Hi! When in the Parent listing, it works much better to input the ASIN of your existing product(s) (if you already have existing child listings) instead of using the Product ID. I've found that Product ID's are prone to more "error" messages. Also, remember that your specified category needs to be the same on the Parent and Child listing or you'll get all sorts of error messages😓

And we wamt to make the 40 units variation as a parent listing and small packaging as its child listing. Will the bigger packaging ( Parebt listing) will also be available to customers ? Or do i have to add big packaging as variation to make it available to cistomers for sale ? Cuz while Creating Listing we used Details, Title, Bullet etc of the bigger packaging listing, so do we need to create it as Variation as well ? To make it available to customers ? Or will it be available to customers as being a parent listing?

First off I want to say I'm a big fan of your training tutorials. This video was informative, however, I'm getting errors using the method you described. This may be because Amazon has changed this process since you created this video 3 years ago. Specificaly, I have 18 identical products listed on Amazon that only differ by the graphic design on them and I would like to combine them into one listing. After clicking Submit it returns with error messages "SKU entered is already being used in your catalog" for each variant. Trying to determine how to create a parent listing with various scents. Like candles for example. From what I gather, I would create a parent listing of .. for example “lavender shores candle” and then the other would be variations off that? Like vanilla breeze etc…

I am trying to list a product under Home & kitchen however when I go to the sub-category i can't find the needed variation there (size or Item Package Quantity) even though other sellers who listed the same product have picked the above category & sub-category. The only way to get variation is as you said to choose another sub-category but that wouldn't be an accurate description of the product's nature. Would this affect my sales?

Hi, Yes if a product is selling well and if you add a child listing as a variation then there is a 70% chance that your variations will sell well too. It's a good idea and that's how you will grow too. It's the same case with one of the clients and his sales boom.
@@alimoradi8278 it's not a risk. You can add variations easily. Back in August, it work for me. And up to till now, it sells well. And due to variation, Our ACOS drop down to 22% from 40%. It's my client Account and I am Managing their PPC and A to Z account.

When you create variations how long does it take to show up? I created a listing for two colors and two sizes but when I click view listing on the dashboard it shows the parent listing but it doesn't show the variations, or the secondary images, it just is showing a wrong image for the main image bullet points and product description only. So how long does it take to show up the variations? Amazon says it takes 48 hours but it's been,4 days and my variations still not showing up.

Hi Maney, that variation is BLACK FRAME/BLUE MIRROR that's why they look blue and that one small image might just be technical image of like the layers in the glass.

I have a product that I have been selling as a single item - I want to start selling it as a two pack. Same product - I just want to sell it as a single ( as I have already) and also sell a two pack. So I do sell that parent listing ( the single) do I need to add both the single and the two pack as child listings?
Yes, Merge 2 pack listing with Parent listing. That's how both will show on the same product detail page in variations. And another benefit is That Ratings and reviews will be used for both.

how about having a variation with FBA and FBM ASINs together. That would work out to, right? FBA and FBM listings will share the same Detail page.. Or do you have another opinion about this?
You can go to your listing in Manage Inventory and click Copy listing. This creates a duplicate, then set the duplicate to the other fulfillment method. DO NOT HAVE 2 OF THE SAME FULFILLMENT METHOD though

I got a question, if I already have a listing with five variations and I would like to split two of them under a new parent listing, do I need to first delete those two variations from the original parent listing or just add those variations under the new parent listing and it will be transfer automatically? if I do need to delete first, how long until I will be able to relist them under the new parent listing?
Greetings, You should not delete it because You will lose all the sales history, ratings, and reviews. Simply, exclude these listings from Parent listing and merge them with Another Parent Listing.

When I tried the only option I see is to delete the child ASIN from the variation, but amazon comes up with a message that the child listings would be permanently deleted and I worry I will loose my reviews. Claire that's a really good question, I have never had to do that so need to look into it more. One idea, is create the new variation listing and attempt to add this one as a child and see what happens

Hey, you can list your product with variations in any category. But if Amazon doesn't allow you to create a Variation listing then Open a case with Amazon and Attach a screenshot with that. It will take 12 to 24 hours but will resolve.

There are 3 solutions First one Open case with Amazon and mention all situation in that case and said to Amazon merge child listings with my parent listing Second solution is to go live chat with amazon And third one is do it manually add one variation with size-name variation

erkydi check the variation listing matches that of the parent ASIN in terms of PT "product type". For example, the ‘PILLOW’ PT can refer to products such as bed pillows. I have a product that I have been selling as a single item - I want to start selling it as a two pack. Same product - I just want to sell it as a single ( as I have already) and also sell a two pack. So I do sell that parent listing ( the single) do I need to add both the single and the two pack as child listings?
Yes, Merge 2 pack listing with Parent listing. That's how both will show on the same product detail page in variations.
And another benefit is That Ratings and reviews will be used for both.
Hello, I'm having trouble in my listing because it the category I selected it shows that variations are not supported. what should I do? i see other sellers with the same product and category and they do haver variations. please help
But what if the variations in on size and price only, how to you show those variations on the listing?

What if you have multiple variations? For instance in the snacks category, I would like to put Flavor and Pack Size (1-pack, 2-pack etc). Which variation is added to the end of the title?

If you have the variations theme you need, yes Fernando, but you may want to create a NEW PARENT and then add existing listings to it

I’m already selling a product on Amazon but it won’t let me add a variation. Can I change the category it’s in in order to make it a parent listing? Or will that ruin where my product ranks? It’s organically on the first page right now when searched for using my keywords.
how about having a variation with FBA and FBM ASINs together. That would work out to, right? FBA and FBM listings will share the same Detail page.. Or do you have another opinion about this?
100% good to do this Sisa, one ASIN (one product) with 2 SKUs (ways of fulfilling orders) - one is FBA and one is FBM :)
You can go to your listing in Manage Inventory and click Copy listing.
This creates a duplicate, then set the duplicate to the other fulfillment method. DO NOT HAVE 2 OF THE SAME FULFILLMENT METHOD though

Hi! I've run into an issue where I'm unable to create a variation for this reason: "Variations are not available for this category". We're wanting to sell books where each of the front covers (two versions) are in a different colour. Is it uncommon to create a variation family within the book category? Will I need to create separate listings and just state the colour in the name? Thanks in advance!

I m trying to send my first stock to amazon FBA, I have only 1 box to send with 59 units inside the box and box dimensions are 52*50*35 cm and weight of the box is 19.3 kg, it’s showing me 3 warnings in packing details, what should I do know, shall I put my units into 2 boxes or ignore the warnings, by the way I’m using existing ASIN to create the listing. I got a question, if I already have a listing with five variations and I would like to split two of them under a new parent listing, do I need to first delete those two variations from the original parent listing or just add those variations under the new parent listing and it will be transfer automatically? if I do need to delete first, how long until I will be able to relist them under the new parent listing?
Greetings, You should not delete it because You will lose all the sales history, ratings, and reviews.
Simply, exclude these listings from Parent listing and merge them with Another Parent Listing.

When I tried the only option I see is to delete the child ASIN from the variation, but amazon comes up with a message that the child listings would be permanently deleted and I worry I will loose my reviews. Any advice would be great, thanks!
Claire that's a really good question, I have never had to do that so need to look into it more. One idea, is create the new variation listing and attempt to add this one as a child and see what happens

Yes, you can if you have the variation theme available. Consider creating a NEW PARENT listing and then adding the relevant variations to it

Hey, you can list your product with variations in any category. But if Amazon doesn't allow you to create a Variation listing then Open a case with Amazon and Attach a screenshot with that.
It will take 12 to 24 hours but will resolve.

I need a suggestion. I am selling a product with two variation pack of 2 and pack of 3 in the them size-name (it was listed in size name because it was a product combo, main product with small product) , Recently I introduced a product with pack of 5 and pack of 4 . But when I tried to add variation in parent listing it showed “The variation theme you selected previously is no longer available in this category. You can still edit existing variations, but you cannot add a new variation.”
What to do …
There are 3 solutions
First one Open case with Amazon and mention all situation in that case and said to Amazon merge child listings with my parent listing
Second solution is to go live chat with amazon
And third one is do it manually add one variation with size-name variation
once the child listings are created, im unable to create the parent listing. Amazon will not let you go to straight the tab "variation" if you don't provide a product id!
Does anyone have an update for this in 2022???!

Why do I keep getting this when I try to add variation under product listing:
"The SKU does not match any ASIN and contains invalid value(s) for attributes required for creation of a new ASIN.”
erkydi check the variation listing matches that of the parent ASIN in terms of PT "product type". For example, the ‘PILLOW’ PT can refer to products such as bed pillows. If these differ, you will get that message as the attributes don't match.
