Video isn't exactly comprehensive. Armor amount decreases torpor you mentioned it as a feature of riot, but flak etc still protects you from troodons better than cloth and so on. Tek has numerous abilities you didn't talk about, fur makes you cold when it gets wet. Ghillie reduces aggro etc.
Yeah um I was expecting a more in depth walk through of the armors besides the very obvious cold and hot stats. Each armor has multiple uses and things they are good for such as riot armor being the best against melee torpor in PvP to ghille decreasing wild Dino Agro range and allowing you to go into a bee hive without damage
That would require a lot of research and prep. These videos need to come out hot and fast. There will be a separate video coming out "YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT THE GHILLIE SUIT LET'S YOU GET AWAY WITH!!! NEW BUFF!" and that'll cover the wild dino agro range and bee hive thing 😅
Oh, that's good to know. A titan spawned over my base and walked over the bee hive I had just accidentally found, was able to tame 2 queens and there is a third but ever time I go into my hive inventory a limp away with half health...and I have. Ghillie set like 20 feet away lol.

Then the next day I played the titan spawned in and I ended up just doing other crap because it was literally standing on my base. So the next time I logged in, I popped on the repellant and ran over, couldn't find the hive because I guess it got stomped. Later I ran through on a raptor and got hit by bees. And decided to get stung and tame it then found a second. I found a third I need to go tame. I won't need it but maybe I can give it to one of my neighbors who wants a hive. Maybe they will trade me some nicer ghillie for it hahaha!
The Flak gear, the higher the Armour / Dura the worse heat resist stat gets. It doesn't get more minimal. Ive got 700+ armour flak pieces and heat resist is like -75 on them compared with lower quality pieces which are around -5 to -25. This isnt too much of problem if you are rolling with 40 Fortitude though.
Crucial missed points. Hide is the best cold resist armor once you start making high level versions of it. It is light enough to always carry with you, and you can use it as easily repairable armor since you can repair it without the need of a crafting station. So I have an armor question. Using flack armor as an example, each piece has 100 armor rating. How does it stack wearing all five pieces? Does that give you a 500 overall armor rating, and how does that translate into damage mitigation?
questions... its based off the amount of dmg mitigated by the armour stat, for instance same armour piece, one is 100 armour the other 1000,if the dmg from an attack is 100 your payer might take (this is hypothetical as i dont have the exact numbers) 50 with the 100 piece but only 5 from the 1000, but the durability on the 1000 will decrease more because it "took the hit more" so don't be lazy, go onto single player, spawn in a bunch of things like turrets and armours and try it out :)
I live in the snow where the murder snow eliminates you. However we have been attacked by naked survivors and it seems like they didn't have to worry about this element and I can't figure it out for the life of me
Yeah some good 800 cold res on scuba pants is always nice if you want to pair it with armor like flack and still survive murder snow but as you can tell people are dumb, fur is dumb, getting fur is dumb, just use flak n scuba
i used to run in full chitin ascended armor as it gives heat when worn + on fjordur its a life changer when used points into FORTITUDE so y never need fur armor but i dissagree not using it cause on GEN2 you get it very freely by drops or just missions but i have just broken the game completly since a SHADOWMANE with 40k HP and 2k DMG does the job on velanusaur stalk alpha
It's dirtcheap to repair once you start caving as you can easely end up with tonnes of chitin. Unless sombody is willing to use it to crafting cp it would go to waste (just use a frog for cp) and metal is precious for those great saddles and tools.
Fortitude increases torpo resist and how much torpor it takes to knock you out. With 4 fortitude it takes multiple hits from troodon to sleep you. To the extreme version of this on boosted stats something like 200 fortitude makes you essentially immune from being knocked out or passing out from hunger or thirst. Even on official 10 or 20 fortitude will help a ton vs torpo attacks in pve.

armour is the stat that causes your player to lose less heath, durability is the stat that eats the mitigated to the playyer, thats how those two work

Durability is not the amount of times you can get hit! A high level Dino can break flak in just a few hits!
