With any hint of asbestos, it is absolutely critical to minimise any dust and fine particles. I would recommend wetting down with oil or water before any mechanical intervention, AND wear a respirator whilst doing the removal. Beautiful result tho. I hope you and yours are safe and well in these tough times.
This might be a blow torch. Whatever it is, it's another careful and precise restoration. The brass and bakelite contrast is very attractive. Another inspiring Veradona restoration especially in these times when we all need some cheer. Best wishes from the USA.

You need to wet down the asbestos while working with it so any small fibers don’t get away. If you just brush it off, you could miss a few and they could kick up later and be inhaled. You don’t want to mess with that stuff. Just some advise. Beautiful job!

You do such great work. Unless I'm mistaken, but the nozzle looks like it's bent where it screws into the housing or maybe cross threaded. Didn't know if you saw that.
Hello! This is the rare version, with copper/brass body. Btw, nice work. I have the same model, but aluminium body. Just an info for all, don't use regular automotive gasoline/petrol as fuel. It damages the rubber parts inside the pressure valve. I recommended technical washer, no thinner, no alcohol. And before ignition, don't forget to properly preheat the nozzle!

It looks amazing however I have a question. What was the the big copper thing you put on it after you finished it?
Soldering copper, before electrical heated soldering irons were common, this was the usual solution for making soldered joints
@@Hyratel while thats interesting it doesn't answer my question what was the big thing on the front of the blowtorch it seemed to serve no purpose.
