Inspires me to restore mine to working condition. I don't think my 1920s/1930s blow torch has been lit since the 1970s or 1980s and probably before it wound up at the antique store where I purchased it, the torch probably sat in an old person's shed or garage for years.
That was amazing. I have two of these torches I found at a family ranch when we moved our parents into a smaller house. Look forward to restoring them for my parents. Cheers
I was at my grandmother's house just yesterday, and literally found this exact model in the attic. In about the same condition. The plastic knob and 95% of the sticker is missing. Great video!
This looked like a frighteningly difficult restore. Fuel under pressure then light it up. Wow! But I’d like to really complement you on the description detailing your actions. It was amazing. If someone has a question about a specific action you performed, it is outlined along with the time stamp to cross reference. Great job man. Thank you so much for your time and for sharing such a wonderful skilled restoration.
Now That is a proper restoration, and not just buffing it up, are painting a tool, and declaring you restored it. Very very nice work, and you've made yourself proud, by doing it the right way, and that's never the easy way. Yet, it's easier than doing it the second time. I already read your Pop's comments, and his chest busted the buttons off his shirt it swelled up so big. So it's obvious his feelings about the efforts you applied in a few pieces of shiny brass, and all that goes into a excellent video. That, and you listened, when he gave his advice. No school, like old school knowledge, when you need it.
Great job 👍 on this restoration. It didn't look easy. My father had one just like it and he used it a lot. Seeing this brings back so many memories and it makes me wonder what ever happened to that thing.

Nice. Thanks especially for adding the photo at the end of the Soldering iron on the torch. I have a few of them and just picked up a torch today. Really cool to see how they were designed to work together. Thanks!

Torch looks sweet. I just picked up two, one is a twin valve that can be run on kerosene. I hope to restore both but one is missing a knob and the other, the pump handle is broken. Only 8 bucks a piece! BTW little tip- mix acetone with ATF for a great penetrating oil.
