Needs a part two, as backpacks are rarely empty with things such as folders, writing pads, computers etc, also what if you left the front of the Byrna in the back, as if you were caught off guard and shot with both pieces of armor in place.

After taking many years of AP classes, I can say that I am not sure how bulletproof my backpack itself would have been; but I know that my homework definitely was.
Back in my day we didn't need our bullet proof bags. We just used our hw.

@@MonkeyJedi99 Answer: A whole hell of a lot. Just sayin. End of school year celebration was to shoot my kids school books. Your kid would have spinal injuries just from carrying around that much weight in books. My kids enjoyed shooting their school books though. The ones I didn't steel for some light reading.

Also in the UK. Give clay pigeon shooting a go. It's really fun and shotguns really don't kick that much, even my mate's girlfriend who is under 5ft could give it ago.
I'm English, fired plenty of guns starting when l was 9 my uncle and his crazy pal gave me a double bareled 12 bore to shoot, l was a skinny undersized specimen even for 9 years ( don't worry folks l grew and filled out to be the magnificent figure of a man l am now ) it fired both barrels at once and put me on my arse, my uncle and his pal were rolling around laughing their arses off, l had a bruise the size of a saddle on my shoulder and chest l laughed too to prove l was a man, hoping to get their approval.
Thenat 13years l joined the Army Cadet force, and we were taught how to fire Lee Enfield, 303s a Bren Machine Gun ( fed by a magazine ) and as a treat an officers 9mm pistol. When we were taught to strip n clean the weapons we were assured that if we chose the army as a career on leaving school we would be far in front of the other trainees because we could shoot strip n clean the weapons already. So imaging my face when joining the army a few years later l was handed an SLR 7.62 automatic rifle and a General Purpose Machine Gun belt fed lol. Leaving the army later on l bought several air weapons and a blackpowder cap n ball pistol replica and shot those for years but after marrying l gave them away as l had no time for them really. Now at 66 last year l discovered co2 pistols and to be honest was amazed our ultra control government let us have them especially as some look so real you would need to be very very close to spot the detailed difference, l decided to go for the antique guns, Colt 45 peacemaker 5.5 inch barrels l have 3 one in silver pellet version, one in black pellet version, one blued in bbs. Also a Schofield m3 a Remington 1875 fires both pellets and bbs,. And a Weble VI in. 22

It would have been interesting to see if the first backpack would be able to stop some of the rifle calibers if it was in the "backpack mode" as in both plates on the same side. Since you wouldnt walk around with it in vest mode all the time.

That Bryna pack is kinda cool you gotta admit. Having something concealed as a backpack and just simply pulls out to a complete carrier setup on the go is *PRICELESS*

The pull out front bit is really the selling point imo. The back of a backpack will likely already have some decent bullet resistance from its contents. I remember how damn thick my college math and chemistry text books where.

I love seeing the interesting table disposals. One of my favorites was when Scott wrapped the chain around and up the trees. It flew up and around the trees like a crazed squirrel before flying out! Awesome! 😂

Dude in high school like 25 years ago I had text books that were like three inches thick and I had multiple of them in my bag. Those alone would have worked for most everything there.... actually it did since I did shoot them....

I’m glad you bought the Raging Hunter 460. I got mine about a year before they did their release at shot show and couldn’t find ANYTHING on it after I initially made the purchase. Couldn’t find any videos or even an article online about it. Not even on their website.

Scott, That backpack armor did an amazing job against just about all except the 4 Bore, which I didn't expect to provide much help anyway, mainly because of the extreme amount of energy that round carries. God Bless and stay safe.

Regardless of the gimmickry or otherwise, the fact that such things even exist is a huge condemnation of the state of gun laws in the US. Ours in the UK have gone way too far in the other direction, but somewhere in between there is an ideal situation.
What's really sad is how EXPENSIVE any kind of body armor is. Plus, it actually expires after a few years and you have to replace it.

Most Americans never need It either. The media sensationalizes the relatively few shootings at schools, malls, etc. and completely ignores the inner cities where most legitimate multiple victim shootings occur due to gang violence. Also, those in power are not actually interested in stopping the violence, otherwise they wouldn't be trying to disarm the public thereby creating more potential victims for the criminals who are completely unaffected by the laws they don't follow anyway.

I think its more so that they're trying to come up with new ways to sell more of their product. I remeber Scott did a video with bullet proof underwear. Unless your the punk in robocop, you're not gonna need that.

So for me it would be nice to have some protection since I already have a backpack on me. I like gear, even if I don't really need it, but i live in Germany and can't get this stuff anyway.

My army buddy's wife is a school teacher. One of her students randomly gifted her with a bullet proof backpack one day and it weirded her out a bit because this was the quiet awkward kid who never talks 😂
Anyway, she ended up giving me the backpack since she had no intention of using it. I decided I'd keep the bag and take the plate out and see if I could defeat it. Nothing I owned would punch a hole thru it up to and including multiple shots of 30-06. Weird kid, decent gift 👍

I was the quiet kid in school and I never had any bad intentions. I just don't like people especially one's my age that are either immature or highly uneducated. I actually prefer being around older people like Gen x.
In a perfect world there would be no worries about having a backpack like this, especially since it is almost time for school to begin, I so much thank you for this video, you have just likely saved lives for many students and given a lot for parents to think about when sending a child to school, you are the man! On a side note, nobody clears a table more fun than you always do! Keep it up for as long as you can, and my regards to your father!

@@AxleKlown I’ve thought for a while that a single armed security guard at each school would drastically reduce the violent crime that occurs at schools. Fast response time makes them a much harder target.

I'm impressed by the rifle plate. I'm wondering how heavy it is though- a lot of people want these for their kids, and I remember carrying a lot of heavy books back in the day. Not sure I'd like an armor plate as well.
If kids carried these books now, they woudn't need an armor plate. Not because higher level of education is connected with lower level of violence, but just 4 inches of paper having decent stopping power.
