Thanks for demystifying all that jargon. Feels much less intimidating now. And as usual, all of it explained in your straightforward, easy to understand style. Thanks, Paul.
First book published today. It is all very confusing trying to now move into selling it but thank you as this will be a great reference point. very helpful. Thank You Tony Jefferies from Liverpool.
I lost lots of money running amazon ads. Frankly, I'm confused and discouraged. I looked at a concept on Amazon, decided to do it better ( a LOT better), got 45 books up and then ran an ad campaign. I spent $50 and got one sale. You said at one time if this is the case, it's either price or cover. My price is LOW and the covers are colorful, clever and eye-catching. I sell these books in retail stores locally and they are so popular that they can't keep them in stock! I am befuddled and ready to throw in the towel. KDP feels like a complete joke to me right now.
Great video Paul 👌, is it required to start ads straight away after our book goes live or we can wait for some time to start ads, if yes how much time, please guide.
Is the bid amount/cost of running the Amazon ads (cost per click) taken from the royalties of our book? I'm a bit worried if my book's royalty rate is around $1.90 and then I run an ad for maybe 50 cents, I may have a loss. Could we pay for the adds through a different payment method?
Thanks Paul nice tutorial. Placed an ad on my Christmas activity book. Now on first page is it because of the high bid or because of the high click through rate? Thanks
Both approaches are valid but if it's a book you're confident looks good then I know a lot of advice is to go with ads straight away to try and get an initial burst in sales, which can help with ranking.
Hello Paul. I'm a new subscriber here. I have got a basic beginners question for you. Can you have different accounts/pen names on KDP? For example: create one brand (pen name) for coloring books and then create another for let's say empty notebooks?
Paul, Love your videos! I have done a bunch os Sudoku books ranging from easy to hard but just can't get sales. Is it profitable to run amazon ads for this type of book since there are so many and very few keywords that set the books apart. Would an ad just drive sales to my competitors. I am a 67 year old grandma just trying to get started. Thanks, Sandra L. Lasater
No, an ad won't drive sales to your competitiors. An ad campaign may be profitable. it's impossible for me to say becasue not only does it depend on your book and the appeal of your book but also, the bid price, the keywords you choose, how much experience you have with ads. There are many variables at play.
Hey Paul, Do you know of any copyright issues involving the Anime niche. I’ve wanted to make a how to draw Anime book but not sure of how to check on copyright issues. Thanks for all the info, has really helped me.
There are issues if you use already created characters. If you are drawing original characters and images yourself or getting orginal drawings created then there is no issue. It would be the same for any cartoon genre.
Wait! At the 6:25 mark, you state that your 54% ACOS means you're losing money. How can that be? Even Amazon states " if you spent $50 on an ad campaign and earned $100 from it, your Amazon ACOS would be 50%."
Pls I have a question For instant if I run ads for a particular book, and it have already made at least 4 sales And I want to change the book cover, will it affect my ad?
1 Issue that has been brought to my attention is the difference between Uk Spellings and USA spellings. Would you advise me to use USA spellings and sell USA and have the same book with UK spellings and just sell them on Amazon UK. In colouring books, parents can be put off before even looking if it is spelt COLOR ( USA) Amazon contacted me about one of my books for this very reason is there anything I can do about it
From the main (management) screen, click on the book campaign, which takes you to "campaign" page, then scroll to bottom and click on name of book which takes you to "ad group" page, then click on "ad group settings", and it's there
When would you suggest turning off an ad? I have heard people say after about a month after the book launch. I dont want to keep all of my books running ads as that will get too expensive. Thanks
I usually want to see the book ranking high up on the first page before turning it off. If it doesn’t, after a couple of months, or it’s really cost ineffective then I’ll also turn it off.
Thank you for your reply its been very helpful. One more question, some of my books are on the first page but still has a high bsr. Should I still run the campaigns until the bsr improves or pause the ads now that they are on the first page? Thanks again
It has been 9 days since I upload my kdp paperback and it is still in review can someone please tell me when my kdp paperback will publish? Please please please reply me...

Hey Paul, what's your best video on how to actually set up a kdp ad?
This is a video I've done in the past aimed at beginners: ruclips.net/video/zQOu1IgsfM0/видео.html I also have an Amazon ads playlist on my channel.
@@paulmarles Thanks! I'm working my way through the playlist now. Your videos are great!
Thanks Paul nice tutorial. Placed an ad on my Christmas activity book. Now on first page is it because of the high bid or because of the high click through rate? Thanks
Could be either or both. You should be able to see the click through rate in your dashboard.
Hi Paul, do you ever turn off ads or do you lower bids? Do you have a strategy for this?
when should I add a book to my ad? immediately after publication or wait a few weeks?

I don't at the moment.

You're welcome. Thank you for watching.
Can you explain why the top 2 sponsored book showed upper on a niche when we search by any kw? Is it because of higher bid or any strategies?
It's mainly due to the higher bid but also a book that is making sales and has a good conversion rate will get a bit of an extra push as well.
Hi Paul, I've only published one medium content self care journal. Would this strategy work for this type of content and one book? THANKS !

Paul do you place ads in the UK and Canada as well?
No, I've only done the US but have heard that people get good results with the UK as the bid prices and competition is lower.
Pls I have a question
For instant if I run ads for a particular book, and it have already made at least 4 sales
And I want to change the book cover, will it affect my ad?
No, it won't affect the actual ad. The cover in the ad will change automatically.
My dashboard says I’m not eligible to run ads???
Have you tried contacting support to ask why?
Hi Paul, the orders I made on running ads is not reflecting on my dashboard and / or on royalties estimator. How do I go about this please 🙏
@paul marles , I Have a question. Do we pay for the ads before it starts or the money is removed from our sales .
You pay for the ads up front.
The book I posted is not showing on amazon, I got an email saying that the book has been published, it's been three to four weeks now. Help me
Click on the link to your book in the KDP dashboard. It will be there on Amazon.
@@paulmarles thank you. 😍🇱🇰

Paul, do you know anyone I could hire to run Amazon ads for my book: "The Conscience of An Agnostic.?"
please I don't know how to run amazon ads
I have an Amaozn Ads playlist on my channel that may help.
How do I find this page ?

Good question
is it possible to start with bid of 0.05 -0.08 usd for coloring book ?
It is, but that is probably way to low as it's a very competitive niche.
Paul can you go back and change the bid if you feel you set it too high and if yes how do you edit that part?
Yes you can edit, in the "ad group settings" tab
@@juliesandler4794 is it under quick edit?

Reviews take longer during these last months because there's a lot of traffic to Amazon from sellers and buyers. It could take up to 2 weeks or more.

There's no strategy here in this video. None!
