I wouldn’t say the gigantoraptor is a better or worse version of the maewing due to their differences. The raptor can help you track down babies and imprint on them and can even incubate a carry eggs on the saddle while the maewing can feed multiple babies in a large radius like a trough . Not to mention that the other differences are the Raptor being a Nanny being a babysitter and the Maewing being a nurse as its main role is to take care of multiple babies while the raptor’s role is to be the adopted parent.
I agree that it has some features the maewing doesn’t but using the egg incubator once that comes back is just a better option, I like the creature it just gets overshadowed by buildings for the most part (besides the feathers)
Xiphactinus is extremely overpowered in packs. I was looking for an angler fish on the center until I got attacked by a group of 4 mosas (2 alphas). They got absolutely shredded in less than a minute with a pack of 10 with no losses.
Yeah xiphactinus is underrated for some reason but that thing tears. I spent the most time on that part of the video because people don’t seem to get it
5:47 fasos submerge ability deals 75% of the targets current health And they can submerge creatures as big as gigas They even have multiple uses in PvP
Yeah it has decent potential in PVE which is why I didn’t have it at a 1 or a 2 for strength, in PVE it realistically will get hit for 10% of its health before it can submerge a strong mount every time and avoiding it is pretty easy in most cases. The 75% number is really insane though for aure
My biggest issue w/ the big bug is that it is way to overpowered to put behind a paywall being able to essentially air drop gigas and revive tames, that being said I’ll stick to SE yall have fun w/ that bull
I didn’t expect it to do NEARLY as much structure damage as it does, still doesn’t do much if the base has any heavy anywhere (obviously if it’s full underwater it doesn’t). The other issue is the thing is too big to fit into small bases so it is definitely limited
This may sound weird but for a while now I've wanted some kind of "poisonous" creature you tame by using narcotics as it's main food source and it could emit noxious clouds that could help you knock out other creatures/players (by feeding off narcotics)
while I do get that, I can say that would be the worst possible creature of all time in PVP because of caging. If it just worked on creatures that would be a cool concept though
I agree with the pay wall creatures, but it seems like this is the route WC is now focused on sadly, haven't bought a single creature or bob tales. They might get me with cosmo once aberration gets transfers opened.😂
i think the dreadmare is really cool to be honest, video coming on that later tonight if you want to see what it has to offer, i hated the pyromane and the bobs tales ones because they didnt add anything to the game (thats why i never made videos on them specifically) but this one i like

Acro will be the new Giga killer. Especially considering that you can pump points into health unlike Gigas and Carchars. I heard it can also do boss fights, make it the go to boss fighting creature for many maps. Great video!
Its size stat indicates it can fight bosses but Ark will almost certainly change that pre release. Even if you pump HP I doubt it kills Gigas and definitely won’t kill Carchars. They’re strong though and exciting!
@JasesAce at least in the modded version on ase, using vanilla stats, it's possible to breed and level an acro up to 50k hp with minimal mutation work, and still have room for some melee levels. They are berserkers, get a good saddle on one with that much hp and it regens 500 hp per second in rage mode, on top of the damage. So, you'd need a giga capable of dealing 500+ damage to a cap saddle imprinted creature to even scratch it, and even then its 50k hp vs 18k hp in a head on fight. Vanilla stats, 3x imprint, doesnt matter a ridden acro claps a giga, you either kill the rider, nerf the acro, or no giga. Carchars on full blood rage will still win though since they'll out regen the damage, at least until you get to later health mutation stages
At the time, some of the creatures were planned to be reworked before being added so I used the older game's footage because I thought that would make it clearer that changes were still coming to the creatures. In retrospect, I would've used ascended footage
I’m sure you’re more talking about how Dinos’ looks and abilities don’t match, but specifically during the Helicoprion entry you said it looks too aggressive. My brother that was a real animal. I think they should do more damage fs but the bp power is kinda sick for late game
I’m fully aware it was, and the look is cool, that was more of a critique on how weak it is at fighting. Most of these modded creatures are super strong and that one just isn’t
Not even gonna lie I kinda do wish that at least three creatures per Dino vote get added each time because they’re are some really good idea for all those creatures and it’s sad to see only one getting added at a time
Yeah I agree completely with this. I don’t see the issue with introducing 2-3 creatures instead of just 1 per map. I think we’d all rather have more new content and then they balance it later if needed.

I feel like you gave the Yi Ling a bit too high of a score considering the backlash it’s gotten from some of the community. Can’t speak much since it’s not been released yet, but from what we’ve seen in the dossier, it’s effectively a weaker and way smaller Rock Drake with strange eating habits. We got this in the creature vote over a giant, fluffy jumping spider that had hypnotic capabilities.
I tried the best I could to be entirely non-biased and I honestly do think that the eating mechanic should make it uniquely fun to use. I did consider dropping its uniqueness score down a bit and having it below the Gigatoraptor for what it’s worth. I think the spiders issue is people didn’t want another Noglin (even though it definitely looked more unique than the Yi Ling). Thanks for the feedback!
Nothing against you. It’s just one of those things that’s “interesting on paper, bad in practice”. An early glider kinda ruins the experience of fighting for that first Rock Drake egg. While the spider could’ve been good for traversal if it were mountable. A dino that climbs seems like a good step down from one that straight up glides and climbs, and the hypnotic effects could’ve been useful for dealing with crap like the Nameless or Reapers. Plus it’s a giant fluffy spider, I’m surprised it didn’t get more votes than it did.
@@windrider2190 for the record I did vote for the spider, you actually bring up a really interesting point about it trivializing the difficulty of getting rock drake eggs, I didn’t consider that part. Let’s hope it’s as pleasant surprise when released! (This is wildcard, don’t get your hopes up as much as I did)
I'm glad it did win. We do not need another bug after getting the ryhnio. Im still upset about the ryhnio so its good we aren't getting another bug. There are much cooler prehistoric creatures to add then an enlarged modern day spider.
You should get more information about these dinos cause creator of game said he will change it cause of fasol and make it better and have some interaction thingy with fasol
Yeah I actually do plan on making a video about the TLC he brings to creatures whenever they’re being released. The Concavenator is just currently the worst, I’m positive once the TLC hits it will rise a few spots. Thanks for the suggestion!

I think you could have been better informed about Garuga's work on the future of the mod. All archelon, brachi, concavanator, or cryolophosaur information in this video is incomplete and outdated. Honestly, I recommend to check more sources, or at least the official one, to check its validity. Otherwise others might get misinformed. Good luck in the future. :)
The video is 3 months old, most of the creatures you listed as outdated were changed in the past 3-4 months. This video was more to serve as a sneak peek for people unfamiliar with the creatures, of course they’re all subject to change before official release
@@fnezj701 I’m not surprised, it just doesn’t look great, the point of the appearance category isn’t entirely about how accurate it is to the original creature, it’s mainly just about how good the representation of the creature looks in my opinion
Heavies still stop the rockets if the base isn’t fully underwater but yeah it definitely has more use cases than I expected. I figured the rockets would do little to no damage to structures
Great question. I gave it that rating primarily because of the eating mechanic they’ve been hinting at. My uniqueness metric was probably somewhat flawed because I gave a 10/10 in uniqueness to a shark because it had one awesome feature. If the eating feature is not as cool or useful as it seems, I’d definitely drop the thing down even further than it already is.
The shastasaurus is like the biggest ichthyosaurus also there is no missile thing to shoot underwater also I am surprised brachi is first, dread is huge and strong, the ark addition Dino’s work different then the ase ones
Oh is the missile thing in the newest image they released not coming from the shastasaurus saddle? That’s interesting. Also the main reason I have the Brachiosaurus first is because I will never put a creature that Wildcard is creating in first place until I see it. After 7 years of playing Ark I’ve definitely learned to be skeptical of anything they promise to do. I will be making more videos when the additions creatures are released to the main game in Ascended, I didn’t want to speculate what changes (out of the ones Garuga has made since ascended dropped) will be kept/dropped in this specific ranking. I did see the updates but garuga is still tweaking it so I wanted to give a ranking based on the features we knew were going to be a part of its kit for the sake of this specific list. I am extremely excited to make more content around the Ark Additions creatures when the changes to them are finalized in the new game. You are right though, I should’ve bumped the design ranking based on the new games version
Hopefully shasta is aggressive. We need another underwater alpha and as far as i know theres only megs and leeds and an alpha shasta would make everyone shot the fuckin bed cause my god itd be huge
That’s an awesome creature but it’s a part of Aussie Additions which hasn’t been confirmed to my knowledge. If it was part of the rankings I would’ve put it at least in the top 5
I disagree with you about the Oasisaur. Reviving is super helpful when you're playing on this very glitchy game from Wildcard. I lost two tames due to a glitch that caused my tames to be sunken into the Oceanic Platform and being eaten. I was not given an indication until they were dead, so you're wrong on that.
I can’t wait to see it and make a video covering the changes when it’s released! It’s just as of currently, it would add the least to the game if added. By the time it’s actually released I’m sure that will change!
The dlcs for all these creatures are free except the oasisaur, the maps are all free DLC but they have some exclusive creatures like the pyromane which cost extra
There is literally no creature in the game where the "ch" in its name is pronounced as a "chuh". They are all pronounced as a "k" sound. Just so you know.

The reason for me not doing that is because the TLC changes in Ark Ascended haven’t been confirmed to be what they’re releasing. I do plan to give updated information in full showcase videos for each creature once they’re introduced to the base game because that’s when the changes will be “finalized”. From what it sounds like, Garuga is sort of just tweaking things for now and then Ark will balance or revert to the evolved version for their release. Good question!

L takes: basing like the entirety of the creature’s scores off their looks when their looks coincide with their function, AND for realism. Like the helicoprion isn’t even a true shark, and it wasn’t that big irl so I don’t see the point in dick riding its design for “not being cool enough”
Sauropod bias is real for sure, but the list is meant to be subjective. That’s why I talked about design for 5-10 seconds and implementation into gameplay for a minute.
hey thats the beauty of these lists, in hindsight the yi ling is super f***ing lame, and the Shasta didn't turn out to be functional but I stand by most everything else (cant wait for them to mess up the dreadnoughtus too)
Why do you care about other dinos getting power crept?theres hundreds of dinosaurs that simply suck because they're worse than anyone else at what they do so it doesnt really matter if it gets power crept if the mechanic remains in the game
i generally just dislike power creep in any game, in ark specifically power creeping sucks because it means all the lines that are bred on official become less useful or obsolete because of new creatures coming in and making that old creature useless. for PVE it doesn't have any impact, for PVP it definitely does
@@JasesAce I think they both have there uses, giga is a far stronger battle mount, and is pretty quick, obviously maewing is the movement king so I think it’s all a matter of personal preference
@@TheJuiceOjSimpson I see your point, my reasoning for ranking it low is because I think the strength of a gigantoraptor is its ability to help raise creatures, not fight. It’s definitely not a conventional way to rank things but I was moreso ranking for strength in the niche that it fills in the game. I do agree with what you said in the reply comment though
@@JasesAce understood and I agree, gigantoraptors ability is unmatched, being able to get the imprint bonding and the feathers is phenomenal I think the fighting part is just a nice extra that the maewing doesn’t provide, although when your as slick as a maewing you don’t need to fight
@@JasesAce the Giganto raptor does also have the feather mechanic thing where you feed it to the parent creature and the baby is more likely to inherit the higher stat (specific to feather type).
I liked the spider the most and the owl the second most. I'm moreso just hoping the Yi Ling is going to be unique, useful, and not just a worse rock drake

i reviewed the oasisaur and said i dont like it and listed the multiple reasons for that, and ranked all other confirmed creatures coming to the game at the time the video was made.

It's not overpowered in a gamebreaking sense, it's overpowered in the "this goes against how ark has been forever" mantra, reviving tames should not be possible, should not be remotely considered because creatures dying is part of the game
Cryo isbop, even in pvp you van slow enemy gigas or cnock plp And dinos out, se had hunt max breed gigas on map vs whole server i get the admin on giga scare when se pull up on speed cryos and trank giga in winter biome.
Well yeah not that they released the pyromane the oasisaur looks like a weak creature. I do agree that the challenge of reviving is good, I just hate the ideas of reviving at all and don’t like the paywalls for creatures
Ascended is a mistake, in my opinion. I uninstalled that trash after two hours. Evolved is still alive and well. The ase fasolasuchus is far better than asa. I want it to suceed i really do. But i dont have a quantum computer to play ascended 😂. I9-13000k Nvidia RTX 3070 96 gigs of ddr5 and it runs like hammered dog shit. Adding the fasolasuchus the way they did was stupid. It makes the concavenator worthless. I liked it much better as a brawling armored tank in evolved. Edit- sorry to be so negative but i hate the ark ceratosaurus. There used to be an additional creatures one that was like the actual dinosaur. All the spikes are way extra.
I agree that the Fasola and Cerato weren't executed super well, but I have to admit I'm surprised that Ascended isnt running just fine with those PC specs as theyre pretty similar to mine. I make content about Evolved as well (just made a video about Evolved this week) so I'm sure theres content on my channel that youll enjoy anyway!

I don't particularly hate these ones, some of them are even pretty cool, but the "fantastic beasts" creatures and some others from Ascended have been absolutely ridiculous. Wildcard is forgetting it is a dinosaur game. Hopefully Ark 2 brings back what old Ark had

I’ll shed some light on this to both of you; when ark RUclipsrs rank design they’re fully aware (at least I am) that the creature existed previously. I literally mention this in this video with the concavenator saying how the creature is just ugly, not to the fault of the designer at all. We say design because it is an easy way to shorten the criteria to one word, we could say “appearance and how it was recreated inside of the game” but that is just wordy. “This kid is a clown” is a laughable way to start a comment that indicates you listened to less than 2 minutes of the video.

Xiphatitus is by far the scariest to me,swimming around getting pearls and just appearing in the mouth of a creature is horrifying

Yeah I agree completely with this. I don’t see the issue with introducing 2-3 creatures instead of just 1 per map. I think we’d all rather have more new content and then they balance it later if needed.

I feel like you gave the Yi Ling a bit too high of a score considering the backlash it’s gotten from some of the community. Can’t speak much since it’s not been released yet, but from what we’ve seen in the dossier, it’s effectively a weaker and way smaller Rock Drake with strange eating habits. We got this in the creature vote over a giant, fluffy jumping spider that had hypnotic capabilities.
I tried the best I could to be entirely non-biased and I honestly do think that the eating mechanic should make it uniquely fun to use. I did consider dropping its uniqueness score down a bit and having it below the Gigatoraptor for what it’s worth. I think the spiders issue is people didn’t want another Noglin (even though it definitely looked more unique than the Yi Ling). Thanks for the feedback!
Nothing against you. It’s just one of those things that’s “interesting on paper, bad in practice”. An early glider kinda ruins the experience of fighting for that first Rock Drake egg. While the spider could’ve been good for traversal if it were mountable. A dino that climbs seems like a good step down from one that straight up glides and climbs, and the hypnotic effects could’ve been useful for dealing with crap like the Nameless or Reapers. Plus it’s a giant fluffy spider, I’m surprised it didn’t get more votes than it did.
@@windrider2190 for the record I did vote for the spider, you actually bring up a really interesting point about it trivializing the difficulty of getting rock drake eggs, I didn’t consider that part. Let’s hope it’s as pleasant surprise when released! (This is wildcard, don’t get your hopes up as much as I did)
I'm glad it did win. We do not need another bug after getting the ryhnio. Im still upset about the ryhnio so its good we aren't getting another bug. There are much cooler prehistoric creatures to add then an enlarged modern day spider.
You should get more information about these dinos cause creator of game said he will change it cause of fasol and make it better and have some interaction thingy with fasol
Yeah I actually do plan on making a video about the TLC he brings to creatures whenever they’re being released. The Concavenator is just currently the worst, I’m positive once the TLC hits it will rise a few spots. Thanks for the suggestion!

I think you could have been better informed about Garuga's work on the future of the mod. All archelon, brachi, concavanator, or cryolophosaur information in this video is incomplete and outdated. Honestly, I recommend to check more sources, or at least the official one, to check its validity. Otherwise others might get misinformed. Good luck in the future. :)
The video is 3 months old, most of the creatures you listed as outdated were changed in the past 3-4 months. This video was more to serve as a sneak peek for people unfamiliar with the creatures, of course they’re all subject to change before official release

Heavies still stop the rockets if the base isn’t fully underwater but yeah it definitely has more use cases than I expected. I figured the rockets would do little to no damage to structures

Great question. I gave it that rating primarily because of the eating mechanic they’ve been hinting at. My uniqueness metric was probably somewhat flawed because I gave a 10/10 in uniqueness to a shark because it had one awesome feature. If the eating feature is not as cool or useful as it seems, I’d definitely drop the thing down even further than it already is.

The shastasaurus is like the biggest ichthyosaurus also there is no missile thing to shoot underwater also I am surprised brachi is first, dread is huge and strong, the ark addition Dino’s work different then the ase ones
Oh is the missile thing in the newest image they released not coming from the shastasaurus saddle? That’s interesting. Also the main reason I have the Brachiosaurus first is because I will never put a creature that Wildcard is creating in first place until I see it. After 7 years of playing Ark I’ve definitely learned to be skeptical of anything they promise to do. I will be making more videos when the additions creatures are released to the main game in Ascended, I didn’t want to speculate what changes (out of the ones Garuga has made since ascended dropped) will be kept/dropped in this specific ranking. I did see the updates but garuga is still tweaking it so I wanted to give a ranking based on the features we knew were going to be a part of its kit for the sake of this specific list. I am extremely excited to make more content around the Ark Additions creatures when the changes to them are finalized in the new game. I disagree with you about the Oasisaur. Reviving is super helpful when you're playing on this very glitchy game from Wildcard.
I lost two tames due to a glitch that caused my tames to be sunken into the Oceanic Platform and being eaten. I was not given an indication until they were dead, so you're wrong on that.

The dlcs for all these creatures are free except the oasisaur, the maps are all free DLC but they have some exclusive creatures like the pyromane which cost extra

The reason for me not doing that is because the TLC changes in Ark Ascended haven’t been confirmed to be what they’re releasing. I do plan to give updated information in full showcase videos for each creature once they’re introduced to the base game because that’s when the changes will be “finalized”. From what it sounds like, Garuga is sort of just tweaking things for now and then Ark will balance or revert to the evolved version for their release. Good question!

Why do you care about other dinos getting power crept?theres hundreds of dinosaurs that simply suck because they're worse than anyone else at what they do so it doesnt really matter if it gets power crept if the mechanic remains in the game
i generally just dislike power creep in any game, in ark specifically power creeping sucks because it means all the lines that are bred on official become less useful or obsolete because of new creatures coming in and making that old creature useless. for PVE it doesn't have any impact, for PVP it definitely does

@@JasesAce I think they both have there uses, giga is a far stronger battle mount, and is pretty quick, obviously maewing is the movement king so I think it’s all a matter of personal preference
@@TheJuiceOjSimpson I see your point, my reasoning for ranking it low is because I think the strength of a gigantoraptor is its ability to help raise creatures, not fight. It’s definitely not a conventional way to rank things but I was moreso ranking for strength in the niche that it fills in the game. I do agree with what you said in the reply comment though
@@JasesAce understood and I agree, gigantoraptors ability is unmatched, being able to get the imprint bonding and the feathers is phenomenal I think the fighting part is just a nice extra that the maewing doesn’t provide, although when your as slick as a maewing you don’t need to fight
@@JasesAce the Giganto raptor does also have the feather mechanic thing where you feed it to the parent creature and the baby is more likely to inherit the higher stat (specific to feather type).

It's not overpowered in a gamebreaking sense, it's overpowered in the "this goes against how ark has been forever" mantra, reviving tames should not be possible, should not be remotely considered because creatures dying is part of the game

Ascended is a mistake, in my opinion. I uninstalled that trash after two hours. Evolved is still alive and well. The ase fasolasuchus is far better than asa. I want it to suceed i really do. But i dont have a quantum computer to play ascended 😂. I9-13000k Nvidia RTX 3070 96 gigs of ddr5 and it runs like hammered dog shit. Adding the fasolasuchus the way they did was stupid. It makes the concavenator worthless. I liked it much better as a brawling armored tank in evolved.
Edit- sorry to be so negative but i hate the ark ceratosaurus. There used to be an additional creatures one that was like the actual dinosaur. All the spikes are way extra.
I agree that the Fasola and Cerato weren't executed super well, but I have to admit I'm surprised that Ascended isnt running just fine with those PC specs as theyre pretty similar to mine. I make content about Evolved as well (just made a video about Evolved this week) so I'm sure theres content on my channel that youll enjoy anyway!

I don't particularly hate these ones, some of them are even pretty cool, but the "fantastic beasts" creatures and some others from Ascended have been absolutely ridiculous. Wildcard is forgetting it is a dinosaur game. Hopefully Ark 2 brings back what old Ark had

I’ll shed some light on this to both of you; when ark RUclipsrs rank design they’re fully aware (at least I am) that the creature existed previously. I literally mention this in this video with the concavenator saying how the creature is just ugly, not to the fault of the designer at all. We say design because it is an easy way to shorten the criteria to one word, we could say “appearance and how it was recreated inside of the game” but that is just wordy. “This kid is a clown” is a laughable way to start a comment that indicates you listened to less than 2 minutes of the video.
