@@nathancorcoran5347 another good train to ride, not too far from cass, if you like antique diesels is the new tygart flyer out of Elkins 4 hours round trip, there's also the cheat mountain salamander that's an 8 hour 1 way trip, I like all kinds of trains
Lovely place. A lot of my family is from West Virginia. So, I know it well. It truly is the Mountain Mama. I haven't visited the Cass yet. But, after seeing this, it's the next thing I'll do.
I rode the Cass with my father this past weekend. It was an amazing experience, 10/10 would absolutely do it again! Unfortunately, the weather was not great and Bald Knob was completely fogged in. Couldn't see a thing.
Glad to see you make it up to, what I would consider, one of the steam railroads in the country. I went on the Cass Scenic about a decade ago, and it was one of the best train rides I've ever experienced. I've been yearning to return at some point in the near future, because it's such a unique little line.
I wonder how far along they are in their projects how close are they to finishing the connection on the line from Cass to Durbin And what’s the update on rebuilding Western Maryland Shay number 6 I think correct me if I’m wrong at one time the Norfolk and Western railroad had a 4 truck shay on the roster If that is true I honestly wish we could’ve done better to save that engine from scrap we came close to saving an example of a four truck Shay locomotive sadly that engine was unfortunately scrapped and Western Maryland Shay number 6 is the worlds largest operating shay locomotive to this day
Awesome video! Can’t wait for the next engines of Amtrak and engines of New York central. Also. I sent a message on instagram to you with an attached photo. Could you share your opinion about it with me there?

Those 5 chime Shay whistles never cease to put goosebumps up your spine. Such an iconic and powerful sound
That's a 6 chime on 11.
Please don’t say like that.
I would like to go and visit the Cass Scenic Railroad. They have lots of Shay locomotives. This is a beautiful heritage railroad.
I have been here many times as a kid, and I can say, it's worth it
@@Alpha_AI8888 I have went to Roaring Camp Railroad a lot. With their two train rides. They are beautiful. On going. They are amazing.

@@Alpha_AI8888 Me too. Awesome type of locomotives. All companies that build trains are like heaven.
Ah yes, the beautiful geared engines from my home state! Land of the free, home of the Shays
Gotta love that manns creek 3 chime, definitely one of my favorite whistles. Also great video! 👍
Just an Awesome Place! We went back in August and had an awesome time railfanning and riding! Thank You for Sharing Your Experience!

I went there about a year ago and it was epic. Wouldnt mind going back again this summer.
I've had the pleasure of visiting 3 times and hope to make one last visit once the durbin line is fully reopened
Been there twice. Loved it.
Great Video! I was there the same day you were. I also road in the cab of Shay 11 to Bald Knob.
I go there every year it is truly a great place to go too
I went there in 2016 but it looks like they've been doing some work since I've been there last. Shays are cool locomotives though

Awesome video taking a ride behind a shay is great
It’s beautiful. Along with the other two geared steam locomotives. And Along with other kinds of locomotives too.

At 7:44 was that Southern Railway 604 the 630’s sister?
It was originally Buffalo Gauley 4.
