@@eamonia you got that right about guns not being toys, and if a person thinks they are toys they have absolutely no reason to own or handle a firearm. I love going hunting or going out to the range to do some plinking, and although I do not fear firearms, I do have a very healthy respect for them. But even so, there is always that thing that should be going on in the back of your mind that accidents could potentially happen and to be prepared if it does.

All the silly and fun times are great, but it’s always important to remind us of the terrible potential. My steel plates are always set to the minimum plus 10% recommended. (I’m sure they have a 50% cushion but weird stuff happens). In the last few months two weeks apart I had my Buckmark and my Model 17 explode. Bad ammo is real and I lost my ejector from my Buckmark and got some very minor burns. The Model 17 caused a sympathetic detonation and I shot my crane on my revolver. Fortunately I followed all the rules of safety including ear and eye pro so I got no real injuries and my revolver is really designed to shoot .357 so the .22 lr did nothing to it. (The Model 17 is really a full sized S&W design they use for their 686 just with smaller holes for the ammo).

@@MegadethTillDeth I feel John and I may be cut from the same cloth...After a very rough childhood full of abuse and homelessness, I joined the military to make something of myself. After spending 9 years in the Army (w/o reenlisting- thats another story), I came back to my Lord Jesus during my second stint and was married. All along the way, I saw a lack of manliness and an utter dearth of even the knowledge of how to be a real man and it's been increasing at breakneck speed. Everywhere I looked, men were longing for true meaning, for leadership and to hear, "Its ok to be a man, in fact its in dire need." Since the Lord placed this burden on me, I started teaching a men's group that centers on biblical manhood and accountability and has impacted men from many different churches and areas thus far. Let me end by reminding you that I'm just a nobody, but the Lord put something on my heart and like a man does, I rejected passivity and did something about it. 15:43 Nah, you can get a bone replacement, either a cadaver bone, 3d printed bone, or a titanium implant. Personally, I'd go for the 3d printed 1, they've gotten REALLY good, they can now even print bone structures, with slow release systems in place, so for the 3 months recovery period, it slowly releases HGH and antibiotics. They're also fully bio compatible, with a porous structure, technically stronger than bone and also allows for tissue to secure onto it. I think it's probably been the biggest medical breakthrough in recent history.

Loved the video Scott, glad you showed what could happen if you hold a revolver the wrong way... New shooters might not realize it but you could lose a finger or two. Lots of pressure from the gap between the cylinder and bore.

Scott holding 500 magnum: somebody who’s new to shooting, and doesn’t know how to handle a revolver of this size will just hand it to somebody and they’ll just let them shoot it.
John: I shoot a lot of the tactical stuff, but I have never shot a 500 magnum
Scott: I am so excited right now
all jokes aside I know john is well versed in gun safety I just couldn’t help myself because this gave me a good laugh. Love the videos scott as always

Hey Scott! I really liked this video. It was funny but it also shows you how not to handle firearms. When I was in the 6th grade, a long time ago, a guy I went to school with decided to skip school with his best friend to go hunting. While getting everything ready, his friend handed him a loaded 12 gauge shotgun barrel first when it went off. He caught the blast point blank and it literally blew him into his clothes closet. He survived, but took many surgeries and skin graffs to repair all the damage. He was very lucky that day! Thank you so much Scott for showing us these videos because even though they're funny, they also teach us.

wait he took a 12 Guage point blank and SURVIVED?! 0-0
Guys I think terminators are real we need to run
In all seriousness that guy's guardian angel really had his work cut out for him and he is very lucky to be alive. Hopefully he learned his lesson on why you never stand on the boom boom end of a force multiplier

when i am out hunting, i use a custom made cover for the trigger that i have a version of for ALL of my guns. it makes it so that nothing can get inside the trigger area to be able to pull it as long as i carry it with that cover on, and it sits on TIGHT. i only take it off once i am positioned where i want to be for the hunt so that i do not missfire at any point on the trip or while moving from Point A to Point B. i am pretty sure you can buy them as well, but i made mine as i made little attachement points for them specifically on all of my guns.

@6:35 I personally know a guy who was shot very close to that angle with a Moisin-Nagant, from literally inches. Not by himself, but he was in stupid places with stupid people. It barely missed bone, but he still walks awkwardly. Safety first, people.

My father lost his best friend in the '80s on a hunting trip. His friend was out with his cousin and his cousin was moving a branch and a twig snagged the trigger causing the gun to go off hitting my father's friend in the back of the head. killed him instantly. super informative video man!

Lesson to be learned there. Never sling with one in the chamber. If you're point while scouting, it stays in your hands, and your buddy shouldn't have one in the chamber. If you're heading to your stand, nothing in the chamber and rely on your sidearm.

A friend of mine was hunting with another guy back in the 80's. He had a old truck with a bench seat. The seat had a seat cover with a gun sleeve in the front of the bench. When they got done hunting the guy stuck his 12 gage still loaded with 3" slugs in the sleeve. The safety was ether on or disengaged when he put in in the sleeve. As my friend was driving, somehow the trigger was depressed and the shotgun went off. The slug hit his knee. Luckily he was literally one block away from the hospital. He now has a wooden leg. The moral of the story is, don't hurt with dummies.
