Madeira was one of my magical destination in Europe. The nature is amazing, it’s so beautiful. Those clouds in the mountains, the depth of the ocean, the food , the people. Your video brought me some good memories. Yes it’s majestic 😍. I went to see the natural swimming pools but It was in the month of February (cold water 🥶). You had fun there !

Hallo, Family On The Run! I am sitting at our hotel in Funchal, we just came back from a drive to Seixal and Porto Moniz and for some mysterious reason the algorithm gave me your video. Of course, in March the north shore was blistery and windy but we liked the raw nature and 23 tunnels in 47 km. Can you imagine how isolated these places were before the tunnels were build?
Oh, how wonderful! And we are glad the algorithm brought you over here:) It must have been very isolated, it reminded us so much of Hawaii, very beautiful place! Enjoy your stay in Madeira!
The first time I went up there and saw that plateau I was like "so, why didn't they build the airport up here instead?", to which one of my military buddies (who is from Madeira) replied "because most of the time it's literally inside the clouds". : )
To this day, it still amazes me how blue the water in Porto Moniz is.
Another pronounciation hint: the "x" in Seixal is pronounced like the "ch" in Funchal, so it'd be something like "Seishal". However, this is not a general Portuguese grammatical rule because in some words it's pronounced like a "z". For example, the word "executar", which as a similar sound to the word "execute" in English. : )
Btw, if you didn't know, Seixal is also a town in the south bank of the Tagus river, right opposite to Lisbon. ; )
I wish the island's North shore roads were that good when I was there. I only visited part of it because we hit a pothole and bent a wheel right after we left Porto Moniz. The guy from the car rental company wasn't too happy about it and we lost the deposit we put down for the insurance. We never got to visit the rest of the North shore all the way to Ponta de São Lourenço that day and we never went back, afraid that we might damage another rental car. It's the only part of the island I don't know and from what I've seen in pictures and videos, it's the most beautiful part. : (
Module, they said the roads were relatively new, and I guess we are happy they are there now. This sounds like a reason for you to go back for a visit again!

Beautiful, but not the best beach in the world. You should visit Arraial do Cabo and Fernando de Noronha, in Brazil.

@@familyontherun Yes, specially in the Northeast and Rio de Janeiro state. Santa Catarina, too (Florianópolis, Guarda do Embaú...). Lençóis Maranhenses Park is one of a kind with dunes and crystal clear lagoons.
As a Brazilian born, American from Rio, now in PT wonderment, I can attest Arraial is gorgeous, Maranhão's lençóis unforgettable.

Beaches are awful in Madeira mainly stone think there’s a few sandy beaches like 2 but are really tiny
