Loving pugging around with all the oldie pvpers who came to the game waaaaaaaay after scorched earth who are raging over "how bad" the island - and yet the die constantly in the swamps ( my loving main base(s) locations. We got that in common. 9k hours on PC with mods unofficial running 5 server cluster. 7k hrs on PS4/5 official pvp. It's a great game if you get in with the right people on pvp. Or just find a decent pve server. I do pvevp now, running my own server on PC. I made all foundations and walls very difficult to destroy. And made turrets strong and unlimited, hitting hard. So you can pvp but you really need to risk trying to wipe someone. I believe that's pretty balanced.

I prefer solo for several reasons. 1. I want to take my time and do everything the game has to offer (finding all the notes and getting all the achievements) and 2. I don't have to worry about things degrading over time. I'm a mom with kids, I work and I volunteer for search and rescue and disaster relief so there could be large amounts of time I might not be able to play. 3. I'm not really a people person, I love playing alone. There is just some pride in breeding dino's and takeing on a boss all by yourself. I do play PvP on occasion but when I do I'm the breeding person. I literally stay locked in a room and just breed. I'm perfectly happy never leaving that room and just breeding crazy dino's and handing them off to my tribe mates to raid another tribe. I find my joy on PvP doing what I love and the pride when my tribe mates are successful and hearing their stories and praise for my dino's during the battle. They are all good and fun it's just finding what works for you.
Ok thats a big list but am 100% with you.... Solo is so fun and wen you play with someone you will feel bad if are offline or not on all the time you dont want your tribe m8 to do all the stuff wen you play solo you just feel free

PvP is extremely hard as a loner brotha. Not trying to discourage you but there’s so much cheating. I was just in a mega tribe that got dev wiped because the idiots were cheating. And the size of some of these big tribes… they WILL find you and there’s nothing you can do about it. You literally will be playing a game of constant running setting up new base after new base to hide. Played PvP from 2016-2021 and then started off on Ascended for a little playing it and have now switched to PvE. I’ve never been happier on this game haha. With no stress. Good luck my friend!
@@TheGeorgeBULL You can literally lose anything that you own in game on a pvp server by other players destroying and raiding your bases. You don't lose any skill progression even if you die until a server reset.
About PVE, dino became way more aggressive in ASA so I wouldn’t leave my character in open space without at least a rock roof over my head… in PvP I personally prefer play the fiber craft ones, so at least if I got killed or raided(it will happen eventually), is much easier to get back on your feet!
This is another interesting psychological aspect! I prefer PvE more .. creating something together is really beautiful. Trying to destroy something together is not so cool. :-)

Teach - Follow up mention I have said to ....every pvper in my old clans. To be an S tier pvper - you need to master pve first since atleast in my experiences - most official pvp hours are doing min maxed pvp methods. maybe 10-20% of time on officials is actually "pvp" which in my book does not include offline raiding.. . . . since there is no..."player" you are fighting - just pve defense's..... The best way to master pve elements is to do it on pvp setting. Since you never know when the hats gonna drop. Learn Grow, or Die.
If your talking official, PvE is perfect to have an outside life. PVP is harder, but there's a lot of PVP players that can't do the needed PvE style grind, so the better at PvE, the better at PVP.
Pve is terrible on official I checked probably 30 plus servers every spawn point is ruined the community has completely ruined the map for new players and I'd imagine the most important parts of the maps are worse
we have a problem when we create a server, not Nitrado then our host has the problem that the other players move very laggy. Not playable, and that was the case for all of us, so everyone tried to host but ONLY the host had the problem.

The official servers are a nightmare, my tames disappear and people spam foundations over the entire map. Unofficial is the best bet Join my server Bacon and Eggs
I work full time and overtime occasionally and still play pvp official solo without getting wiped. You gotta step up and stop using that as an excuse that you can't play Official PvP

I really watching these videos. *not here to make money Teach, just something to add. i and alot of other admins have started running serversr like business except non-profitable* I run a server anonymously and anyone who is toxic or bullies people for fun get an instant lifetime ban. They will be receiving 0 second chances from me. We also share their IP addresses with other admins too, so they can ban that person before hand. Say you can't find the server? Probably because you had a ban in Ase. I can understand how that would suck but you choose your own consequences in life. The ability to save someone's IP address is freaking amazing. This will happen regardless of how many hours you HAD on Ase.
I don't use any commands on official pvp partly to appreciate the artistic beauty and partly to compensate for the much lower average ARK IQ in megatribes compared to in my solo tribe!
Not many people on unofficial. This PVP crossplay server is the best one I've seen. Great mods and server settings. No time wasting BS. NA-PVP-[EZXP][KwikTame]. Base protection turns on about 10mins after you log out.

If you choose pve do you still can encounter with other players?
If you choose pvp and you die do you lose your progress.What do you lose?

I love that there is much less pillering in pvp.
