- Sylvia Browne was a woman who claimed to have psychic abilities and rose to national attention in the early 90's. She would found her own church, make millions through donations and book sales, and appear many, many times on various television programs. Also, she was a fake and actively involved herself in high-profile criminal cases for attention by making bogus claims involving the location of missing individuals or remains. She was wrong basically every single time.

On the date of her death, you've no idea how hard I was hoping you'd say she died at 87 on the very day before her 88th birthday.
My GF wanted to see Theresa Caputo's show once. I was not familiar with her so did not know what to expect. She come out on stage and within 2 seconds I just wanted to scream: "She's got an earpiece under wig. There are people doing Google searches back stage." It was the most easy to spot con ever.
I seriously love this style of content! I'm so glad you're willing to branch out to more niche forms of videos! keep it up, Darkness!
She could supposedly see the future...But she wasn't psychic enough to see how her several failed marriages were gonna turn out?
Yeah, that's pretty sus
Not defending her, but just skills in general (presumably she had no "psychic" skills), what you said it about the equivalent of saying you're a crappy football player if you didn't score on every play. No set of skills comes without failures - bottom line.
@@keiththorpe9571 She reiterated in her books how her own story to come would never be revealed. It defeats the purpose of having an incarnate life here. It'd be like cheating.
She's one of those people that when you look at her, you can kind of tell that there's something off about her......
Quandary : If she was psychic she would surely know whether the money existed.
Before the internet she would be on Montell
This is why I like James Randi for exposing and countering frauds like this
"a pneumonia like illness will strike in 2020"
YEAH, IT HAPPENS EVERY YEAR, IT'S CALLED THE FLU SEASON!
my man you misspelled psychopath in the title of the vid.
Well then I'd also have to change "fake" to "real."
Revealing isn't it... Little research
This really covered the highlights [or more appropriately, the 'low-lights'] of Browne very well.
In the 1980s into the '90s, she was popular in the San Francisco Bay Area, making numerous TV appearances on local shows.
In a 'People Are Talking' episode in the early 1990s, she informed a mother that the missing daughter was deceased. Turns out years later that daughter was found and alive.
I first became aware of Browne [in the mid-1980s] through my [then] sister-in-law, whom herself was an extremely perceptive person. At first she spoke favorably of Browne, becoming personally acquainted with her. But, my sister-in-law had issues of the greed aspect with Browne, charging in the mid-1980s a $300 fee for a one-hour reading [that equates to nearly $850 in 2024]. That greed aspect of Brown led to a falling-out with the sister-in-law.
My brother bought into the psychic scam, telling me at the time that our Mom would die before our dad. Turns out years later Mom outlived her husband by 12 years. I held hard feelings against my brother for his verbal cruelty towards me with his dire [and false] prediction about Mom's fate.
I appreciate this video brought up the subject of the legal issues Browne was involved in. As coincidentally, her one-time popularity in the SF Bay Area withered away at that time, where she crawled away from California, only to reappear and become the darling with the media in New York.
This woman was pure evil
So she was basically a modern day Nostradamus.
I was likeost skeptical but now especially after Sylvia's fake "predictions" I lost all faith
From LMS Fury to Sylvia Brown things I'm interested in. I'm subscribing
there’s a huge difference in my opinion between someone reading palms, or reading tarot and offering entertainment, and someone telling a grieving parent that their child is still alive, or claiming someone missing drowned and won’t be found etc. That’s abusive and mean. Sylvia was a very evil person.
She died at the age of 77... guess she didn't see that coming.
Would you do a video about Wasatch Railroad Contractors, if you like doing these scam videos so much?
And people get sucked in by these "things".....
Couldn't pick a more culty name if you tried? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
Scientology.
What did I win?
BTW - tapping into vibrational frequencies means that she could HEAR.
Winston Wolfe is the only psychic with a 100% success rate.
As I always say, psychics aren't all bad. It depends on the sole person thrmselfes.
Shit, _redacted_ , that's all you had to say
@@moblinmajorgeneral WDYM?
@@ALCO-C855-fan Winston Wolf is a character from Pulp Fiction
@@moblinmajorgeneral I wasn't even making a statement about him.
They're all fakes!
So, I'm a heavy set guy who wants to start acting career. I play a psychic who gets involved in people's lives. Michelle is going to be called LARGE MEDIUM
My grandma loved her. Hearing this brought back so many memories lol. I miss you a lot, grandma ❤
Listen, just because you don't believe into something don't mean it's all bad or lies since there are things humanity just can't understand. Though in this case, I get it.
Subscribing right now! ❤😊
Miss Cleo was the only telemedium to play it kinda smart.
As for the 2020 pneunomia claim: OOF! I might believe into the paranormal, but I'm not an idiot eitger. Tgat lady really... Had a problem.
Hmm
Let's say it tgat way: Every psychologist who truely believes into sth. (WITHOUT BRING CRIMINAL) is an okay psychologist cuz they atleast truely believe, not using it for fraud.
We only hear stuff you don't believe into. Just so I get a better picture: Are you actually atheist? (Wich is fine but Idk.)
I'm Catholic.
@@HistoryintheDark Oh. Good to know. I'm born evangelic, but honestly I have multiple believes. From everything a bit. Everything that's not toxic to otheres so to speak.
@@HistoryintheDark Neat. Also it kinda soundede like you say that all psychic mediums are bad- (Not that you did of course but it kinda sounded like it.) just wanna tell ya: That ain't true. It's always the one person, not a group of beings.
@@ALCO-C855-fan well, anybody, like this woman, who talks "to the dead" or engages in any sort of Divination or anything else a psychic does participates in a form of blasphemy against God. This is the position of the Church. I hope this woman converted on her death bed. Otherwise... Well, we can pray for her. God is not bound by time so He can use our prayers to help bring her home where she belongs.
@@ALCO-C855-fan Be careful with this. What you are describing is syncretism, and it allows you to build a "god" in your own image. That can't save you. Only Jesus can do that.
