Scary was for my brave ancestors who where heroes that come for the first time for this island. They were coragous people that's why maderian people are so resilient.
A big compliment for the mix of travel, humor, honesty, authenticity garnished with fast cuts, cool sound effects and lots of quickly changing music matching the vibe of the shown pictures. I lol'd a lot. LIKE A LOT. I love your videos.
Awesome exploration and fantastic content!! My great great grandparents are from Madeira island... Family names are: "De Freitas", "Da Silva", "Botelho", and "Esperanza". They all moved to Hawaii back in the 1880's. Crazy that I only found your channel today, wish I found it sooner. You both are terrific!!
Hey would you recommend renting a car and staying in hostels or is there a cheaper way to travel between these locations…sorry to bother you but I really can’t decide and I’m visiting the island next month…thank you :)
My boyfriend and I are going to Madeira in October so this was a very fun video to get some cool spots in our itinerary. Love the crazy energy you guys have btw!
Thank u, in Madeira right now. Thanks to your video we checked out Porto Moniz yesterday, going back tomorrow. We will go to Abrigo do Pastor and plan to go to Doca do Cavacas. Obrigado ❤️🚙🇵🇹
Visited quite a bit (or as much as we could) of Portugal in October last year…beautiful country, people, history and food. Did not have time for Madeira but planning to go to enjoy. Thank you for the view of the island and helping with our on plans
I love your videos. I have no idea why you aren’t up there in views with Kara & Nate etc…. I love your senses of humor. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Archadas da Cruz was one of the best places I’ve been too! Really felt like I was transported to a time when the first settlers arrived on the island! Was nice seeing all the familiar places we went there in March.
Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo is the one hike/walk. (Levada)walks and hikes, not driving except between trekking points. A beautiful island with awesome ecology.
EXCELLENT vidéo! I just returned from Madeira, and was with a group of mature women who could not hike/explore. I am going to plan another trip and do the rental car thing! 👌🏾👍🏾🙏🏾
Well done video! Really enjoyed your footage, humor and vibe. We're headed to Madeira end of July. We will definitely visit some of the places you showcased. Jury is still debating whether we'll rent a car or not🤪
Truly Olivia, I know it’s easier to parallel park an F250 than a wee smart car too! Such a fun episode! Y’all crack us up in the best way!! and damn, that meat on a skewer looked ahhhmazin!
Machico! My dog's name is Chico, he's a 13-year-old, 4lb Chihuahua. As always, your edits are on point. The OG Super Mario level complete song was perfect.
Great video!!!! ❤🎉 we are preparing to visit right now :) I have a question regarding the car: where did you rent it and did you have any issues driving up the steeper hills? Did have issues with 40% incline?
We used Sixt. I just recommend a lighter car that does better on hills. You can ask them and they will recommend some. If you are just 2 people you won’t have any problem
Absolutely beautiful video.....got so inspired that I've booked a trip in June to Madeira....where did u guys rent this car (roof down).....would work for a family of 2adults + 2 kids ? Thanks much 😊
You would need a bigger car for sure but several places offer convertibles. Make sure you get a car that does well on steep hills, let them know you will really be driving around the entire island if you plan to do so. All the best, you’re going to love it! 🤘🏽
At minute 4:48, on the way to the car park for the hike to the 25 waterfalls, I thought you were also showing the road with a gradient of over 20 per cent. It would definitely have been worth showing. Unfortunately, we drove along there in a car with little engine power. That was "very exciting".
You never mentioned, where you sleep in those 5 days? Are you sleeping in the car, or in different locations or you travel everyday to different locations at the islands and returning back to airbnb or hotel?
Fair play to you guys, I went to Madeira last year with the intention of renting a car. The first day I was put off as they drive like lunatics around Funchal! Maybe next time! 😂
Madeira’s rental car GPS are flawed as crap. Me and my dad where there this fall and the GPS would take us in wrong directions and we were lost all the time. We realized that most of Madeira’s attractions can be easily reached by bus.
Hi Olivia and Nathan! My hubby and I loved this video of you all exploring Madeira! We have a question- we are heading to Lisbon mid August of this year and so far are planning to stay 2 nights in Lisbon, 2 nights in Sintra and have 4 more days after that. Do you guys recommend the last leg of the trip be in Algarve area or in Madeira. I was thinking Algarve until we saw this video- now we are thinking the quick flight to Madeira might be worth it(=
Another amazing video. Thanks for the tip about the Achadas da Cruz cable cars. Curious what car rental company you used? I read some mixed reviews about the typical U.S. car rental companies over there like hertz, enterprise, etc. Not sure if I should rent from Madeira Rent or Sixt… or do they charge extra for American tourists 🤔😂
99.7% of Madeira will be 99.7% the same as the rest of the island (just as it is for all islands in the world). :D Two days and I head off to Funchal. I'll be fine knowing as much of what it's got to offer as I can in my time there.
Please please please may I ask a question? We're hoping to move to Portugal (possibly Madeira or somewhere near Porto), but we have two cats! My husband says it will be absolutely impossible to find a rental property that allows pets, unless it's mega expensive or charge a lot on top for the pets. What is your experience if you have any or noticed anything? I'm desperately wanting to keep my cats 😭 (both have passports, vaccinations, were from EU). Thank you ❤
No it's not, it does have parking machines in Funchal and touristic places, most with coins. There are a lot of parking paid underground garages at the malls as well.
Hope you guys don't have to pay for a new set of tires🚙. Every time you went to a diff. town Yall was burning RUBBER.--Just kidding . Loved the video, right on 🎯.
Madeira is a small island, 34 ish miles long, 14 ish miles wide. You can do road trips around the island but head back to the same accommodation each night.
As a madeiran speaking.... Don't, really don't, just hire a guide and go in an " escursion ", renting a car here, roads are narrow, you're ALWAYS going up or comming down, and if you take the wrong turn... It can be a significant emotional event ( renting a taxy or a " tour group " is probably cheaper and not remotelly as stressfull )
Scary was for my brave ancestors who where heroes that come for the first time for this island. They were coragous people that's why maderian people are so resilient.
First video of the channel i watch because i am about to visit Madeira. I definitely felt like i was with you too. You guys are so original and fun.
A big compliment for the mix of travel, humor, honesty, authenticity garnished with fast cuts, cool sound effects and lots of quickly changing music matching the vibe of the shown pictures. I lol'd a lot. LIKE A LOT. I love your videos.
You guys are killing it with these Madeira vids!
Thanks again! We really appreciate the support! All the best! 🤘🏽

I live here for the past 12 years and I absolutely LOVE this island! Your video is very well done, great image quality, I love it!

… that ride with the two locals in charge looked totally crazy… lots of fun…
Archadas da Cruz was one of the best places I’ve been too! Really felt like I was transported to a time when the first settlers arrived on the island!
Was nice seeing all the familiar places we went there in March.
The video is fantastically well put together, definitely a great way to promote the island.
Had great fun watching your video.
Its looks the weather was perfect during your stay, lucky guys
You made my mind up..I have to go there!
Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo is the one hike/walk. (Levada)walks and hikes, not driving except between trekking points. A beautiful island with awesome ecology.

I was wondering... and then awesome!

This looks amazing, euro and cali in one! I am thinking to put this on my list just because I am a spa snob.
Love the videos! Great way of showcasing the island. This place has been on my bucket list and because of your video, it’s moved up on the list!
Guys your video is great and you are so easy and entertaining to watch! I look forward to your next one - always!
Awesome video and thank you for sharing your tour❤❤
This place is pretty dope... Nice video!
Absolutely awesome ❤❤❤❤
Thanks!

Great video i was wandering too about a video on the road!

Gr8 tip on the Brookland Mattress 😁
Love you guys! Nathan, you're one lucky man!
Great video! Very scary driving conditions! Are you using a Insta360 camera for some of your shots?
That was awesome❤
Fair play to you guys, I went to Madeira last year with the intention of renting a car. The first day I was put off as they drive like lunatics around Funchal! Maybe next time! 😂
Thank you for sharing such great video about my birth place , definitely is an amazing place if may say so 🤣🤣🤣🙏🏻🇵🇹❤️
how was the car - wondering what to hire when visit.
Which camera you used? Please give me.reply
Great video! We’re going end of September. Where would you recommend to rent a car?
And its amazing, acording with customers, that all faulty clutch cars only go from factorie to Madeira Island…
Hey, when you rent a car you must give a deposit? How mucz cost deposit?
Such a wonderful place! Greetings from Canada 🙂

I read a reply up higher on this feed where they mentioned using Sixt. I personally LOVE Sixt- have had great experiences with them this past year.

Sorry but I have no clue. We don’t have any pets. I would just Google what the current laws are for bringing pets. Best of luck! 🤞🏽
Driver seat on the right or left please? Is it similar to US? Only manual?? Thank you!
On the left side
great video, thanx. Love all of your work. Just one question. do you have to pay for parking your car? Is the whole island free?
No it's not, it does have parking machines in Funchal and touristic places, most with coins. There are a lot of parking paid underground garages at the malls as well.
Jo ar funny as two hamsters in a church, loved the vidääo!
Haha thanks 😂
Nice...!! Thanks
Hope you guys don't have to pay for a new set of tires🚙. Every time you went to a diff. town Yall was burning RUBBER.--Just kidding . Loved the video, right on 🎯.

What rental company did you use? Were you happy with them?
Where did you rent the smart car from?
Sixt but there are many car companies, just check for good reviews 👍🏽
Madeira is the spot to holiday. hotels and car rentals can be pricey though.

@@ONWorldTravel thanks!
Nice video but you missed curral das freiras my hometown

Where did you guys sleep during your roadtrip ??

Do not use Sixt Funchal airport a franchise owned by JAPrec rent-a-car read the reviews. Horrible experience.
Fast and Furious Madeira Drift yo
Let people know: stick shift, roundabouts, impossible hilly roads when not on main roads.
Bom Dia. Guten Morgen Funchal 🌺🌷🌹🥀🌸🌷
Bom diiaaaaa 💖
How was parking at all the places. Debating getting a car….?
