- Welcome to my channel, in today's video I'll be showing you how to record vocals in FL Studio with zero latency. Latency is one of three issues that prevent you from recording a song. By the end of this video you'll find out the other two issues and how to achieve smooth recording sessions. If this video help you in anyway make sure to subscribe because I upload a ton of FL Studio content like this consistently.

This was super helpful! Just made a template yesterday with 75+ mixer slots, inserts including UAD plugins, etc. I was noticing the numbers, but having your reference of 10ms, plus watching the numbers while muting helped me track down the culprit. In my case it was instances of FL Studio's Pitch Shifter. 1-3 instances would show minimal delay, but a 4th pushed it from 3ms to 57ms! I assumed it would be some UAD plugins, but I was wrong, it was actually native FL Studio plugins. Haven't tested yet, but confident that now I'll be able to go back through and activate plugins up until I hit the 10ms mark (big plugins were taking 2ms, sometimes would take a couple plugins to hit 2ms - still not ideal, and don't think I have this much of an issue in Pro Tools, but trying my alternatives out since I already own FL Studio for life!). Thanks!
glad to help
You leveled up my stuff, Thought it was me this whole time
Thanks man such a detailed explanation
np bro
quality shit, keep going bro. I learned alot!
Will you make a vid about leveling the beat and vocals during recording? I always feel like im behind the beat and i Just cant record if i dont hear myself
Thank you brother!!!
i was thinking about recording without any effects to get rid of the latency but i never realized that autotune is the biggest problem and none of my other plugins change anything, i knew about autotune's low latency mode before but i've never used it cause i didn't know it was THAT effective because i didn't try it myself, so thank you so much for making this video and proving that the low latency mode is actually crazy lmao
no problem my guy 😎👍
Preciate ya dawg i was so mad i was delayed. My vibe was gone.
No problem
Thank u ! Helped a lot
No problem 👍

you have an amazing voice
Thank you 😁
Nice bro
YOO FELLA, WONDERFUL VIDEO.
I WAS CURIOUS TO AN ISSUE I HAVE & THAT'S WHEN I OPEN A FRESH PROJECT MY MIC IS PERFECTLY SYNCED BUT AFTER A FEW TIMES OF RECORDING AND REOPENING THE PROJECT, MY MIC HAS A HEAVY LATENCY AND I CANT FIX IT UNLESS I OPEN A NEW PROJECT.
It’s can be the plug-ins you added to the project or you have to delete all the unused recordings by going to tools>macros>purge unused
Every RUclipsr has posted differ tutorials and every time I ask this no response but I’ve done everything you did for timing and I have no late vocals but my problem has been In FL 21 on my volt 2 Universal Audio interface is my vocals are printing too early how do I fix that is it my plug ins? I saw you adjusted plug ins to change ms could a plug in be causing my stuff to come in too early??
It must be the interface not sure
When i use interface i cant hear myself only with ASIO any solutions plz?
What interface do you have it could be that you don’t have the drivers installed for it
I'm lost as to what to do. FL studio won't let me use my Scarlett solo as my input/output so I'm stuck using FL Studio ASIO. My smple rate is at 96000 hz. My buffer is at 256 smp and it says (3ms) but my status says (63ms) and I still hear that bit of latency. Thats even with an empty project. Like I dont even have any plug ins loaded up right now. And I have a beast of a gaming laptop.
Stop using Fl Studio Asio, it’s terrible for recording! You need to download the correct drivers for your Scarlett solo interface or else it won’t show up inside Fl Studio as an input. (You can get the drivers on the focusrite website) Once you get the drivers installed you restart your computer. Select your interface as an input and go to the setting, you need to switch your sample rate to 44100Hz and the buffer size to 128 samples when you’re recording and 192 samples when you’re not recording music in Fl Studio
@@Virtual_Beats when I use put focusrite usb asio I can’t hear myself while recording, Ive tried reinstalling the drivers, Idk if it has to do with my laptop, for now I’m stuck using fl studio Asio. Any way I can contact you would be much appreciated 🙏
Same
Let me know if you found a fix please
@@niory0025 you have to hook up headphones to the interface or you won’t hear anything also check the sound settings on windows
free game full knowledge, smart video this is great, can I ask you how you do the 3d virtual guy ?

Coming to you live from a recording 🤣
bro i luv u thank u too much this helped me a lot
FL only lets me record with an ASIO device but my scarlett 2i2 shows up as a directsound device... what do I do
If you’re using windows you need to make sure you have the latest drivers downloaded for your scarlet interface. If you use MAC I’m not sure.
@@Virtual_Beats yea thanks I just needed to download the focusrite shit
@@noahgrossmann4579 make sure to restart computer after you download drivers
if i set up the ASIO of my scarlet i cant hear my mic, what i have to do?
Do you have headphones plugged in to interface
@@Virtual_Beats yep
i can hear all the sound of fl except the mic
@@vincenzodifalco8799 join the discord server and I’ll be able to help you it’s linked in the description
@@vincenzodifalco8799 never use asio to record its trash... use your interface drivers, if you dont have the drivers download them
harry potter in the background 🔥
how do you record your screen while making a song?
All I did was take the finished song and lined it up with the raw vocals so it looks like I'm making it LIVE
@@Virtual_Beats goat thanks for letting me know 🤘🏻
@@qlokx yup new mixing vocals video dropping on my second channel!!!
@@Virtual_Beats bet will check that out
good stuff is to just disable self hearing, just unsend the channel from master
The point of hearing yourself is so you can see if you’re on key or if you like the reference track your making hence why most studios will play your voice back, it also helps create a vibe for the artist. Setting it up to where you can’t hear yourself will not remove the latency cause once you unmute it the vocals will be shifted off beat. At the end of this the day it’s all your choice if you want to hear yourself or not but just make sure to follow this video to avoid latency.
damn
IT WAS THE WRONG ASIO
THANK YOU
