Cass Scenic Railroad: Logging Along the River

On Day 3, We joined back with the group as finished the final day right. Featuring the newly restored Camp car, Shay 4 pulled the camp car while the Climax pulled an empty log train as both were photographed at different spots between Cass and Leatherbark Creek near Back Mountain Rd. As a Bonus, we got a shot of Shay 2 coming into Cass with a Nathan K5LA 5 Chime which was supposedly worn by Chesapeake & Ohio #614. Enjoy!

The 5 chime on Shay 2 is a copy of the K5LA whistle made for C&O 614. That one was made by MD whistles. The original whistle worn by 614 is supposedly somewhere down in Florida.

No one permanently lives there. You can rent the company houses there and stay a night in them.
