My love is decorating the Christmas trees. We have two. My sentimental favourite is a Christmas palm tree (yes palm tree!) which we purchased when we lived in the Northern Territory of Australia (a subtropical climate which made a palm tree the obvious choice). I could not bear to part with it so back it came with us when we moved home. It's a reminder of wonderful times. I still have decorations that my children made in their preschool and early primary school years roughly up to about 7 years of age (that are 37 and 33 years old now). Along with some vintage decorations that my late mother-in-law gifted me about 40 years ago (and she had used them before this!) they are the most precious part of decorating at this time of the year. Have a wonderful week and see you next vlog

      Hello, Julie! Thank you so much for watching and for such a lovely comment! I so enjoyed hearing about your wonderful Christmas decorating traditions! I just love the Palm Tree! That is so neat and what wonderful memories surround that! It’s so neat that no matter what climate we live in, warm or cold, we can celebrate the same holidays in our own personal ways. Thank you so much for sharing with me, Julie, it’s made my day! Hope you have a wonderful new week ahead! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany

    Great plans and projects! I love advent! I stopped at Joann’s on my way home last night and picked up some flannel on sale to make a few simple Aline skirts for winter. The fabric is 44-45” and I’m a tall larger size so I hope I can get at least a couple of skirts. I might need to make some sneaky extensions of fabric but that’s ok, I’ve done that before. Turns into a design element, lol.

    No shame for starting Xmas decorating whenever it suits you - there is a house I pass that has a tree up all year round (ok, maybe it gets dusty?). I made a Vogue Advent calendar years ago that required fusing tiny pieces of felt together for all the ornaments with an appliqued background - by the time I was finished I pinned it together instead of truly finishing it and it has remained that way! Hoping to get to Joann this weekend - my husband probably thinks I'm there every week, but I'm really not 😄 - just seems that way. Hoping to start sewing McCall 8240 soon in a flat cable knit from Joann's in a camel color. It's been warm here but has to get cool sometime!

      Hello, Mary! Thank you so much for watching and for sharing such a lovely comment! Haha, yes, I imagine a year long tree would collect dust! Your advent calendar sounds so wonderful! How neat to have made something that can be used year after year! That’s what I hope for with this one for Addy! So looking forward to hearing about your cable knit sweater, that sounds like a perfect pattern for the coming cold months! Thanks again for taking the time to share with me, Mary, I so appreciate your friendship! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany

    Hi Tiffany, looks like you have been sewing fun projects for the holidays. I really like the way you did the triangles for the banner! They are really cute! I am getting close to finishing a button up shirt to wear under jackets and blazers for work. It is a new pattern to me, a Liesl and Co pattern. I’m also knitting on a pair of socks. Are you still doing fabric buying months, I think it was a three month rotation? I am probably wrong. I liked your stash update videos. It reminded my when you said you found the banner you’re making from you stash. Have a great weekend and have fun decorating ❤

      Hello, Cynthia! Thank you so much for watching and for such a kind comment! I loved hearing about your button up shirt! I’ve heard of that pattern company but never personally tried anything from them. I need to look through their website soon!
      Thank you so much for asking about my stash challenge. Yes! I’m still working towards using mostly my stash. Here for Christmas time, I’ve lifted my ban for the buying of Christmas needs, fabric for Addy or for gifts, etc. I’m trying very hard to not buy much for myself or to add into my stash. I need to do an update video soon, thanks for the reminder, Cynthia!
      I so appreciate you taking the time to chat with me, Cynthia, I hope you have a wonderful new week ahead! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany

    Tiffany, you have some fun projects in the works. What is scrim?

    • @universityofsewing
      @universityofsewing 2 месяца назад

      Scrim is a fiberweb in batting to hold the loose fibers together so when you wash your quilt it doesn't turn into clumps.

      Hello, Marcia! Thank you so much for watching and for your great question! University of Sewing did a great job in explaining Scrim! The pattern will tell you if you need batting with those restrictions of no scrim and the Wrap and Zap was very easy to find in Joann’s. Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
