- Peter Popoff is a notorious televangelist who claims to spread the word of God. He has also claimed to bestow divine healing, the ability to speak directly with the Lord, and to possess miracle spring water that heals everything and grants miracle debt cancellation. Absolutely none of that is true. He's a crook.

As someone who isn't religious, it's still nice to see you call out the snakes.
Top Five Worst Televangelists coming soon?
Or maybe "Top Five Televangelists that were weird science experiments" 😂
You know you're dealing with a charlatan when they focus solely on healing your body or finances and not the most important healing--your soul through salvation.
I remember seeing this guy on TV schlepping that water and thought it was a scam!
You weren't wrong.
Kenneth Copeland makes this guy look like Mother Teresa.
Ken Copeland is a hellva rapper watch Remix bros.
@@CountryCarReviews WHOOOOOOOO!
Being a Protestant Christian, and a fan of George Carlin, televangelist are a form of entertainment to me.
Based George Carlin enjoyer
. Yeah, any pastor owning three. G650s is not trustworthy.
I subscribed for the trains, and I stay for the history content on absolutely random topics.
Peter Ripoff.
There's a special place in the afterlife for people like Peter Popoff, right alongside other infamous historical figures, that's as politely as I can put it.
Never trust a pastor who drives a nice car and has a bigger house than you.
You guys shoukd look up a televangelist name Camping and his many attempts ro predict the end of the world. The dude ruined alot of people lives with that
To be fair.
My pastor is married to a lawyer and she paid for the house.
It's more of a red flag over here in Catholic land since our priests can't marry.
@@HistoryintheDark That's an ENTIRE PARADE of red flags.🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘
Exactly. Hell one of a megachurch called Redemption just traded in his 3 Tesla's in for two new Cadillacs and a Tahoe at a dealership I work for
@@TheA53ford Oops... Though I'm not ready to say ALL 100% of these are like that. Exceptions exist everywhere. The problem here is: They don't get talked about much + they're pretty rare. Sadly.
Popoff reminds me of the televangelist played by R. Lee Ermey in the 1989 movie Fletch Lives.
The name Peter Popoff sounds so unfortunate. Especially if you’re as immature as I am.
There's a sucker born every minute PT Barnum
I knew a vicar with a penchant for Volkwagen Passats.... that's about as ritzy as it get for me.
7:44 Ah the legendary James Randy.
Give 10 percent of your income. Not for God to use, but to help His people and the church! But not a loud mouth fraud!
Chernobyl water is probably the last water that would cure you of anything, accept maybe being alive. I don't even think it'd cure thirst.
Catholic, and liking the idea of the holy inquisition more and more
I have a friend who raised catholic. He also uses all catholic phrases when talking about protestants. It's adorable.
Be sure to look up the Pastor Gas or Farting Preachers, especially Kenneth Copeland. Really evens things off.
I really like this style of content! keep it up Darkness, You're doing great!
Drinking, "ANYTHING", from Chernobyl.....is akin to...like......voting for#-45👹!!!!
The flashiest thing that I ever saw from my minister was a Plymouth Reliant 4 door.
The flashiest vehicle I ever saw my priest drive was a Chevrolet Colorado crew cab, one of the older GMT355 ones from 2004-2012. Doubt it had any more than four cylinders.
It's so so so wrong. these poor people it's terrible how these people can take advantage of them. it show's how awful they are. Well done Darkness, Permission to land maybe lol ;-)
Dear Darkness please if you can can you make a video about great Smokey mountain railroad 1701 & southern 722 I’ll do anything and know I love your videos I’m your biggest fan and if you can devote yourself a little more towards trains as I can’t go a day without your videos
Darkness, if you aren't still practicing, come back to the Church! I was a porn addict for three years until I started reengaging with God in the Sacraments. It took a while and a LOT of Confessions, but over time I got the graces necessary to build up resistance and I've been clean for two years! No money paid, because the Sacraments are my right by God's grace and my membership in His Church. No psychiatric help, either!
Do Frisco railroad 4-8-4 northern 4500 😊
To make the big bucks one has to spend big to make it happen. Popoff has spread his tentacles out in every direction dipping into the pockets of the credulous believe anything rubes willing to toss every dollar they have into his prayer pot. This ensures that Popoff's prayer is answered.
Peter Popoff and his ilk does have a place in God's plan: they remind me to read the Bible and think, don't be selfish, and remember rain falls on the sinner and the righteous alike. I have seen miraculous healing but through large doses the prayers of loved ones and modern medicine. I've also seen where despite our best efforts the answer to our prayers are "no." Off topic but my favorite Book of the Bible is Daniel, where the three men are about to be thrown in the furnace, not knowing if they will live or die, but knowing whatever happens, God will look after them.
How is it legal, just buy a senator or congressman or a few! Donate to their campaign! It’s a miracle!!
The First Amendment might be to blame for that as it guarantees the right to practice your religious beliefs without the fear of persecution by the government, even if said beliefs are simply lies to make money with. The only time it becomes a problem is when the IRS starts to audit these individuals, are accused of doing something illegal, or are caught doing something that goes against what the faithful have expected of them.
Even then, I think a pastor encouraging people to donate to a politician’s election campaign crosses a line. In my view, that is an endorsement of a political candidate, and I don’t think nonprofits can do that under the last seventy years of tax code, in large part thanks to then-senator LBJ.
Even the USCCB has gone on record supporting the Johnson Amendment, and even if that was repealed, most bishops would be against their priests endorsing candidates from the pulpit.
And Popov & his wife is still around.
I'd rather trust a pastor who is humble enough to take the city buses with the citizens of the city/town that the church is in, ride bikes or run/walk to the church
Snake oil sales man 😂
He''s still ripping people off. How the hell is it legal?
Cause he uses the word of god and anyone who does that can't be evil
Toothless regulations, that's how he keeps getting of scott-free.
I think thst this is what is meant by using the lord's name in vain.
One side of the issue, for sure. There's also swearing using the Lord's name.
Why do they all sound the same as well though ? All got that same funny Faith healer's voice ??????????? Dude cool vid Dakrness 🙂From daz and my dog max in the UK.
I think the voice is just how a lot of wealthier Southerners speak, as someone who grew up in the state of Georgia.
The Southeastern United States is heavily evangelical (mostly Southern Baptist, though other groups are prevalent), and so many evangelical preachers who go on television are either from the South or probably adopt that manner of speech to appeal to their primary audience.
Of course, part of that is also yelling a lot in order to keep the audience’s attention. Frankly it comes off to me as annoying and childish. They’re already using microphones, so the congregation can already hear them well. They’re like those annoying tour guides who repeat their initial greeting to the crowd louder if they don’t get the response they want (that’s the worst part of any tour).
What brought this video about Josh, if I may ask?
If the preacher's house is bigger than God's house, something is seriously wrong.
As a Christian, I believe in faith healing, however, I don't believe in faith healers.
Also if these guys aren't Catholic, they're "reverends", " pastors" or "ministers" not "priests".
This guy and his ilk disgust me.
Came for Trains

He's wearing an earpiece. Why would someone who can heal cancer need a hearing aid? Stephen Banacheck was helping out James Randi when he took Popoff down.
Awesome video! Now do Billy Graham. He was just as bad
How is this not practicing medicine without a license?
Just a quick note... We locals use a long a in Chaffey.
Keep up the great work Darkness we all love you ❤❤❤

There non-charlatan televangelists?
I dont believe that one bit
A FEW. They do exist.
@@HistoryintheDark Archbishop Fulton Sheen was one of the OG Televangelists and the real deal, a lot of his teachings can still be found here on RUclips.
More difficult to find due to how loud said charlatan televangelists are on the airwaves.
@@StaffordMagnusthat dude kinda scared me as a kid. Kinda had a dracula vibe going on lol. Definitely talked about blood alot 🤔
Do not take the lords name in vain.
Can you imagine the Catholic pope and this guy?
‘4 million dollar house? Those are rookie numbers’
Keep in mind that the Pope lives in a house that has been around for a very long time. He didn't build it or design much of anything in it. Also, I wonder if you're conflating St. Peter's Basilica with the house of the Pope. The physical churches are the house of the Lord, not the Pope.
Could Popoff be related to Biden perhaps, I mean lying used to run in the family..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
no, that's just _all_ politicians
