I don't understand something. You say you have to allow the fear and it doesn't matter what the cause is, normalize it. 14 years here and now is by far the worst it’s ever been. However I’ve only found Shaan a few months ago but Shaans gotten rid of my worst panic attacks.
@@raymondlee3351 Well I was having extremely bad panic/anxiety attacks and they were really scary because I didn’t know what was happening I thought I was going crazy. Then when I found out it was just anxiety the worst of them ended. Now I still have them just not as bad as they were before because I had reassurance I wasn’t going crazy. But I still have lots of other symptoms like derealization and physical symptoms and intrusive thoughts.
Shaan, you have help me so much. I had my very first Anxiety Attack Oct 20th. I retire from the United States Coast Guard Dec 12th and my doctors think that is what caused it. Either way your videos taught me everything everything I know about Anxiety. I am healing and I hear your voice in my head while I'm working through it. I hope everyone who comes across you heals and finds peace.
Keep doing what you are doing even when your mind wants you to run away or when you have a brain fog during a minor or a major panic attack... Eventually it just passes and everything gets back to normal... This exactly what I follow getting better day by day 😊
You answer to anxiety: "Thank you, give me more." 1. thank you - because anxiety is just a signal, natural reaction trying to protect you. Be polite to anxiety. 2. give me more - you have to mean it. It never killed you, so just give me more if it's needed = i don't care about anxiety 3. focus on other things (work, hobby, movie...) - and when those unwanted feelings comes, repeat 1 and 2. This is important step, because it sends signal to our brain, that anxiety is not needed anymore. It wants all your attention.
I don't understand something. Shaan says you have to allow the fear and it doesn't matter what the cause is, normalize it. What helped me stay in anxious situations is to tell myself, that those symptoms that I am feeling are there, because my nervous system is overwhelmed. Sometimes we have to give us a break and realise, that we are going through our days wearing a big, 50 kg cross , and that is exhausting. But also, that its completely normal under these circumstances, that the nervous system collapses. By accepting that or better said learning that, it made my daily life so much easier, and it helped me understand, when i need to take a break, and its ok to take a break. Nobody expects you to Bench 100 kg on your first day at the gym. It takes time, be proud of your progress❤
1. hot shower + cry 2. little by little make it cold + breath exercise 729 ( 7sec in, 2sec hold, 9sec out ) + make an image in your mind about something that makes you CALM and WITHOUT this image be associated with any person. these things helped me, and im not a doctor or a psychologist !
Hi Shaan, I've started to apply your teaching and I'm recovering, but my symptoms keep changing in some days, You helped me when i was hopeless for recovery. You know this very well and helping people with that it's really amazing. God bless you with lots of happiness.
the way you describe anxiety and panic attacks is exactly what I went through as a teenager into my twenties, not able to hold a job and being scared to drive is a REAL fear. Just now at 30 am I able to get a career job and finally able to buy a car this week that I want to be able to drive myself to and from work. I want to have freedom and not rely on my parents or anyone anymore due to my anxiety. I am so proud that I want to get control over it with exposure therapy and making my car my friend. I will set time aside to get to know the car, sit on my breaks and read in it, eat, and do anything to make it so I am not afraid of it. Thank you so much!
Shaan also- a lot of people who have palpitations and had them for quite some time now- after ruling everything out- the reason they belive it’s a heart attack isn’t the act in itself at that moment they worried all this anxiety and the feelings will LEAD to a heart attack or weakened heart, imagine if someone had bad anxiety for 1,3+ years ……..even doctors say of if you stress to much you will ruin your health you will cause a real heart attack or etc etc….???
I have same question as they say too much stress and no proper sleep will affect our health. With anxiety we have so much heart palpitations / poor sleep, does it affect our heart etc?
I have had panic attacks for several years. It took me a long time and a lot of reading and listening to others experiences to help me. What I’ve learned is our bodies are made to handle these stressful moments. If we had a heart attack every time we were chased by predators (for example) as our ancestors were, the human race would have died out millions of years ago. That really spoke to me. I’m not saying stress is good and we shouldn’t do anything about it, but realize our hearts are much stronger than we think.
I really need someone with whom I can share my thoughts and listen to theirs.. It would make my heart feel lighter by knowing I'm not alone into this which will also help me with reassurance .. I struggling alot on my recovery journey everyday I feel like I'm back to square one.. I really need some guidance some support!
I’m getting bad ibs from anxiety like loose stools, skinny stools, frequent stools, then I over think and worry if it’s something bad and serious so I am stuck in the cycle.
Yes I’ve had moments where I hear my heartbeat and I feel it super fast, only thing to do is just let it and tell yourself how your day was and be thankful for it. First couple of weeks it will slowly go down till you fall asleep. Nothing to be afraid of you are only going to SLEEP!
What you're going through is scary, but I believe it's in your best interest to get to a hospital to let them help you. Just call a medical professional or the hospital or 911 and let them take care of you.
Better safe than not finding out whether you need medication or not- I believe everyone here understands what you are experiencing…. I myself seems to be struggling with if it’s time for me to seek professional help… help can be in the form of talking to a professional to get out what you are experiencing… there are many levels to healing through simpler ways like incorporating walking, grounding, meditating, eating healthier, talking to someone who care to help you… watching comedy is another way to forget our problems… many many ways to heal but sometimes professional help is the answer.. just like you I am speaking out in these places to help me figure out what I should invest in for my wellness… always asks questions when you are given medications, you have to be mindful of the medications and doses etc. I pray that you and all of us will be heal …. Please God, help this person to feel healthy and happiness for the rest of their lifetime
